Was in the store recently. Got fit for an excellent pair of Saucony’s. They knew everything about running shoes. Overall, the experience was amazing.

I’m an amateur runner. I started going to Run Chicago 2 pairs of shoes ago and it really changed the way I run/work out. If you’re like me and don’t know what you’re looking for or what kind of shoe best fits your foot, this place is very accommodating to finding the perfect fit for your foot. They always provide lots of good options. Honestly, I didn’t know shoes could feel this good on my feet. It really changes the way you work out when you have a premium pair of shoes. Also, buy the socks, the socks here are excellent. Great service, great products/options. Worth it!

I visited Run Chicago in their new location. The old location was really nice, and this was smaller. No matter. When I first got there they had closed early, so I went back the next day, while out on a run. After a couple of minutes I was the only one in the store. I was looking at the shoes, and the guy behind the counter smiled at me but did not move to come over to me. After a couple more minutes, I was still looking at the shoes but he still had not asked what I was looking for or what he could help me with. Finally I asked him a question about a particular shoe, which he answered very politely, but never asked me if I wanted to try them on or anything. It’s not like I had on stilettos and a mini dress, I looked like the runner I am. Finally I left! I had a credit card in my pocket, ready to buy something if I found a great shoe. But I never got the chance. I’m very disappointed because I’m reading how nice and knowledgeable the staff is, and they’re in my neighborhood, but I couldn’t get served. I’ll try again, but the shoes are comparably priced to other stores, and I’ll spend my money where someone actually wants it.

I have been buying running shoes from Run Chicago for about two years.(I also bought some tennis shoes as well). The owner and staff are extremely knowledgable, friendly, and provide exceptional service. I wouldn’t buy my shoes any place else. When I had a running injury, the owner, Greg, spent time a great deal of time talking to me about my running and rehab. He remembers my races and always asks how I’m doing. This kind of professionalism and care is rare these days. I recommend to everyone who runs in the area to support this gem!

Very nice guy, but nothing in stock. Had to wait over a week to get an item, then more than a week for a different size when I returned it. In both cases, not one single call or update from the store regarding when it would arrive. They only started checking on it after I called them inquiring of its estimated availability date. I prefer to support local businesses and really wanted to here, but in the future I will just go to one of the running stores in the city who very probably has what I want in stock.

Went in looking for a new pair of exercise/running/walking shoes. I had heard of a similar place like this in Downtown Naperville so I decided to give it a shot. The Run Chicago staff member was actually pretty knowledgeable about gait mechanics and it made me feel at ease like he wasn’t just trying to make a sale. First he examined my old shoes and explained what he deducted about my gait just from looking inside of the shoe and at the bottom. Then he had me stand up and watched my feet as I was weight-bearing and also when I was walking. Like I said, he knew his gait mechanics and explained where i would need the most support. He measured my feet and brought out three different shoes. We tried them all on and even walked and ran on the treadmill in the store with a different shoe on each foot. I walked out with a new pair of gym shoes that I actually tried to exercise in. The store is pretty clean. THey have clothes, shoes, exercises watches, accessories, and exercise energy boosts. You will pay a little more than if you were to buy the same pair on Amazon or any other shoe website but you are supporting a small business and getting one-on-one time. I gave it a 5 because 1. the staff member was knowledgeable and not just some runner regurgitating facts 2. The staff member took the time to sit with me. There was another customer in the store and He was able to balance between the both of us without making one person feel ignored(well at least I didn’t feel ignored nor did i think the other customer was being ignored). 3. The shoe was of good quality and there was actually some work in figuring out what would work with my feet. The store was above average in terms of display, cleanliness, and selection. I left feeling satisfied which is hard these days in this consumer driven world. Disclaimer: I don’t know the owners. I don’t have any gain/financial incentive for writing this review.

i was visiting and staying in forest park and in search of a place to knock out a long run, so i stopped in and asked the staff for recommendations. i was given several options(thatcher woods, loop around forest park and oak park) and he even did some research online to give me additional routes posted by local runners. this was very helpful and above and beyond my expectations. the next day, i was planning to head out for a run when i realized that i left my doctor prescribed orthotics at home(2000 miles away), so i came back hoping they could help me. a different staff member was there, and i explained the situation and asked if they carried shoe inserts/insoles. fortunately for me, they did, and he took me to the section where they offered two or three different options. i should have brought my running shoes with me to the store to try out the inserts, but i forgot! fortunately, they carried the brand/model of shoe that i wear so i was able to test out the insert on their shoe before i made my purchase. these inserts really saved the day as i was able to go on a 12 mile run with new, unbroken-in inserts and not feel any pain! note that this store carries shoes, clothing, runners’ nutrition, accessories and more. the staff here is great and will take care of all your running needs!

Okay so, Greg-I think his name is-is SO nice. I’m not a runner-runner but I need gym shoes for my life and he seriously takes his time and considers my needs-and dared to peer into the abyss of the last pair I got from him. A weaker man would have perished under the strain-I tell you! And you don’t have to pay for parking. Yay. Thanks Greg! I’ll be back!
