Over 5 years I have been going here weekly — I love that they know my name too. I drop off every Saturday(grab a coffee at Starbucks) and the clothing gets delivered to my home on Wednesday. They also have a very talented tailor on staff who does my suit fittings each year.

Do NOT bring expensive things to this place unless you keep careful inventory of what you sent vs what you received. We’ve been using then for years and usually give them about 30 items every couple of months. Recently, my husband realized that an expensive Gucci shirt never came back. When we called, first — it took FIVE calls to get to a woman who is supposedly the owner. Apparently when we called 4 times yesterday, even though they got our information, the owner can’t be bothered to call us back. Then, when we finally got the the owner today, she was incredibly rude to us. To be clear, we should have realized something was missing as soon as we got our order back but all we asked was for someone to check to see if our shirt is still there and for someone to call us back. Apparently this is just too much for ask.

I brought my bridesmaid dress in to be cleaned and when I picked it up the edges of the flowers detail on the shoulder was all frayed. When I asked what happened(I didn’t notice it until after I paid) the woman behind the desk(who I assume is the manager because she is always there) told me that I brought it in that way. The dress is brand new and never worn it had been sitting in my closet for a few weeks and I was getting it cleaned in time for the wedding. I explained to her that I certainly did not bring in a new dress frayed and that I even had a picture to prove that the dress was intact before I brought it in. Her response: «I don’t care what you show me, you brought it in like that.» She didn’t even offer a refund, I had to demand it. Now with only 2 days until the wedding I now have to figure out how to fix it the best I can. I will never go there again.

I tend to disagree with the negative reviews here. I find the folks behind the counter friendly, although it seems like it takes a couple times to get to know them but once you do then its all good. So far I’ve been very happy with the cleaning, my shirts come out soft and they hand iron. I had a suit dry cleaned and it came out well. I had also had a coat altered and it also turned out well.

This place is no worth doing business with. The manager who is running the place is very rude. She treats the customers — at least me and two of my friends– in unprofessional and customer oriented way. The prices are expensive compared to others and they treat customers like«you needs us and take it or leave it». I will never use them any more.

THEIRONERSHERENEEDTOBUTTONUPORSHUTUP! Sometimes it seems that there is a dry cleaners on every corner in Fort Lee. Things that I look for in a dry cleaner are: Cleaning done on premises, Same day service, for early drop-off, and delivery options. Without cleaning done on the premises, it makes it difficult for them to guarantee that same day service will be provided. Also, places that send out their cleaning to other places will tend to cost more as they have to pay the actual cleaner for their services and mark it up for you so that they can take a profit. I am often very busy both during the week and also on weekends, so places that offer both pickup and drop-off delivery service are much preferred to someone like me. By all accounts, Classic Cleaners should be the ideal dry cleaner for me as it as all of these things and even has a full-time tailor there everyday. However, all is not classic nor clean as this cleaners. I’ve been getting my laundry done there for the last two years and if there is one thing they been consistent with with is providing so so service. On several occasions I have had shirts returned to me missing buttons which were there when I had brought the shirt to them. There have even been numerous times when I brought them a shirt showing them which one was missing, watched them as they tagged it to have its button replaced, only to receive my cleaning with the tag pressed to the shirt without any replacement of the button. It was as if the person pressing the shirt completely ignored the long red tag attached by a safety pin as they laundered, dried, and pressed the shirt. It would be one thing if this occurred only on occasion or if the instance did not occur again for many months. Let’s face it, anyone can make a mistake, but over a four week period, this had occurred to me three times. I even spoke directly to the manager about this issue and while they did apologize, the issue had occurred again the very next week. Another issue which I have not been pleased with is their inconsistent ability to make same day service as their sign promises. Let’s face it, if the store opens at 8:00AM on Saturday morning and I am ready to hand over my clothes upon opening, then it would be impossible for me to provide them with any more time to be able to complete my cleaning for that same day. Even though they KNOW that I am THAT customer that has come in as soon as the place opens every Saturday for the last two years, if I do not explicitly say: «Same day service, please» then its not going to be ready for me that day. This game of cat and mouse goes on every time I come in there needs to stop. For now I’ll continue to do my dry cleaning here. To be honest, they’ve never lost any of my clothes have always delivered them to my place(sometimes a day or so late, but it always got there eventually). Its about time that I had a frank conversation with the owner about these missing buttons. Like I said before, there is not shortage of dry cleaners in Fort Lee, but this is the closest one to my house and this should be my ideal dry cleaners. Maybe someday they’ll live up to their name and they really will be Classic Cleaners, but until then I’ll give these guys a chance to clean up their act.

Excellent hand ironing, good alterations guy. Too expensive, and the actual cleaning is only so so.
