My family has been going to Dr. Tyner for a year or so and we love him. His staff is super nice, professional. The dental hygienists always with a smiles and take their time. Recently, my 18 month old daughter knocked out her tooth and I was frantic. We took her to urgent care and they couldn’t do anything. Her tooth was hanging by a tread. And they sent me to the ER or a dentist. On a whim, I called the office. They could of told me they were too busy, they don’t see toddlers, they never saw her before or just no. No, they told me to come in even though they were all booked up. Dr. Tyner saw her in 5 minutes, removed the tooth and reassured me that she will be ok. Her baby tooth is gone :(but Dr. Tyner saved her from hours of crying. Thank you Dr. Tyner. On that Monday, you were my hero.

First visit he definitely had me fooled… was very sweet and very funny. He sent me to get my wisom tooth removed at a neighboring dentist and everytime i called back with questions, he sent me away. As a potential patient, I would have liked him to at least answer my calls or reassure me but I guess he was too afraid of giving the wrong solution, he didnt bother to try.

Excellent Dentist, I commute from the city to visit this dentists for cleanings and checkups. I wont go anywhere else. The Staff are great and Dr. Tyner looks for your best interests unlike the other Dentists that are rand like cattle mart cash hogs looking to do unnecessary dental work for your hard earned dollar.

This review is so long overdue. I have been a patient of Dr. Tyner for 5 years and he is absolutely the best dentist that I have ever had. I’ve never been terrified of the dentist but for those who are he puts you at ease, knows what he’s doing and gets straight to the point. He even cracks a few jokes in between to try to relax people. Nice technique! I have recommended him to so many of my co-​workers and they also have been raving about the service that his office provides.

I would give the hygienist a higher star rating, but for Dr Tyner himself? Here’s what you should know:
I had a number of crowns done by him. But since going to him I had my teeth examined by NYU dentistry a couple years later and all of the top professors there concurred that his work was «horrible». They explained that there were «open margins» near the gum line, and said it’s like the caps were fitting like a loose hat, so that bacteria can easily get underneath the gums and cause tooth decay.
If you just need a few fillings, he’s decent with that but be aware that you need to tell him if you want white fillings. He prefers to use silver (probably because it’s an easier job). And he put a silver filling on one of my bottom pre-​molars that is pretty visible.
Dr Tyner overall seems motivated by quantity, rushing people in and out. He was always proud of his work with the crowns and I didn’t know any better. Sure they looked cosmetically appealing from the outside, but leaving the open margins was negligent on his part. Some people sue for this kind of experience…

Dr. Tyner is an EXCELLENT Dentist!!! I am terrified of dentist and what motivates me to visit a Dentist is PAIN. From a child anytime I went to the Dentist I would always be in pain. Pain motivated me to visit Dr. Tyner for a needed extraction. Dr Tyner extracted the tooth and I experienced zero pain. I no longer have any fear of going to Dr Tyner.

I loved this dentist.
Staff members are nice and welcoming/​professional.
Not a long wait.
Dr. Tyner from my experience was always in a good mood.
I believe I’ve been going to him for the past 3 years or so.
So sad he stopped taking my insurance…

I had not seen a dentist for almost 18 years before spring of 2010 when I started feeling stabbing pain in my gums. As an emergency I saw a dentist my primary doctor recommended. That dentist retraumatized me and gave me the push I needed to research for a dentist that can work well with people like me who suffer with anxiety and depression.
I found Tyner through 1800Dentist and even then googled his name to see if I could find any reviews. I found enough that made me feel comfortable to want to try him out and it was so worth it.
Dr. Tyner is a personable professional. He was compassionate when I explained my anxiety and fears and previous experiences. He promised to respect my pain threshold and gave me additional anesthesia as I have a very low threshold for pain. He explained what he was going to do in my mouth before he did it. He answered the questions I had patiently and quite thoroughly.
His dental hygienist, Janice, is also very calm and has a calming effect. She was soothing and gentle and very gracious. :) She even saw my son during my appt and was able to coax him into the chair. Unfortunately, he himself was traumatized by a «pediatric» dentist in Flushing who had little patience for his anxiety. He was 2 at the time. Now he’s 4 and he still remembered «the dentist». Fortunately, Janice was patient and worked her magic. She got him in the chair in less than 10 min. gave him a cleaning and he left having made a new best friend and without the fear of «the dentist». I shall be forever grateful. :)

I also found him through 800-​dentist. His office is calming and staff are very friendly and helpful. I’m terrified when it comes to the dentist, but Dr. Tyner puts you at ease, knows what he’s doing and gets straight to the point. I would also recommend him highly. He’s very, very busy, but will work you into the schedule when you need him.

His dental hygienist was awesome giving me the best cleaning ever however I found Dr. Tyner little high strung and harried. He had poor listening skills. He kept asking me the same question, «do you have headaches?» to which I said, no but he kept on as if I said yes. Really annoying.

I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to the dentist and hate going but since finding Dr. Tyner through 1−800-Dentist, I like going to him. He puts everyone at ease and explains exactly what he is doing and makes you laugh which always helps. I heartily recommend Dr. Tyner as your dentist especially if you are scared of the dentist
