I had a very bad idea about going to this place. I just wanted to have a blowdry for New Year party. And while i was having this done the stylist(the owner i beleive) would express her horror how my hair was damaged. She made me feel so bad. And on New Years Eve! Very unprofessional. I dont give. about her opinion! Her job is to smile and do her job! I will make sure she gets bad review everywhere I go.

I’m never going back here again. The first couple times it was okay. I had various stylists throughout my time here. One lady gave my hair a boyish flair. One lady ALWAYS cut my bangs too short *seethes*. One lady cut it just right. But then came the day of my prom. I made an appointment and came in all excited. I asked for SIMPLEWAVES. They ended up CURLING my hair, pinned it up, cutting my bangs WAY. TOO. SHORT. Then, they hair sprayed my hair to oblivion. I swear you could hear a crunching sound every time you touched any part of my hair. I was really horrified. I almost cried on the spot. I went home, washed everything out and redid my hair myself. It was a really big waste of money and more stress than I should have had to deal with. Good thing I found a new salon.

While visiting, decided that it was a good time for a haircut. I had never been to this salon before and decided to give it a try, if they messed up, my hair would grow out. I got my hair cut by a girl named Areum, I think. I asked for a trim with lots of layers and thinning towards the bottom. When it was done, I was very pleased. She straightened my hair with a blow dryer instead of a flat iron and it looked really nice without the damage an iron would do. My hair is curly and I knew it would look different after it curled. The next day after I washed it, I was super excited. My curls never looked better. It had volume without being too big or frizzy. The ends were thinned so that my hair no longer had a pyramid shape to it and the layers gave me my curls back that had been weighed down to waves. After I saw the results, I knew the next time I was in the area, I was going to get my haircut here.

I randomly stepped into this place on a Saturday afternoon and it was the only place that took me as a walk in. This place was alright… Nothing wowed me that I would make an appt and go back. Place wasn’t busy compared to the first salon I stepped in which was down the street. The hair wash was disappointing, lady didn’t give me a proper head massage. It’s like she’s afraid of my was also quick, one shampoo then conditioner. I guess I’m used to getting my hair washed in Chinatown, 2 shampoo and conditioner and they give u amazing head massage and really scratch that scalp OHHHHSOGOOD! Anyways, it wasn’t cheap either compared to the other salons I go to. Haircut was pretty ordinary, wouldn’t go back

You know whether your stylist is good or not, not just by the way your hair looks at the end of a haircut, but also by the way he/she cuts it. This place isn’t as nice/clean/organized as other asian haircut places but the stylists seem to be pretty good at what they do. One thing I cannot stand is when the hair stylist starts up a conversation with you, which is fine but they get so engaged to a point where they literally stop cutting my hair, stand there and gossip for 10 minutes straight. It’s not the engaged in conversation part that bothers me, but I do get worried they might mess up in what I ultimately went there to have them do. I don’t mind small talk, but I go to get my haircut to get my HAIRCUT, not to gossip or to make friends. If you’re a hairdresser and you happen to be reading this, please make a note. Anyway, tried this place for the first time a few days ago, wasn’t a bad experience overall. $ 25 for men’s hair cut isn’t bad as I believe most places charge $ 30 and above.
