First I have to say that the tech Allen Plumbing sent out was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I cannot complain about the work that was done. I had tried to install a new faucet in my bathroom and could not get the hot water line to sync up and it just leaked a small amount. I tried for three days but got nowhere. Then I tried to uninstall the faucet but got stuck on the last nut and gave up. I needed this fixed as the water to the entire house was off and temperatures were below freezing. I was thankful to get a plumber on the same day. It is their way of billing that makes me very unhappy. I was (unfortunately for me) up front with the plumber; that I was a first time homeowner and had never called a plumber before and that I felt desperate at this point. First mistake, don’t be honest. Because now he knows I am in between a rock and hard place and instead of being helpful, he took advantage of the situation. I admit I signed off on the work before he did it, but again, I felt stuck. To cut my two plastic lines going to the faucet, adding two flexible pipes and two shut off valves and installing a new faucet (not the one I had purchased) and with this taking about two hours which the tech only actually worked about 1.5 hours, cost me $ 1,100…Eleven Hundred Dollars… I have a plumber friend in another state and called him the next day. He said on the outside it would have cost about $ 500. So he felt like the guy knew I was in a predicament and doubled the cost. When it was all said and done that night, I looked at my bill. To my surprise it was not itemized. I really wanted to understand how my bill had gotten over a grand. When I called to get an itemized statement I was told that they do not bill that way. They do this flat rate quote thing. I said, well when the tech made my quote, he had to be pulling the numbers from somewhere — would I be able to see that. Well no, I couldn’t. My advice would be NOT TO USE ALLEN PLUMBING at all or if you have no choice, watch the billing procedure carefully and never let them know you are desperate for help. Instead of helping you out and treating you fairly so that you will be a repeat customer and tell your friends about your wonderful experience, they choose to run up your bill for a one time profit. Heck of a way to do business but to each their own. Lesson learned the hard way to a tune of $ 1,100.

Take your HVAC service elsewhere! Although their field tech was great to work, Allen will never enter my property again. They have attempted to commoditize, and in the process have way overpriced their service.
Had them out to quote on an HVAC service. «$ 1750 to recharge and leak check; but you might as well buy a new unit since this is already half the price of new»
Poudre Valley Air recharged and leak-​checked the system for $ 265. Works great.

I recently received a flyer advertising Allen Service’s $ 39 «famous» 14 point system check and air conditioner evaluation. When I called to make an appointment I asked of what the 14 points consisted. The receptionist was unsure and could not tell me. Unfortunately, I went ahead with the appointment anyway.
When the technician arrived, I got the impression he didn’t know what the 14 point check was either and was prepared to charge me $ 49 vs. $ 39 until I produced the flyer. Then with the A/​C on, he proceeded to remove a screw from the output vent and inserted a temp probe (assuring me that this would satisfy the need to check the coolant level), opened up the furnace compartment, and later visualized the condenser. He made a some «recommendations» (furnace and coil cleaning, condenser surge device) and quoted me some very lofty numbers.
I could be mistaken, but I count about three (3) «points» in this system check. I guess I expected a more thorough evaluation and wrote Allen Service a couple of weeks ago, suggesting they identify in future advertising and with their personnel the areas they are going to evaluate.
I always hesitate giving a poor review to someone without first giving them an opportunity to respond, but since I haven’t heard from them, I’m submitting this.

We recently had air conditioning units installed at our home. The price was fair and they were able to install the next day. Every employee we came in contact with was extremely knowledgeable and professional. They laid down rugs and drop cloths to keep our floors clean. They went over how the system works, maintenance, and warranty. They even left us a gift basket! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Don’t trust these guys. They wouldn’t answer any simple questions over the phone, like «do you use Gastite?». So they made me schedule a consultation for $ 50. We were able to supply the materials and they still wanted to charge us $ 1200 just for labor for a job that is $ 1000 with parts and materials.
What a rip off. Going with someone else.

My service was great. I had to get a new garbage disposal installed, and Jarrod explained my options to my satisfaction. I ended up saving $ 118 (15%) with the service plan, so that was a plus.
He also took a look at a few other things and gave me some recommendations to fix them, showing/​explaining how one would go about fixing them so I feel pretty good about moving forward to fix them myself.

Allen Service responded promptly and professionally to a burst water heater. I opted to replace it with a state of the art tankless water heater. Chance was the technician and he did an excellent job on installing the new appliance. I highly recommend Allen Service for their expertise and knowledge and will definitely use them again.

