Found this place while walking around Old Town. It’s an inviting little shop utilizing a minimalist design and décor. I was greeted with a smile by a friendly, younger blonde lady. She gave me her recommendations on which cupcakes to try my first time there. Her insights were impeccable. Unlike the commonplace ruse that lesser bakeries use to cash in on the red velvet craze, the red velvet cupcakes here are true red velvet. That’s the difference with a good bakery like this. The others just add red food coloring to their chocolate mix and portray it as red velvet. Not here. I was also told to try the vanilla bean. It was very good as well; although, I found the red velvet to be better. Their frosting was creamy and smooth; not granular like some bakeries I’ve been too. The cupcakes were just the right size for a quick snack and had a proportionate amount of frosting. If you’re in the area, I would recommend stopping by, saying«hi» to the friendly staff, and trying a cupcake or two.

Oh Em Gee! This place gets me in trouble every time! Diet, what diet? I love love their cupcakes! This cute cupcake bakery is my favorite by far, I wish we had one in Denver, but this place is a must visit when I come home to visit. The service is always pleasant, they are super nice and the owner is too! Their Velvet Cupcake is to die for, maybe not, but it’s pretty amazing. My new fave is the Berry Very Cupcake, the Chocolate too of course! The bread is moist, but not too moist. The icing is perfect! So creamy and not too sweet, just perfect. If you’re in So FOCO, stop by! They have a shop off of College and Horsetooth as well. Eat cupcakes!!!

Wonderful cupcakes — especially Saturday’s ‘yummy’ cupcake it’s truly Vanilla goodness with a hit of jam in the middle. A must stop if you travel to Fort Collins. Be sure to call ahead or drop in early as they often sell out by the end of the day. Love the mini cupcakes which are two bites of cupcake pleasure without the calories of a whole cupcake. Makes sense right? Like weighing yourself while standing in one leg :)

This place definitely does not deserve greater than 3 stars. If you’ve ever been to or experienced Georgetown or Alexandria cupcakes, nothing will ever hold a candle to those places. We had the red velvet and the dubliner. The red velvet didn’t have a traditional red velvet taste and the dubliner fell apart after one bite-you’ll need a fork to eat that one. 3 stars because the taste was… ok, not bad. I get they’ll never get as good as Georgetown or Alexandria.

I was really excited to visit Butter Cream. It’s a lovely, clean establishment. The staff was super nice. I just didn’t care for the cupcakes. I ordered 2 minis: Chocolate Icing on vanilla cake(?) and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry. I found the cake to be more dense and on the dry side, like a cornbread muffin. Also, it was too sweet and I have a massive sweet tooth. Most baked goods have salt in them to create a more balanced flavor. I felt like that balance was missing. The were very pretty cupcakes, though.

Decided to stop in here with friends and sample the cupcakes. I don’t think this would usually be my kind of place for the price. We bought 5 cupcakes and it was over $ 17. That’s enough to stop me making a second visit already! But the cupcakes were nice — being both fresh and tasty. I guess they are in the same price bracket as an ice-cream, but my I can’t seem to convince myself that $ 3 per item is good value. Service was great, matching everything we have come to expect from Fort Collins friendly welcoming culture.

Ok, I’m a sucker for cupcakes, pretty much any cupcake will turn my head & perk my ears. Given that, however, these cupcakes are especially delish. You can taste that they are made with natural, good quality ingredients. The coconut ones they make on Wed. are the best. I have to have little discussions with myself to keep from eating a cupcake a day… Very difficult, these über yummy cupcakes, kinda not fair how good they are. Great to take to parties or to the office instead of donuts(hint to anyone who is my office, cough, cough!)

There’s a cupcake craze, so I’ll spare you the rant of how overpriced I think cupcakes are. Butter Cream’s prices are actually a bit of the average-low end of the cupcake world. Regular size: $ 2.95 each, Mini size $ 1.65 each Went with the two pack mini cupcakes so I could try the seasonal pumpkin and finish off with a chocolate. If you like a drier cupcake loaded with a spoonful of super sweet frosting, you’re gonna love this place. I, on the other hand, prefer the super-dense and moist cake sans frosting(or with a less sweet frosting), so wasn’t a huge fan. I think cake(and frosting) is a personal preference thing. My friend also ordered a mini two pack, but with pumpkin and orange and was ridiculously happy with the cake and the frosting.

I have no complaints about the service whatsoever. I was instantly greeted, welcomed, and asked if it was my first time to visit the establishment. It was. This particular location is their«satellite» location. The quality of the cupcakes… now that’s a different story! I sampled the peanut butter and chocolate mini cupcakes. I’ve had better cupcakes to say the least. For the price one pays to savor a cupcake, the taste is a huge letdown. Unless you are willing to pay hefty for mediocre cupcakes, don’t go here and waste money. Perhaps their baker for the day had an «off» day. But the quality was just not there.

I’m not a cupcake person, so keep that in mind when you read this. The service was excellent and I decided to give it a go. The cupcakes was better than most cupcakes I had before. I tried a pumpkin and a white chocolate raspberry. They were both moist. The pumpkin was rather good though a bit too christmary. The other mostly tasted of potato and butter.
