Dippin’ Dave’s Ice Cream Shoppe

The place is always clean and employees are always friendly. Today about 4:30pm my wife and I stopped by for our favorite dessert. There were two gentleman and two young girls in front of us which I assumed were fathers and daughters. One of the young girls had to be picked up to choose her flavor and the father looked at my wife and I in a «I’m sorry» manner for taking extra time which we never thought twice about. The gentlemen and girls finished their transaction so my wife and I placed our order and prepared to pay for our treats. Low and behold the gentleman in front of us had paid for our order already. We were so surprised and appreciative that we decided to pay it forward and gave the server our money anyway and told her to pay for the couple’s order which were behind us. Dipping Dave’s is definitely on our list for great ice cream, employees and now customers too.

This place is okay. Braums and Coldstone are still my favorite. Everyone is saying the prices are good, but to me it can be just as expensive as Coldstone, and you get less. The lady who was scooping the ice cream had a hard time, and barely gave us any to enjoy. The brownies were hard, not suitable for false teeth. The issue was addressed, and outstanding customer service was delivered. I don’t think I would ever go back.
Also, right when this place opened it was perfect! Talk about the best brownie sundae with fresh homemade brownies. Now you can forget the homemade brownies, the brownies are literally the little debbie brownie bites out of the package. The teenagers who work here could offer more personality to the ice cream shop, and maybe take a class on how to scoop ice cream. Save your money and go to walmart, purchase pint size ice cream, and brownies. Waa Laa… you pay less, and you can enjoy it alot more.

Excellent prices, serving Blue Bell ice cream!

It’s a good ice cream shop. The service is friendly and the store is clean. The prices are reasonable. My only complaint, and it’s not really a complaint about the store, is that it gets overrun by kids (teenagers) after activities and the kids have no class. They stand next to tables chatting with their friends and won’t move when you try to get around them. We were there apparently just after a church group had arrived and the kids were loud and a little obnoxious. I know they are teenagers and that’s how they act, but have a little decency and let a 2 year old girl get by you. They have chairs so use them.

I have went here only couple of times, most recent yesterday. I got a sundae that was really good and I do like the cute little red tables and such. They serve Blue Bell which I think is always great ice cream! I am a big Braums fan, but kind of nice to have this place here in Forney.

Dippin Daves provides high quality Blue Bell ice cream at a reasonable price. The interior of the shop isn’t much to look at but the larger servings and low prices are worth the extra trip out of the way and battling the single entrance and exit to their parking lot. Good hometown service that I hope is not squashed if and when Forney gets a competitive chain ice cream shop.
