Rented a basic hybrid bike for a half-​day for $ 15. Staff were friendly, bike performed fine. Easy out-​the-​door access to the north-​south bike path and from there, you can connect to the other bike trails. Fort Collins has awesome bike trails all over town and interconnected. They said they do rent bike racks, I might do that next time just to get further out of town to start.
Only complaint was that the saddle was really uncomfortable — worst I’ve ever sat on – but, given it’s a lower end rental bike, it’s probably not worth it for them to replace it.

I thought this place was great! Came here to rent a bike for Tour de Fat. The employee on the phone went to check and make sure they still had rental bikes left. We showed up and there was a huge selection– also I got to pick any bike I wanted which was the best part! Only $ 25 for a bike rental, and we didn’t have to bring it back until the next morning. Such a good deal!!! Will definitely be back.

I had a good experience. I went in to get my bike tuned up and rent another for Tour De Fat. They were very busy and I feel they communicated very well. I feel the prices very very reasonable

Their name is totally misleading. Every bike that I saw was brand new. There was a sign toward the back that said «vintage bicycles upstairs. It looked like an off-​limits area, but I took a gander anyway. I ran into a pile of storage boxes, but no bikes. They did have tons of cheap exercise bikes, also new.
They were pretty understaffed on one of the days that I visited. There was one guy running the store and one guy in the repair shop. I waited at the repair counter for someone to help me find a certain product and to help me with some basic maintenance, but nobody ever came to help. Another person stepped in and waited at the counter so long without anybody so much as greeting him that he just left. My wife was browsing the store, so I had to stick around.
Their prices are pretty good. I think you can at least get an okay bike for less than $ 400 – 500. If you’re like me and you’re not such a crazy cyclist that you need to reduce the drag on your noggin, then you’re in the right place. They’ll get your dome covered for cheap.

I had a terrible experience with the service shop. Went into get a new cassette replaced because my chain was skipping at the same spot over and over. Bike tech wouldn’t even listen to me and insisted my chain needed to be replaced. Bought a new chain and road back the next day because it was still skipping… purchased a new cassette and asked if they could install before 5pm, so I could ride home. Went at 5 and the bike was not ready, so I asked if I could bring it back the next day. The next day at 430p got a call that my bike was ready, went to pick it up and it was not ready — whoops! One more day and it was ready. Had to pay extra to adjust the gears to the new cassette and it still was not adjusted correctly.

Don’t waste your money here. The manager is rude and talk to you like he is doing a favor to you by selling a bicycle. No customer service, prices are way too high. Never gonna go back to this s place.

Wow! With the amount of people that have been coming into the shop, the service guys really have displayed over the top customer service! I am so impressed with their attention to detail and patience in handling a «chaotic group of customers».
I had purchased a used bike from Recycled Cycles last November and was not able to get a complimentary tune-​up until I busted out my bike again this spring. I called beforehand to ask if it was alright that I cash in my Tune-​Up this late in the season, and Nick said that it would not be an issue.
When I arrived the same afternoon with my bike, I was able to get my bike looked at right away. As soon as Nick started looking at my bike, 6 other people lined up to have their concerns address. Nick graciously connected with each customer and was able to get other folks what they needed and while tuning my bike up simultaneously. I overheard Nick mention to an associate that he had been off of the clock for 45 min and was still there give 110%.
This excellent display of customer care is exactly why I would recommend other people to this business. and to the Manager of this place, please give credit to Nick and let him know how much I appropriated his off time in taking care of me, and also others. He deserves a pay increase:) or at least overtime!

We came from out of town to visit the area and to go biking since we heard Ft. Collins is very bike-​friendly. After not planning and finding out the bike library in town was out of bikes, we were referred here. I think we received a great value for the service and bikes. Erin, helped us pick out two hybrid bikes for touring around the city, and gave us helmuts and a lock to use. They were open until 6p on a holiday, which was plenty of time to bike around and return the bikes. The bikes rented for $ 24.95 for the day which is more than the library, but the service and options of bikes were well worth the extra money. Looks like you still support a local business too. You can pay $ 10 more high performance bikes if serious road cycling or mountain biking are in your plans. We were given a map and suggested trails which was helpful. General comment on the town– my partner and I are horrible with directions and every time we got lost, a local helped us out.

