The Grand Resort & Spa

First time staying in a resort like this, and it was wonderful. Room was clean and a nice size bed was comfortable, only thing I didnt like about the room was it only had a shower, but not a big issues, the grounds where well taken care off, staff was extremely friendly as well as the other guest staying there. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends staying in Florida. Only thing that threw me off guard was me and my husband where the youngest there by atleast 10 years for him and about 15 years for me not a issue for us at all but some might not be as comfortable with it. Cant wait to stay there again.

We came to celebrate an anniversary and the staff made our visit really special.
We had a problem with water in our suite – not only did they fix it promptly, we had a bottle of bubbly waiting on ice when we got back to our room. Nice touch.
The staff makes this place — highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here and couldn’t have had a more pleasant time. The staff is super friendly, helpful… and cute! When we arrived we were given a tour of the property. Some highlights: everything you need for the beach is provided for free: towels, chairs, etc; there is a grill/​bbq area just for guests to use if you’d like to entertain on property; clothing optional hot tub/​sun deck area (teehee); catered breakfast every day. The whole place has a real Key West vibe in that it is an older property that has been renovated to provide all the comforts you’d expect but still has the charm and character of its former self. An easy stroll to the beach or an über to local restaurants makes this a perfect home base if you’re here for some fun in the sun! We didn’t get to enjoy the spa this time, but I’ve heard rave reviews so we will be back.

Was very excited to try out this spa. However, when I arrived the employee at the front desk was so rude I immediately cancelled my massage and decided to go elsewhere for a spa experience. When I am going to spend good money for a spa experience, I expect the employees to be professional, courteous and kind. Extremely dissappointed.

«what would you change about the resort if you could?» I asked this of my boyfriend as we were walking to lunch one day during our stay and neither of us could come up with anything we would change! we arrived on a friday morning around 11 am (check-​in is not until 3 pm) but the resort staff were so friendly and informed us they’d have our room ready as soon as possible and immediately showed us around the property, offered us breakfast and told us we were more than welcome to do whatever we wanted until our room was ready. we got into our room around 1 pm. A digital sign at the front desk welcomes those checking in that day and we loved seeing our names on the sign! our room was beautiful and so spacious! it was a poolside room complete with a little kitchen area! they had a «welcome card» waiting for us in the room which was such a nice touch! The water pressure in the shower was perfect and the entire set-​up of the room was great – with the TV able to swivel so you could watch it from various areas of the room.
Thursday through Saturday they do happy hour from 5:30 to 7:00 with sangria and an array of appetizers! We were both so impressed at how nice the selection was! Breakfast was also excellent each morning with a large variety to choose from and served until noon. During the entire day there were pitchers of fruit water, lemonade, and ice tea with the selection changing each day. The grounds of the resort were immaculate and towels were readily available for use as were pool rafts and «noodles.» They also offered chairs and towels to take to the beach!
Room service was excellent! You hang up a little pamphlet on the door to indicate what service you’d like and they are extremely timely with fulfilling your request. I cannot say enough about the staff and how professional, resourceful and kind they all were. ALL of them went out of their way to treat the guests like royalty. It was the little touches, like having Brian open the door of the office after checking us in and saying «we really hope you enjoy your stay!» to one of the staff loaning us money for the laundry until we got to an ATM. They were extremely resourceful as well when we had questions about places to go or things to do. Each member of the staff genuinely seemed to care about the guests and their experiences and really seemed to enjoy their job and want to make the resort the best it could be. The staff were frequently out-​and-​about checking to make sure there was enough food/​drink, the pool deck was clean, lighting the tiki torches at night.
We visited the spa while here. We both got mani/​pedis from Paula. Excellent services and she is so easy to talk to! I had a full body scrub from Cesar and my boyfriend did a 50 minute deep-​tissue massage. Normally I don’t like being talked to during these things but it actually made me feel more comfortable and I really loved his stories. I could tell that both of them also genuinely cared about the guests and treated us like guests in their own home. We also used the gym, which was important to me to keep in somewhat decent shape. They have an elliptical, bike and free weights which is just enough.
We will definitely be back here! It’s so close to the beach – 2 blocks – and so close to a lot of great restaurants! All the guests we encountered were very nice, as well, and I think the atmosphere that the staff creates helps make this a classy resort!
Ok, so THE only thing we came up with that we would change would be to do happy hour every day (including weekdays) and maybe just do the food on the weekends. The sangria would be nice though during the week. Other than that, if we could give this place more than 5-​stars we would!!!

My partner had a manicure and pedicure with Paula. Paula is very detail oriented and the services were amazing.