Both Kevin and Cory were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ease my mind, and install my new water heater as quickly as possible!
The price of my service was very reasonable, but the service was priceless!
I called after hours (does anything ever break during regular business hours? Lol), and was worried I’d get charged an arm and a leg for someone who would act inconvenienced for helping me– but I received just the opposite!!! It’s good up know that there are still service providers who appreciate your business and deliver outstanding customer service!

Expensive but excellent service and quality work! I use another smaller cheaper experienced local guy for most handyman work now but I use Allen for very big stuff, big equipment, major plumbing or hvac jobs, emergencies, etc. I’ve had them do about 3 medium sized jobs for my properties (I’m a prop mgr) and I’ve loved them overall. Be careful to get the pricing options or you will spend too much, but for quality work sometimes it’s worth it on big jobs!

Jim and Thad both came out to do our routine maintenance and were extremely professional and friendly. They respected my home and checked things out very thoroughly. At the end of the service, they gave me several options and allowed me to choose without any pressure. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail and professional approach.

Shocked, $ 2,700.00 to replace. 3 toilets???
My 81 year old father had Allen Plumbing check a toilet that had a slightly leaky flush valve, Allen said The parts were no longer available for his Kohler Cimmaron toilet, but I found them for 14.97 on Amazon, Allen plumbing told them that their 3 toilets should be replaced for $ 2,700.00, Lowes sells them for $ 340. each, BEWARE!!!

Allen Service is very professional. They take the time to explain all the options and let you know up front what the charges will be. They were friendly, curtious and knowledgable and fixed my furnace in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend them.

We could have not been more impressed with the service that Kevin provided to us in the repair of our air conditioner. He was very thorough and explained the processes and options for us to select our repair. We are definitely asking for Kevin when it is time to have our furnace inspected this winter! Outstanding service!

Excellent telephone and appointment process. Technician very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as organized and tidy. Tankless water heater was malfunctioning because of moths in the blower, etc. Was given three options: $ 521 for cleaning and flushing system; $ 1000+ for that plus a bug guard; and $ 1500+ for a new blower motor ($ 80 cost) and other items. I chose the cheapest. No parts needed. $ 200/​hour labor cost for 2 ½ hours of labor.

Had a hose bib burst when the weather was trying to be Spring and needed someone to come out ASAP. First plumber I called was booked for over 2 weeks. Called Allen and they could send someone «this afternoon» and that there would be a $ 49 service call fee if we didn’t have a repair made.
Gerad came as promised and besides looking at the bib, did a whole house plumbing, heating and air overview. Prices quoted were from «the book» regardless of how much time it would take. Interestingly, the price of the fix was just a bit higher than if we bought their whole house service contract which would take % off the bill that would make it lower.
He was an excellent salesman and I wouldn’t want to play poker with him but he replaced the bib and the grass seed didn’t all die. Needless to say, we took the contract rather than pay $ 49 for no repair.
Service — 5 star (including professionalism and friendliness). Received a call when the serviceman was on his way. Office person was very nice.
Price — 1 star (someone has to pay for their picture on their trucks)

What a professional! For a furnace check. Brandon did go over the furnace with a fine toothed comb. Then, he moved into the kitchen, checking for plumbing problems or any sort, checked the fireplace there as well. then, he did a four-​bathroom review of the plumbing looking for potential problems and to see if there was anything he could prevent from happening with a tweak here or there. He explained everything he was doing and why.
At the conclusion of his visit, he sat down, reviewed everything he checked noting any advisory action and pricing. He was very methodical, concise as well as clear in his presentation of what should be done and why. He presented pricing and made certain I understood what it involved and did not involve.
Hooray for Brandon! You have a winner of an employee and I will definitely request him when and if I need further service!

Couldn’t be more pleased. Did a great job, really above and beyond. Paul was knowledgeable, efficient, polite and the thorough. Got a nasty backed up main pipe clog cleaned out, and squared away and well worth the money. Also got our hvac evaluated, cleaned and serviced. I will never use a different provider !!

Called them for an easy fix on a copper t-​joint that had a small leak. Tech came out ($ 49 for service call) and then quoted me $ 414 for the fix. I asked him to explain the quote and he told me he had to charge 1.5 hrs towards driving himself to my house and developing the quote. What was the $ 49 charge for? he was also nasty to my wife. No thanks
