Juun Hair

My most recent cut was June 23^rd. I was very pleased as I always am when I leave Juun Salon. My hair designer is Joy. She will be away during the month of July but asked that I post her cell number. You will be able to schedule an appointment with her at this number.

It’s my 2^nd hair cut here.
1^st time when Joy cut my hair, she did such a great job and I LOVED it! And only $ 40 in Fort Lee area? Take my money.
But last week, when I got there another stylist, Kay, cut my hair and she literary chopped my hair off even thought I told her that I wanna keep my hair length. She cut like 3inches but told me she kept my original hair length… ummmm I don’t think so.
I am very disappointed how it came out. I got one of the most unmanageable hair style in my life.
She has very sweet personality but not the skill at least for me.
If I ever decide to go back, I would definitely ask for Joy…

Loved my haircut! I showed the lady a picture and she nailed it. And I can say that she is very meticulous with how she cut my hair! Overall, 5 stars!

Joy does a great job with my hair. Given the spiky texture of my head, I can see how it can be annoying for most hair stylists to handle the cut that I want. Somehow she always finds a way to get it to a point that I’m happy with the end result.
The salon itself is very spacious, clean and they do a pretty good job of handling multiple customers in an efficient way. The folks here are also extremely friendly and do a nice job of handling last minute appointments as well, whenever possible.
Even though it’s a bit of a trek for me to come here, it’s really worth the effort simply due to Joy’s skills and the generally positive experience I always have here.

Recently went back and loved the haircut I got. I would still stay clear if you know you have difficult hair to color, but as far as getting a quality haircut with fine Asian hair I am happy with the experience I had especially given the reasonable price ($ 40 of women’s cut).

I love this place. I really really do. I can’t begin to tell you how many different salons I’ve gone to over the course of my life. Each one disappointed me because the hair stylists NEVER listened to what I wanted!!! They would ask what style I would like and I would point out how long I would want my side bangs. Then, they would cut my side bangs nearly HALF WAY UP MY FOREHEAD. I was absolutely. HORRIFIED. So I ended up cutting my own hair at home for the last couple years, until I read a review on Unilocal about Juun Hair. The stylist here can speak in both Korean and English. She really listens to what you want and executes it so well. If you’re not really sure about what you want to do, she’ll consult you but ultimately the vision and decision is yours.

I fell for the reviews again! First time trying this place out. Im really sensitive when getting my haircut but needed a new spot. Previous hair spot was slacking.
This place i walked in seemed like they had only 2 stylists but i was wrong. One person was the helper. I think the owner cut my hair dont know name. I just needed a evenly side and back cut and a little trim on top. Guess what happens…
All three spots are cut crooked not matching! So i tell her to fix it. She says will do after washing the hair. I think because she wanted to cut the other persons hair while i get my hair washed. Seriously wtf! My hair was cut within ten minutes and she wanted to cut the other guy’s hair within the same.
After she supposedly fixed my hair and put wax on i couldn’t really tell which part needed to be fix and did not even want to bother asking her again. I get home later was my hair and dry, i was just pissed. Had to fix the crooked spots myself for the sides but for my back and top… I can’t fix… Just angry…
For mens haircuts i do not recommend!
Oh i totally forgot to mention, before she cut my hair i told her im trying this spot out because my olde spot was slacking and cutting crookedly, no use… This was also explained to her in her language :(

I keep meaning to review, and now I finally will. Found out about Juun via all the stellar reviews — I’d been going to Shampoo Ave B in LES (a wonderful salon) but the prices plus trek from NJ was a bit expensive; needed to find a financially happier option. For $ 40 a cut, Juun is extremely fair.
I basically wanted the same short borderline-​pixie cut that I’ve had since Spring this year. Though everyone here is friendly, one thing I missed a bit was the bedside manner of a place like Shampoo Ave B: there’s no real chatting and the hair washing is very quick and to-​the-​point.
Maybe I’m drawing a generalization but I noticed that short hairstyles in an Asian salon are cut differently than in an American one. The first one I had from LES, was a lot choppier, with more layers, and looked more «rock» in my opinion.
The one I had here opted for a sleeker interpretation, which I was on the fence about for a bit although I ultimately ended up liking (plus nobody I knew could tell the difference.).
Joy, the main hairstylist here, left my right side longer and asymmetrical which was a nice touch. The second time I had my hair cut here, I walked away a little dissatisfied because it felt a bit too top-​heavy. (For me, I feel like there is a dangerous line between an edgy pixie cut and well, a mom pixie cut.)
I came back the next day and Joy layered and thinned the style out, no questions asked, and was very nice about it, which I really appreciated.
I’ve had so many compliments on my hairstyle since getting it cut here — a lady behind me in line at a bagel shop once tapped me just to say so, and I just had to tell her about Juun. Thanks Joy!!!

