Craft Beer Brewery and tasting room near Sanibel Island in Fort Myers, FL. We specialize in quality pale ales, sour beers and IPAs but have many other great craft beers. New beers on tap weekly. Our beers are on tap in the tasting room and flights and pints are available for purchase. You can also take a growler or Crowler (32 oz. can) to-​go! Quick food delivery is available to the brewery. Open mic night Tuesday nights, Jazz Thursdays and live music Fridays. Small batch releases weekly on Saturdays. Check our events page on our website.

History

Established in 2012.

Point Ybel Brewing Company is a small batch craft beer brewery giving new meaning to «island hopping.» Our tasting room is named «Hurricane Hole.» This current location has been open since December 2013 and with over 80 different craft beers brewed in our first year of operation, you will always find new and exciting, quality craft beers on tap weekly.

Our new 4 barrel system and five (5) 8 barrel (252 gallon) fermenters have arrived and we are brewing craft beer as you read this. Our little ½– barrel SABCO Brew Magic V350MS System is the pilot system at our brewery. This state of the art pilot system is perfect for efficiency, repeatability, and tweaking new recipes.

Captain Walt and his wife Amy began what is now known as Point Ybel Brewing Company in the kitchen of their home on Sanibel Island, Florida. After becoming frustrated with the lack of choice of good beer in southwest Florida, Walt decided to order a simple home brew kit and began his journey into the abyss of home brewing. While extract brewing was a great way to start, they wanted to expand their brewing experience and ventured into the world of all grain brewing. They purchased the state of the art commercial grade Brew-​Magic system by SABCO with the idea that eventually, a small brewery/​brew pub would be a great addition to the islands of Sanibel and Captiva. After a little research, it became known that the City of Sanibel does not allow the manufacturing of beer for distribution so they settled on a space just off the island in Fort Myers. Distribution to the Island’s local shops and restaurants is underway.
