Sun Tower Suites

Chris and the Staff at this Resort are awesome. My wife and I stayed there for a work/​anniversary. The resort was like none I have ever stayed at. It’s a Mom and Papa resort that has the quality of a larger resort.
I come to South FL a lot for work. I will Be staying here from now on.

My husband had an overnight business trip in Ft. Lauderdale & I decided to tag along. An unexpected work problem created the need for a second night at the last minute. The staff was extremely helpful and got our second night booked. I had a great day hanging around the hotel, using the pool, and dining at the Sandbar Grille. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. Our suite was clean and spacious, our bed was comfortable, and the view was beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel for vacationers or business travelers.

What a surprise! Last minute chance taken to stay here. This is a very ‘quaint’ place. However, the customer service is anything but quaint! From check in to check out, you are treated with respect and appreciation. Definitely check out the Sandbar Grill and Jackie. She will take care of you for sure! The beach is quiet and perfect.
I will definitely stay here again. That’s a guarantee. Thanks, Sun Tower!

We had a great experience staying here for two nights before heading to Key West. We booked online for a good price, but when we arrived, we found that they had upgraded us to one of the nicest suites for free, because they had overbooked our room. We had a balcony overlooking the restaurant and ocean, a living room, separate bedroom w king bed, and a small kitchen. The beach and pool area were both very nice. Also, Chris who checked us in at night was very friendly and helpful. All in all, we wish we would’ve stayed longer.

Beautiful hotel RIGHT ON the water. Got a balcony suite, ocean facing. Nice King size bed, spacious sink and mirror area in bath, small tub. Nice pool, but NO HOT TUB. Bummer. Hidden resort fee upon check in that was not shown on original booking invoice. Fee Includes beach towels, chairs, kayaks (that we didn’t use), wifi (never worked), and parking (limited spots). The hotel bar only has beer and wine. The concierge shop has vending machine snacks 24 hours. The hotel café is AWESOME for breakfast. Would go back.

My husband booked our four night stay on the internet, and as usual we are always nervous about seeing the place in person. The Sun Tower was great! It’s cozy and eclectic, with a homey feel that starts at the front desk. We arrived early on a flight from Nashville, and Bill was SOOOO helpful to us. We dug out our swimsuits and headed to the beach, while Bill stored our bags and even put our groceries in the fridge!
The room was clean, spacious, with a perfect view of the water. Mike and Regis on the beach had our chairs and towels ready for us each morning. Having the SandBar Grille so close was so convenient! Order the conch fritters as often as you can because they rock. Food prices SOOO reasonable. The front desk staff was so helpful in getting us transportation.
We definitely plan to stay there again! Great job Sun Tower!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Sun Tower. We were only going to spend 2 nights here before heading to Universal Studios, but convinced hubby to spend an extra day at Sun Tower and one day less at Universal… and we were so glad we did. Great room… steps off the beautiful beach. Wonderful staff that treated us like family. Looking forward to going back in 2015. One and only complaint is the WiFi isn’t very good.

This place was absolutely FABULOUS! It was more than what we expected it to be. The service was really outstanding (super friendly staff, quick check in/​out, beach chair/​umbrella service, clean towels at the front desk for the beach/​swimming pool… etc). Parking is free, internet is not. Every detail had its charm. The beach was super clean. But the absolute best was the oceanfront king suite we stayed in. The view was priceless. The kitchenette was very well equipped. Everything was great. I highly recommend this place.

My husband booked a 5 day mini vacation at a different hotel and had to switch to Suntower Suites last minute; and I’m SO glad he did!
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale from San Diego on a red eye flight and were beyond exhausted and wanted nothing more than to check into our room, shower, and nap. Usually check in isn’t until 4pm and seeing it was only 11, we thought we were in for a long, hot miserable day. But Carlos at the front desk was amazing and took care of us, and let us check in early.
The rooms were spacious and clean and had a view to die for!
The restaurant on site was so convenient not to mention had amazing food! So nice to be able to walk off the beach a few steps for a meal without having to deal with parking, packing up, etc.
The beach boy attendants were such hard workers and very polite. They took care of The Hubs & I every day! Setting up chairs towels and umbrellas and occasionally bring us cold fresh fruit to munch on.
Everyone I came in contact with at the front desk was more than helpful. One sweet man even pulled out an umbrella and walked me to my car when it unexpectedly started down pouring. Chivalry is not dead!!!
The pool area tends to get very crowded with noisy children at times, and the beach chairs weren’t the most comfortable… That’s the only thing «negative» I could say about my stay. And for the price & location???
I’d recommend this place to anyone!

