History

Established in 2007.

In 2007, Richard Levine stumbled upon an idea for a new business. He already had an established produce company, Athena Farms, that serviced many upscale Atlanta restaurants, To say «thank you» to a friend who lived in Sugarloaf Country Club, Richard put together a «box of goodies» filled with his top quality fresh fruits and vegetables and delivered it to her home. When she was asked by an envious neighbor how in the world did she get that fabulous produce delivered to her home, she jokingly said, «My produce guy», and in an instant a business idea was born. After his friend repeatedly raved about the gift box delivered to her home, Richard concluded that there must be more busy, health conscious Atlantans who themselves would love the convenience of ordering their weekly produce online and having it appear on the doorstep the next day.

Hence, the mypro​duceguy​.com online service was born solely out of a thoughtful gesture between friends and now has grown beyond belief.

After 20 plus years in the trucking business, managing sales for Fortune 500 accounts across the country, Terry Shirley partnered together with his neighbor Richard Levine to create mypro​duceguy​.com. Richard Levine, who already had a successful produce business servicing some of Atlanta’s top restaurants, wanted to use his knowledge of the produce business in combination with Terry’s vast sales and marketing experience. Together, they created a home delivery produce service for busy, health conscious Atlantans, saving both time and money. Running mypro​duceguy​.com from the Atlanta Farmer’s Market, both Terry and Richard live in the metro Atlanta area with their wives.
