Sew Particular

I found a beautiful piece of fabric while traveling in Greece and hoped to somehow put it together with a thicker blanket-​like fabric and make a throw blanket for the foot of my bed. Seeing as I had zero sewing experience… I googled «seamstress, Oak Park» to find a place that would be willing to tackle this challenging blanket I had in mind. Most places I called told me that the task was impossible because the thickness of the two fabrics differed so dramatically. Then I called «sew particular». Ms. Ingersol was incredibly kind and open and was the only person to say that the blanket could be made. Two weeks later, a GORGEOUS blanket that is put together unbelievably well (looks great and is secure) sits atop my bed in my new apartment. The service was impeccable and the product turned out exactly as i imagined it. You should stop by the store even if you don’t have an alteration or sewing inquiry. They have a collection of great vintage dresses, belts, jewelry, and bags. I purchased a beautiful belt that looks like it’s from the 1940s and just so happens to be «in» again. All in all, a GREAT experience. Wonderful service and beautiful work!