My partner and I have been staying at this resort over the last several years. We have tried others in the local area — but none seem to even come close to the Grand. During our most recent stay, Memorial Day weekend 2015, our group was once again greeted by a warm welcome — it felt like they were expecting us! This time we stayed in the largest 2 bedroom 2 bath penthouse — with the private patio. All I can say is I already booked the same room for later in the summer. The pool is relaxing, the other guests are super friendly, complimentary coffee and light breakfast in the morning, cold lemon water next to the pool all day, secluded, fun, I can go on and on… Maybe we will see you there during the next holiday weekend!

Stayed in room 39 two bedroom apt wow was it ultra swank. Hot tub great, staff helpful, guests friendly. Top hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time

We spent 5 days in room 32, a generous size one bedroom apartment, first floor just off the clothing optional hot tub and steps from the spa.
The entire experience was comfortable, friendly and relaxing. We really enjoyed the thorough and friendly service. We had a kitchenette, living area, small terrace and just off the hot tub and rear parking access.
We had a minor housekeeping problem but they jumped to resolve.
There is some difficulty parking if you return late weekend nights. There’s a lot to do here, sun deck, pool, happy hour, club room, spa, and hot tub. Interesting good looking client mix, a 35+ crowd in an atmosphere that encourages friendliness no sexual competition.
The spa services were excellent. We had couples one hour facial; a delightful indulgence. Next time, I’d choose more spa services.
We’ll definitely go back. Take staff advice and get the larger one bedroom; the hot tub rear section is not noisy and pleasantly social.

While my partner and I didn’t stay here, we did visit the spa for a massage and took full advantage of the pool and hot tub for the afternoon while there. I had a great massage by JD — a week later, and I’m still thinking about it. He had a great — and very professional — touch. Definitely stop in for some R&R, even if you’re not staying here!

This hotel is really great. This is the first time I stayed at an all-​male resort and it debunked a lot of preconceptions I had about them. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very clean. I even had a facial at the spa and it was one of the most informative sessions I’ve ever had, without someone trying to sell me something. If I had to find something to criticize, it would be the wi-​fi. I was in a room towards the front of the hotel and the wifi signal was weak. If I was in bed, I would have to turn on my hotspot from time to time. This was really a find and a great place. So much so that my husband and I are now thinking about making this a vacation destination.

We have stayed at the Grand during our last four visits. Most recently last month. The staff make you feel like you are visiting a close friend for a few days instead of staying in a hotel. They truly go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable. From the happy hours to the umbrellas for the beach they live up to their name. Bravo!

Der Pool ist mit seiner ausreichenden größe im Mittelpunkt der Anlage, ein Jakusie steht noch im hinteren Teil der Anlage bereit in dem Nacktbaden angesagt ist!

On prior visits to Fort Lauderdale, I had been pretty loyal to another resort in the area. However, on my last visit there, it just wasn’t the same and I had heard of the Grand Resort and decided to give it a try. The website looked great, there were some decent Unilocal reviews and the Spa sounded especially impressive. I was definitely not let down!
From the time we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The front desk staff was warm and inviting and even though one of them was in training, they went out of their way to make sure that we felt at home at the resort. We got a complete tour of the grounds and were greeted with cool facecloths, which were much needed on the hot August day.
Not only were we led to our Penthouse Suite on the third floor by both individuals, they insisted on carrying our bags up the three flights of stairs. They made sure we were familiar with the room and amenities and the room was very well laid out. The two bedroom, two bath suite was very comfortable and both bedrooms had king size beds. The beds were so comfortable that for the three nights I was there I slept through the night without waking up until my alarm went off, and that never happens.
There are many options for relaxing. You can sit on the nature walk, relax in the jacuzzi in the clothing optional area or by the pool up front. Good choices for whatever suits you. They serve a continental breakfast in the mornings with a lot of choices and a happy hour in the evenings Thursday through Sunday.
One of the highlights of the stay was definitely the spa. I went all out. Deep sea mud wrap, swedish massage, manicure and pedicure. The staff is warm, inviting, makes you feel comfortable and Olin gives a great massage. If your looking for a spa getaway, their spa is award winning and you won’t be disappointed.
I am on the road every week for work, so it is rare that I take the time to actually write a review for a place that I have stayed. However, The Grand deserves it. I will definitely be back and only wish I could have stayed MUCH longer! Thanks for making our brief getaway memorable.

We were there in December and had a wonderful stay. The staff was terrific, rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, the grounds were immaculately maintained and the pool was just right — «very friendly“clientele as well!
Great place to get away from the cold Chicago winters. we will definitely come back!

Amazing! It was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale and the wonderfull staff made it perfect. Good room great spa and better than I could have hoped for amenities. We will be back.

This place is so great. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are super! The grounds are beautiful and it’s just a short walk to the beach. Can’t beat it for a gay place to stay in Ft Lauderdale!

