David’s Restaurant & Delicatessen

Pretty much your standard small town diner experience. The service is friendly and quick, the portions fairly large, and the food is… well…unremarkable. There’s nothing on the menu that you wouldn’t expect to see, nor anything missing from the standard diner fare of sandwiches and burgers. I’ve eaten there sporadically for a couple decades, spanning two locations, and the best thing I can think to commend them on is consistency. You’d be hard-​pressed to spot a difference on the plate if you order the same menu item on any given day. That’s comforting, and it compliments well the comfort food that they serve.

Had an awesome breakfast here during our stay in Fort Bragg. Corned beef hash was delicious, and a ginormous portion too. Hubby had chicken fried steak, which he can be picky about, and loved it too. Would definitely go back.

Friendly and pleasant atmosphere along with good food. Ordered the half order corned beef hash and eggs and that was plenty of food. In Fort Bragg for a short vacation and will go back again tomorrow morning.

Great food with plentiful portions and very reasonable prices. I ordered a breakfast with a ham steak, pancake, eggs, and hash browns and it left me very happy and full. I would definitely come back.

One of the best chicken fried steaks I’ve ever had. Crispy and gravy was good with bits of sausage and bacon. The hash browns were crispy too

David’s is a great go-​to place for breakfast and lunch. My wife had steak and eggs and I had a patty melt. The curly fries were delicious and my friend shared some sweet potato fries with me that were equally as delicious. We will always stop by David’s when in town.

Came to this place for breakfast .
We ordered ranchero with corn tortillas, veggie omelette with country potatoes and side of pan cake. The food was good and generously big quantity. waiters were very courageous. chef came to check about the food, I really like this fact. I like the tomato salsa which they gave with ranchero .
Place is beautifully decorated in country style with pictures and paintings, which you can buy as well but I felt they were really over priced .
Coffee they served was ok, not served with milk, only creamer. I personally prefer milk, that’s the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Great «family atmosphere» and superior service. Our waitress was awesome and kept us laughing. The food is great too. Try their Monte Cristo, it’s amazing!

Definitely recommend if you’re in town and want the local flair, huge portions, great service. No reason to go to Denny’s. Corned beef hash was excellent.

Very good service! Every time our drinks were half full, a waitress would come over and do a refill. You can tell that the girls all work together well and take care of all the customers! Big portions!

Nice little place — mainly locals. Basic food but appetizing and solidly prepared. The service is very friendly and outgoing. Good coffee with free refills. This place is located in a small mall with ample parking available. Recommended! And before I forget it, the owner? comes around and greets the guests — nice touch.

Excellent service. Love the complementary veggies n ranch dressing, when u are seated. Great food, great portions, and great menu. Wish we had this restaurant in Sonoma County.

My family and I discovered this little gem in December. When we arrived then there were a few tables empty, we sat right down, had our order taken and received our food promptly. We were pleased to discover they had a children’s menu, which seems to be a rare find in this «boutique town». It was delicious, even our picky-​eater children finished their meals. And the prices were reasonable.
We decided to spend our Valentines day out on the coast and eat at our new favorite lunch spot. The place was packed, not unexpected given it was a Sunday and half passed noon. We waited about 15 minutes for a table and were told ahead of time the wait for food was about 35 – 40 minutes because the kitchen was backed up with orders. Given the crowd this wait didn’t seem too bad. It took a few extra minutes to get the kids’ menus (we’re not local so don’t really know the menu) and we ordered after another 15 minutes or so. At the 45 minute mark (after ordering) my husband was a bit concerned about how long it was taking since our kids don’t wait well (read: anything past 30 min can be a problem) but since they were doing well we didn’t complain. Mind you, in that period of time my coffee was refilled 3 times and the waitress came to check on us an additional few times, apologizing for the wait. We finally got our order after 65 min and we all devoured our meal. It was delicious. My husband took our 4 yo son for a walk while my 9 yo daughter and I finished our meals. Again, my coffee was refilled and we were checked on often.
So why, after waiting so long for our food, do I leave a 5 star review you might wonder. Because the management (owner) did an amazing thing. She wouldn’t let me pay for our meal. Because everything took so long our meal was comped. I tried to pay anyway, having overheard a conversation about problems on the kitchen, but was rebuffed. I had to go get cash for a tip from my wandering husband, but returned to reassure our waitress that we will be back. The next time we’re looking for breakfast/​lunch in Fort Bragg we WILL BE BACK!

Another great breakfast at David’s. I had the prime rib sandwich and so did my wife. The waitress named Ashley went above and beyond along with the rest of the staff. Always look forward to visiting David’s deli. Best food. Best service in fort Bragg.

Try the biscuits and gravy or the corned beef hash. Hearty food that doesn’t leave you feeling sluggish.
It seems as though the service staff knows most of the patrons, asking about family, health or simply putting in a regular order for them without being asked.
The dirty tables were quickly turned and everyone working was smiling.
We went to breakfast there two days in a row and we pleased with each dish we tried.

David’s is a combination of good food and great people! Our veggie scramble with a side of pancakes and bacon strips was very filling (yes, we skipped lunch that day!!!)
Our waitress was very helpful and extremely nice! (Guess thats a common trait of Fort Bragg locals!) It’s about 2 – 3 miles drive from Fort Bragg downtown and one of the frequently visited breakfast places.

Looking for a good breakfast place in a small town, go where the Sheriff eats. Also the rest of the locals. Hidden in a mall, great local spot, huge portions of traditional bfast fare (great corned beef and hash btw) and really wonderful service. the waitresses here are delightful and happy to give you some more local spots to visit on your weekend away.

Chicken fried ssteak and eggs as good as I make at home… Great!!! Kathi had the half order hash which she loved… it was huge!!! Plenty left for after while.

Holy crap… Hands down, the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. Ever. Lots of meat and pepper and magic in the gravy. I’m convinced there is some sort of witchcraft involved.
Great staff, nice and attentive (without hovering). Our waitress, Simone, was amazing, especially since she recommended the biscuits and gravy.
I wish we lived here.

A no-​frills, heavily local place where most of the diners seem to known each other. Its so nice to find a place like this while traveling as they serve up the traditional breakfast dishes and they do it very well.
