Kafé Kalik Bar & Grill

DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want FOOD POISONING! I ate one of the (cooked) sushi rolls at Kafe Kalik last week and experienced the WORST food poisoning of my life. It started on the plane and continued for 5 DAYS and counting.
I cannot think of a worse place to have food poisoning than on an airplane.
Efforts to contact management about the issue were futile — the company’s listed phone numbers are out of service, emails bounce back, and the terminal catering manager, FLL Lauderdale F&B, does not reply to any mode of contact.
People are STILL EATING this food as we speak.
Don’t be one of those people. DO NOT EAT HERE under any circumstances.

Stopped here while waiting for our next flight. They were serving breakfast and there were only three items on the menu to choose from. I chose the breakfast burrito, which was simply eggs, meat and cheese in a spinach wrap. I asked if I could get onions and peppers added to it and was told no. That being said, the burrito was OK. I ended up dousing it in mango hot sauce. My boyfriend got a breakfast sandwich which was equally as mediocre. Service was good; the woman waiting on us was very nice. We spent about $ 20 +tip for our breakfasts and two coffees (typical airport prices).

Granted I didn’t come to the airport for the gastro experience, but I also didn’t give Kafe Kalik Bar and Grill $ 12 dollars for the chance to fill the closest garbage can either. To be far I did eat half of the wrap but I simply couldn’t/wouldn’t force the other half.
Grab-​in-​go food has the ability to be decent, but they have decidedly went the cheap route here knowing they aren’t attracting a strong returning customer base. –luckely we have Unilocal am I right???
I can’t speak for the hot food but the cold grab-​in-​go really aren’t worth their salt… (hmm salt, maybe a little flavor next time Kafe Kalik??) These wraps are Cisco cold cuts and Cisco tortilla wraps 100% –seen them, bought them and unfortunately eaten them all to many times.
To make this rant official; the coffee could use some improvement too.

Enviroment are ok, prices are Airport high… draft ShockTop is awesome. lol… good if ur international flight is delayed…

Should be a minus star… Service bad, food crap. Servers can easily work for bulk pick up and can’t keep themselves awake.

Best bar ever to get some alcohol before taking a plane. Strongly recommend the Baby Bahama burgers and the Goose Ipa Beer (expensive bt worth it). Bartenders are nice too!

Quite often a walk up bar/​restaurant is all about the service. He may not still be here when you have a stop in, but Craig was the guy today.
I don’t normally spend time in a review pointing out a specific person, but this guy was cool peeps
He was patient with a group of knucklehead girls who didn’t know what a conch or a fritter was. He was cheerful despite working at the end the long walk way of the international wing. Needless to say the service was great.
The spread of boat drinks that you could choose from was great, but the tanguray and tonic suited me fine. The shrimp I snacked on was especially good. Better than most I would say.
If you have a few minutes and need a drink for the flight or a bite to tide you over, Kafe Kalik is solid.
Oh, and did I mention they will make things off the menu. Even some spicy mayo if you like.

This place sux to be in Fort Lauderdale airport, this airport terminal is small enough with out taking more room plus the seating sux, and 1 beer cost you $ 7.46 for a hot one at that, the place is dirty and I saw staff touch things without gloves then they put gloves on, no hair nets for staff like the sushi bar wearing stupid dred locks I mean WTF, if the health department made a surprise visit they would shut this place down this place is freaking GROSS, DON’T EAT OR DRINK HERE FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING

I should have checked Unilocal first. I ordered the chicken sliders. The chicken was the driest I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is overpriced.

worst restaurant ever… the food is crappy… the cashier is unfriendly and they charge two hot water for 4 dollars!

Got to the airport early on a rather busy holiday so we could sit and eat dinner. Not the best idea I guess because the «nice» places had a huge line. This place was towards the back of the Spirit Airlines Terminal and a little less crowded, but pretty decent for airport food. I loved the sweet potato fries and the yummy sauce they give you on the side. As far as airport food goes, I’ll give it an «alright.»

We had a long wait at the Fort Lauderdale Airport so we decided to eat here. The service was great. Our waiter was kind and attentive and took care of our dissatisfaction with their food items. I ordered the coconut shrimp and conch soup. The coconut shrimp were extremely hard and did not taste well. The soup tastes like they had just opened a can of Campbell’s vegetable soup and added some conch pieces. My friend ordered the burger sliders and the outside seemed overlooked while the meat was still pink. Won’t be trying this place again.

Awful airport. Nothing good to eat in the terminal, What is there has not enough seating and the people are rude! At Kafe Kalik If you occupy «their table» for more than 45 minutes (even after waiting for a table yourself) they will ask you to leave. We barely got a spot at the bar area, and when we tried to move to a table to order more drinks and appetizers (had a 5 hour layover) they asked us to leave so that other people could have the table (even though there was another table). Between my connection in and out of here and issues both times I will NEVER fly out of it’ll through this airport again! And if you have plenty of time before your flight or a connection, take a cab off site and eat elsewhere. BTW if you have a flight out of a certain terminal, you cannot go to another terminal to eat either. Terrible service all around!!!

This is one of the only choices in the airport and because of that I think that is why the employees do not care and food is horrible. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