Stayed here with my partner for anniversary a few weeks ago. An excellent choice. Modern décor, kinda Pottery Barn browns and modern feel. Very good staff, and a quiet enjoyable atmosphere. This is not a sexualized resort, at least we did not feel that in the off season. There is clothing optional back in the hot tub area, but this is not that kind of establishment. The coffee in the morning was very good, they apologize for the fact that they must serve packaged as opposed to home made breakfast bread due to state regulations. A block walk to beach and near other resorts that cater to more party activity, Grand is for grown ups who want to enjoy a trip to FL without walking into a nightclub scene. Parking seemed tight, but we had no problems finding a space. The building was well maintained and very clean. We didn’t try the spa, but were told it is quite popular with locals.
Off season rates were excellent, we will return and certainly would book here during high season as well.

Just because this is a better looking resort than the gay resort we have stayed at twice in Palm Springs doesn’t mean I’m not going to mention that the reception guy brought their stars down to 4. He’s an older guy. Not very friendly at all. In this respect the gay resort we stayed at in Palm Springs blows away The Grand Resort. Another reason they only get 4 stars is because my laptop did not fit in the room’s safe — very lame! The way the safe was placed made it impossible to put the laptop in — regardless of the fact it was technically big enough.
The Grand resort is classy as gay resorts go. When you come in there is a screen on the reception desk that has your name on it. A message on it welcomes you to the resort. I thought that was a nice touch. The rooms are really, really nice and when you walk in you are greeted by music coming from a radio. There are lots of electrical outlets which is really convenient. You get complimentary breakfast — hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, cereal, etc. There are expensive snacks in your room as well as a fridge full of expensive drinks. They actually did come in handy even though they were kind of pricey.
Part of the resort is clothing optional. The jacuzzi is back there. The drawback is that you can run into some slimy guys. We were hanging out at the jacuzzi when some older nude guy popped in. We weren’t nude. He started chatting and all was fine until it was obvious he was trying to see if he could get some kind of action. Lame. Needless to say we left when he started trying to dominate the conversation with sex talk.
This resort is located very close to Sebastian Beach which is the local gay beach! About 10 minutes give or take. If you want to hit a «straight beach» your walk is even shorter. Parking can be an issue. From the resort you get great views of the major hotels. There really aren’t any restaurants or places to get food nearby. You have to walk a little to get to them. We were not here during the peak season and one night we were almost unable to find nearby parking. You can park in front or in a rear lot they have.

The spa at the Grand Resort is truly top notch. A friendly warm feeling, highly talented staff and the leadership of JD Greene, all combine to make a wonderful experience. I have been a guest at the Grand for many years, and I enjoy it each and every time.

For a recent vacation to Fort Lauderdale, I was looking for a place to stay that would be relaxing, private and provide a spa/​resort atmosphere to allow me to pamper myself, something this practical guy doesn’t do often enough. After Internet research and discussions with friends, the Grand Resort and Spa came up several times with positive reviews. It has been rated as one of the best gay-​owned and operated spas in the U.S.
The Grand did not disappoint. The resort is very private with hotel key entrances needed to get in and fence/​wall around the perimeter. Über friendly staff is there to help with whatever you need. They were all so accommodating.
I sprung for the five day pampering package with the pool view room. The package prices were beyond reasonable for all of what you get at the Grand.
The room was large and well-​maintained with great tile flooring, a huge king bed and a big walk in closet. Even the room mini-​bar was quite reasonably priced. The room also included a microwave, a coffee maker and a small kitchen counter area complete with utensils, plates, most importantly, a wine opener.
The grounds of the Grand are lush with plants and palm trees. The spa is in the back area of the resort, where the Jacuzzi and fountain courtyard are located. The Jacuzzi was always a great place to relax before an evening out or turning in for bed.
The staff at the Grand Spa was incredibly professional and very skilled at their craft. Props to Wesley who was the best of the staff members I worked with.
My visit was during the «off» season, so it was a very quiet atmosphere with 20 — 30 guests staying while I was there. The pool, of course, was normally the center of social activity. It was well maintained with pool side happy hours with drinks and food on most days of the week. The only real draw back was not having pool side bar service, but I understood the limitations given the privately owned operation of the resort. Your room has a refrigerator so you can have your own cold beverages as needed.
The Grand is about two blocks from the beach. I spent my time there next to the resort’s pool soaking up rays. The resort’s location is pretty convenient (though not necessarily walking distance) to dining options, and nightlight is about 3 — 5 miles away.
This was my first experience at a gay-​owned resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of spa/​resort experience in Fort Lauderdale. The staff obviously takes great pride in providing a pleasurable experience for their guests.