$ 40 for a straightforward haircut along with a shampoo & rinse. Great price point for this area of Bergen County and especially for a good place that knows how to cut Asian hair. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and a 5 second look was all she needed to cut it exactly as shown. No criticism, no snide remarks, no «your hair is damaged» upsell attempts, just quiet but pleasant service. Very satisfied with my cut here and I’d definitely come back again.

I love this salon! Joy is simply amazing, very attentive and sincere. My hair had been damaged from a previous salon. She trimmed the dead ends and I got a special treatment done to make my hair healthy again. So far, I am very happy with the results and the price was decent. $ 80 to get haircut and treatment. Thank you!

This is my second time going to Juun Hair. The first time I visited, I had a wonderful experience and left feeling confident that I’d be going back, but I wanted to leave another honest feedback re: my recent visit here. I set an appointment via telephone and upon arrival, I showed the lady a picture of balayaged hair. She told me the process would take close to three hours and the cost would come out to around $ 250. After three hours of sitting at the salon, my hair was nothing close to what I showed her in the picture. I wanted to cry after seeing the results because I knew the bleaching process would have damaged my hair and there weren’t many options left at this point — it literally looked like she dipped the bottom half of my hair into bleach (see photo attached). I tried to pull my emotions together and paid her $ 230 + a generous $ 40 tip. The lady offered that I come back, so that she could make adjustments to make my hair look more natural (.I was the last customer and they were closing), so I agreed to go out of my way again and bus it back to Fort Lee on a weekday. The next day, I visited another salon near my office. I told them that I had gone into a salon in NJ and had requested balayage, and they confirmed that what had been done to my hair was not balayage. I went back to Juun Hair and the lady applied dark toner to my whole head, I told her that whatever was done to my hair, I want it back to how it was before. She did this for free. But, what I am unhappy about is how much money I spent on getting something that wasn’t even close what I had requested, all the time and energy going back and forth, and my now damaged hair from all the chemicals. I would like to write a positive review about this place since the employees are all very sweet. But I really don’t want anyone to go through the same painful experience that I went through…

I am very picky on my hair, but Joy made me happy! :) I asked her to cut hair like one Korean movie star, and she made it happen. Will go there again next time.

Had haircut and color with Joy and she did not disappoint. She listened to exactly what I wanted and was very patient as I asked her to constantly make little changes to my haircut. I wasn’t sure what hair color I wanted before I came in but Joy gave great recommendations and my color turned out great. Everyone else in the salon who assisted did an amazing job. Would definitely be going back.

Our first time here at Juun Hair since they changed management. Joy, the main hairstylist is a pleasure and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Me, my husband, and our little one all in one place and each of us got great cuts. Wifey of course got highlights and was very happy, she is normally very picky.
Competitive prices to other salons in the area and more importantly, skilled. Definitely coming back.

Thank you everyone for your reviews. I felt obiligated to write one since I always rely on other reviews, and this place was really what all the reviews said.
I ended up not going to work last Monday and called in the AM for an appointment. They had availability for me and saw me right on time. Based on all the reviews, I asked the lady helping me if she was Joy, and indeed it was her.
She was super nice and listened to what I wanted. My last hair stylist of over 10 years moved back to Korea and I’ve tried a few places on Broad Avenue, but neither really took the time to make sure I got what I wanted. Joy was very good though, has a lovely demeanor and did a great job with my hair. It has been over a week and I still love it!

JUUN Hair Salon is now my go-​to place to get a haircut or anything else that I need to treat my hair. I can’t help but to leave feeling extremely pleased and satisfied with the overall results.
Ever since I was growing up, I was always brought to these Korean hair salons and left with the weirdest undesirable haircuts. Disappointingly these Korean hair stylists felt the need to always neglect whatever hair style I wanted and ignored whatever I deemed would be nice on me. They would take their own personal style and style it on me and the results were always disastrous and extremely upsetting.
However stumbling upon looking for a decent hair salon, I came into JUUN HAIR looking for Joy. She is by far the best of the best. I can’t help but to feel so thankful that I found someone who listens and is extremely careful with everyone’s input in what they want with their hair cut or style. She is someone I want to continually keep in contact with. Please if you live around the Bergen area or is in desperate need of a resourceful and extremely talented hair stylist, come to JUUN HAIR for JOY! :)
Nonetheless the salon is amazing and it’s a quiet comfortable place. It is located on the second floor so don’t be alarmed if you can’t find it! Other than that, I really hope that we can continue to support a business like this and I will continue to be a loyal customer here!

This was my first time at this hair salon. My usual hair dresser is hard to get a hold of, so I’ve been searching around for other options. Made an appointment two days prior with Joy and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by name. Amazing!
I was directed to the hair washing area and was given a deep conditioning treatment while I waited. Joy was very helpful. She listened to what I wanted and also offered some suggestions that she thought would look nice.
She also gave me tips on how to properly care for my hair and reminded me to go back every 3 months for a trim. In the end, a wash, deep conditioning treatment, hair cut, and blow out + straightening with a flatiron only cost me $ 40. I would definitely revisit this salon in the future.
