Went here to have our taxes prepared based off positive google reviews. Arrived, signed in and waited two hours for someone to be available. This was understandable given the busyness of tax season and the fact that they don’t take appointments. When it’s finally our turn we sit down and the woman glances over our documents and immediately tells us they cannot help us because they don’t know anything about preparing taxes that have rental property income and said it also looked like we were missing information from last years return though she was unable to identify what document was missing. Told us that she hated we had to wait all that time for us to find out that our return was too complicated for them to handle but they were just two employees and neither of them was familiar with how to prepare our return. She said if we had shown up in January and she’d had 4 months to research tax laws that she might have been able to help us but because it was 3 weeks until taxes were due, they were too busy to figure it out.
While I can respect the fact that she was honest in telling us she was not confident enough to prepare the taxes, it was frustrating to have waited all that time for nothing. I wish that on their website that instead of saying they have 49 years of experience and can prepare ALL taxes that they would be honest and admit they are only capable of processing a very straightforward return. It would have saved us a lot of time and trouble. And as a side note, she was wrong about us missing documents from last years return. The next place we went was able to successfully prepare our taxes and said no information or documents were missing.
