I visited Preston’s Wine & Martini Lounge on Monday, December 28th for a holiday party held by the Republican Party of Broward County. Although I have visited the Riverside Hotel on numerous occasions, I never had a chance to dine or drink here. Hanna was my server. In fact, Hanna was the sole server for several dozen individuals attending the party being staged by new party chair, Robert Sutton. The one plus was that Sutton had arranged a «Happy Hour» rate for his guests. The individual service was great, but a full star has been deducted for the fact that Preston’s had only ONE server on duty for this party. Several dozen party goer’s and only ONE wait staff. My order was very simple. 3 Bacardi & Cokes and a Rock Shrimp Appetizer. My drinks were made to order. The Rock Shrimp had a spicy sauce that made the shrimp pop. Poor event management led to a lower rating for this visit. No excuse to have a long line at the bar and a 15 minute wait per drink or food order. Hanna, though, was very friendly — just overworked. /s/William E. Lewis Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida.

Dog” yappy”” hour on Sundays 5−7pm. ½ price drinks and appetizers. Plus, milk bone biscuits for the dogs! You can sit on the outside patio or inside. There is sofa/chairs like you are in someone’s home. Plus there are high top bar tables. This is a dog friendly hotel so they encourage the locals to bring their dogs by on Sundays. There were many regulars there the night we went. Staff was friendly and liked having the dogs there. We had the grilled cheese bacon sandwich. It was delicious and the bacon was super crispy. It is served with a side of creamy tomato soup that was really good. There is parking behind the hotel in a garage or valet parking. You can also park along Las Olas and pay the meters.