I really want to like these guys. They’re extremely conveniently located for me, on my daily bike commute.
I’ve been in several times for service but each time left with a bad taste in my mouth.
One quick example:
I took my road bike in to get a thorn resistant (long stem) tube installed. They didn’t have any in stock (which they never do) and I let the mechanic talk me into letting him install a short stemmed tube. I shared my concerns about not being able to air my tires up at home because he used an air compressor and it aired up fine… but I told him I don’t have an air compressor, just a bike pump. He assured me again it would be fine and that I would be able to air it up at home.
Now, fast forward a week or two. I need to air up my tire and guess what… I can’t. So that bike sits there for several weeks unrideable until I can load it up and take it back to them.
I finally get time to bring it in and they look at me like an idiot. I explain to them the situation and that I was disappointed with them. They still don’t have any thorn resistant long stem tubes in stock so they install a regular tube for me… EXCEPT THEY CHARGE ME FOR IT AND CHARGE ME ANOTHER INSTALL FEE!
I explained the situation again and suggested to them that I should not have to pay for this and they replied «well you at least have to pay the mechanic».
To top it off… I ride away on my bike and before I even get around the corner, that same tire pops. I walk my bike home defeated and vow to never return.
This is just one of four poor experiences I’ve had with them. I want to like their store, I want to be able to stop by on my way to work and have them help me out… but I just can’t anymore. I’ll take my bike up to Old Town or somewhere else from now on.

I didn’t know much about bikes, but I knew I wanted one. I found a salesperson, told him my price range, and how I wanted to use the bike. He picked out three options, set me up in the parking lot for a few test drives, and I made my pick. The service I received was friendly and fast, and I felt as though I ended up with a great product.

I dropped in on a Sunday, a little after 5pm. Closing time is 6pm but I was in the market for a bike, money in hand and figured I could find something rather quickly. I found a couple of bikes I was interested in but came up against a problem, no one to help me.
The one guy at the register was busy with what was clearly a high maintenance customer so I figured he wasn’t going to be available for a while.
The only other employee I saw was busy rolling bikes in. Now I’m used to getting pretty good customer service from the businesses I frequent. The usual «How are you sir? How can we help you?»
I got nothing here. I made clear eye contact 3 times and this kid ignored me. These bikes aren’t cheap and I don’t think I should have to chase down an employee to get some help. So after the 5^th circuit around the bikes I gave up and went home.
Maybe early morning is better for these guys. Possibly a little more interest in helping customers than in getting home.

This store used to be the best place to get used bikes and a great price. Now their prices compete with new shops. Every once in a while you find a gem for the right price, but not when you need it. Customer Service has gone up quite a bit though (with their prices).

I forwarded my previous review to the management staff of Recycled Cycles. Due to the very positive, professional response I’ve received from them, I happily update my review.
The impression I got of R.C. was based on an immature employee, not on the management staff or the business itself. The owners of the store assured me that Harlie’s behavior would be addressed and taken seriously, and that his words were in no way a reflection of Recycled Cycles’ values. One of the managers (a woman) was appalled at his words regarding women’s knowledge of bicycles, and another one of the managers expressed that it is regularly their practice to personally adjust bikes to their new riders.
Based on the emails I’ve received from the management staff, I have confidence that I had a fluke experience. I’ve already bought a bike elsewhere, but I will be going back to R.C. for my accessories.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I want people to know about my experience. I was interested in a bicycle that was marked down from 1400 to 900 because it had scratches on the paint. I don’t mind a scuffed bike and the deal seemed good until I did some research on the model. I found several stores that sold the same bike (not scuffed) for 850. I talked to the salespeople about it and even though they were friendly, they wouldn’t do more than match the competitor’s price.
I wasn’t about to buy a damaged bike for the same price that other stores were selling as new. I walked away feeling that either they charge WAY too much for their bikes or they had marked it up with the discount just to make it look better, which I think is very dishonest.
I ended up at Loveland Cycle n Fitness and not only did they have the same bike in perfect condition for less, but they offered me a discount on the upgraded model. It was a better deal than I’ve found anywhere, even searching on the internet. Loveland Cycle has my business from now on– I won’t be shopping at Recycled Cycles any more.
UPDATE: After leaving my review, I was contacted by the general manager of the store. We had a very good discussion about my experience and he assured me that it is not their practice to price gouge, but that the original price of the bike had been marked incorrectly. He listened to my feedback and seemed genuinely concerned that I was disappointed with my experience. Even though what’s done is done and I won’t be buying a bike from them anytime soon, he went out of his way to regain my goodwill as a customer. I’ve updated my rating to three stars to reflect my approval of this good follow-​through.

For the lousy old bike that I had they took it off my hands and gave me $ 25 dollars for it. Considering how much I disliked that bike on levels of comfort and them actually paying me? I think it was more than a fair trade off! Hopefully they can work their magic on it and make it a better bike for someone else.

I found some hand weights here for a very reasonable price. The service we fast and friendly.
I purchase a bike here a while ago and it also we are good deal. Certainly a place to check out if you are in the market.

Great place for bikes, been around the block and they cannot be beat for price, or service

Seems like a great local source for bicycles, bike parts and strangely, random fitness equipment. They had some great free weights that I wanted to buy, but I figured bringing them back on the plane to California would probably not be a good idea.
We came here to rent bikes for our mini «brewery and t-​shirt tour», and they had a pretty good selection of mountain bikes and cruisers. I chose a mountain bike and Angie opted for the cruiser… didn’t seem to make a difference since we’re both suffering from «saddle pains» today, definitely not the fault of the bikes though! It cost us about $ 25 and they were cool with us bringing them back a little over 24 hours later.
