the Mojave Crossing Equestrian & Event Arena is a great addition to the tri-state area. Now instead of sweltering in oppressive heat, fighting the wind from blowing away a hat, and having only porta-potties at one’s disposal while watching rodeo, bull riding, or other equestrian events, spectators can enjoy an air-conditioned, temperature controlled, enclosed arena with comfortable individual plastic seats, seat backs, and cup holders; and have modern restrooms available inside the facility. Without accompanying wind, even the moistened soil of the arena spreads little or no dust on ticket holders. This is a big change from outdoor arenas. I first experienced this fine facility this past weekend at the Avi River Stampede PRCA Rodeo. Lighting and sight lines are excellent. There is no public corridor before the first row of concrete bleacher sections to have to endure the annoyance of a continual stream of walkers. And, one can easily see over the metal railing from the second row on up. General admission seats in relative Siberia are available, but seating in a reserved section to be much closer to the action is probably well worth the extra cost. I commend the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe for creating and funding such a fine facility that benefits local residents on both sides of the Colorado River, as well as guests of Laughlin casino-hotels. And, I already have my reserved seats for the next live event to be held here: the Fort Mojave Classic PRCA Xtreme Bulls competition, which will be televised.