I stayed here for 4 nights for partially pleasure/​partially business. The hotel staff members are so friendly, the beach side restaurant has great food without the usual over inflated hotel prices! I will absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

This hotel is in a nice location. It’s not terribly expensive but it’s clean and the hotel Personell are friendly.

We booked a room for my best friends birthday and what a treat! Ocean view with a terrace looking straight out onto the water. The staff was great helping anyway they can! This is a perfect place for a quiet getaway for a group or just even for a romantic couple retreat! If a quiet relaxing place that is literally on the water is what you seek… Welcome home!!! Can’t say enough :)

Happy place. I felt like we were in paradise. A shout out to my friend Tommy! Truly a lovely boutique hotel. Staff just wants to please. The Sandbar Grille is pretty good. Nature gave them a piece of paradise with the beaches. Cozy and casual for a lovely vacation.

A small, boutique, no-​frills hotel that sits along the beachfront. You can’t beat the price and it is absolutely fine for those who are wanting a simple, relaxing get-​away that includes time on the beach. Yes, there are other towering high-​end hotels on the side but their view and beach access is the same as Sun Tower. I am a devoted returnee. Sun Tower works well in the budget.

Stayed for labor day. Smaller hotel. Clean rooms and beautiful views but staff needs training. RUDE front desk staff. Carlos the angry troll as we called him needs an attitude adjustment (looked like he was coming off an all night drug binger). Towels had stains on them. Asked for cleans ones and «clean» ones were stained as well. Undergoing renovations so construction noise was loud and not very relaxing. And «free» wifi is not really free. Hotel left me a bit dissapointed.

When I have to put visiting business or other guest up in Lauderdale for a few nights this is where I have them stay. The ocean views are drop dead gorgeous and its place right smack on the beach couldn’t be better, plus the fact that the rates are reasonable both on and off season.
It isn’t a luxury resort and was never meant to be, but it once was the older part of the next door Pelican Grand Beach Resort, but it occupies and has access to that very same part of the beach that the people next door pay a heck of a lot more to have. Also, for more luxury and meals, one can easily walk next door to the Pelican, having the use of its upper scale restaurant and bar. However, for an afternoon snack the Sandbar Grill of the Sun Tower isn’t all that bad and they do have a delightful little reduced price happy hour.
There pool isn’t the greatest but adequate for a pleasant dip. There isn’t any room service or many other such guest amenities, but what you get is at a bargain rate considering its ocean front location.

So glad i stayed here! Every room has an ocean view, steps from the beach, free lounge chairs, towels and hammocks. Sandbar Grill food was good (fish tacos were great along with the $ 3 beer during happy hour!)
Every room has a balcony. If you have a first floor room like I did, you have a ginormous porch with plenty of chairs and a little table. The weird thing is you share the porch with the room next door. If youre in 913 like i was, you also share your porch with the restaurant. The cool weather kept people off the porch, but i could see it getting annoying if you want privacy. At first I thought it was creepy and weird, but I spent a lot of time on the porch and only saw my neighbor once.. So, what you sacrifice in privacy, you get back in space. The upper floor balconies are tiny.
Rooms looked recently remodeled, bed was comfy and bathroom was very clean. Tv lacked most channels (there were more infomercial channels than regular channels) and wifi was spotty. Staff was super friendly.
Best find was a B Cycle kiosk right in front of the hotel. for about 10 bucks you can rent a bike and ride a mile south to lots of touristy stuff and a great state park. Also, the pelican resort next store has an ATM, and a nice sundry store that was part ice cream parlor and coffee place.

Recently returned from a few day stay and again it was a very pleasant experience. The fairly new addition of the Sandbar Grill offers amazing food (you have to try to the fish tacos) This hotel is small, away from the hustle and bustle, offers a relaxing pool, steps from beach with chairs yet still all close to the main strip on Los Olas. My wife and I plan to return here every year!

This place is a tiny jewel hidden in between two huge hotels but the quality of the food and the service makes it look like it was a skyscraper built by Trump. Ive had a few dishes there, the conch fritters are amazing and are really composed of a lot of conch unlike some who have mostly batter. The environment is very friendly and after eating we just stepped down and had an amazing time in the beach. The view is spectacular and the kite surfers definitely put a nice show while you enjoy a gourmet dinner. The quality and freshness of the lobster served is amazing. It was also a treat to see so many turtle nesting areas and nests all along the beach.

It is a beautiful location and atmosphere.
Pricing is very reasonable especially for the view you get.
Food is great.
It’s not just an ocean view it’s literally on the sandy beach with no road to look over or any obstruction.
Highly recommend for the Sandbar grill.
