Total Wine & More

I seriously got into wine six months ago, and this place was the culprit. It’s intimidating going into a wine store if you have only a basic understanding of wine. The staff at this Total Wine (specifically;, Tyler and Pete) are not only great sales staff, but truly have an incredible passion for the product. In season, Total Wine is a mad house on Friday and Saturday, but during the summer it’s a pleasant place to shop. Total Wine also has spirits and beers, but that is not my passion; my liver and wallet could not handle the hit lol.
Bottom Line: there is no better place to buy alcohol in Fort Myers.

This is always my stop on my way to the beach. I think they have everything
You can get beer wine liquor and also mixers, cordials, openers, snacks and munchies. Prices are good and it s nice to have one stop
They help me chose a wine or liquor when I have a friend or guest request
Checkout can be slow. That’s my only complaint.

sigh… yes this is a wonderful place to find whatever you might desire and the customer staf fin the aisles and cashiering are very helpful. It’s great to name something you like and have them not only locate it but also offer suggestions for additional wines you might like.
BUT…the managerial staff at the customer service area in the front of the store just doesn’t work for me.
Stopped in today to take advantage of a deal that had come in the mail. 6 Italian wines that end in «7» (have no idea what that means) for 20 percent discount. I discovered I had left my ad at home. Would they honor it in the store?
NOPE
The suggesting was to buy it at full price then come back with the sales slip and advertisement and get the money back then. WHA??? I felt dazed and confused. Then someone from the courtesy desk said, well, maybe you got it by email? If you did you can print it and then bring it in. WHA??? again… don’t know about you, but my phone doesn’t attach to a printer. No one volunteered to check on line or to help me set up email account with the store, nada, zip. Kind of made me feel like they didn’t care if they helped me or not. I have been in many many stores who either have extra coupons in store or can sign you up and print one for you.
SO I stopped at world market, where i would get 20 percent off four 4 bottles (not 6) and believe it or not, I didn’t need a coupon or email or flyer.
SO Total wine lost about 140.00 worth of business. But hey, when you are that big, maybe it just doesn’t matter. I gave this review a 3 because to me, a little help goes a long way, and it really does matter to customers.

Unbelievable selection of beer & wine! If you can’t find something you like I can’t imagine where else you should go friendly.

I’ve been wanting to look through Total Wine and More for a while now. We come down to this area of Florida a few times a year. I just read that Nashville is going to be getting one of these in the next year. We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. This is literally a wine grocery store. So cool. They’ve also got beer and hard liquor. I priced some of the items from other stores, and apart from a few items at Sam’s Club, these prices were pretty good. I guess when they’ve got this kind of inventory, it’s easy to have such low prices.
The staff here is numerous and very friendly. We were in the store for about 15 minutes and had 4 different people ask if we needed any help. I witnessed a few staff members helping other customers with wine selections. They’ve got different staff picks listed throughout the wine selections. They sell mixers and sodas as well. I was really impressed with the vastness and selection they’ve got. I will be back again for my wine/​bourbon needs.

Best place to buy any type of alcohol. I compare prices between Total Wine, ABC Liquor, Publix Liquor, Costco and Sam’s Club. Hands down the best 9 out of 10 time beats them all. Given Costco and Sam’s occaisionally have better deals on the same bottle. The customer service is second to none and the staff is very knowledgeable about the type of alcohol you’re looking for. All in all, a great store to visit for ANY of your alcoholic needs. FYI, I keep saying alcohol instead of liquor because they have a vast array of anything that contains alcohol.

I love you Total Wines, you carry a huge variety of all my favorite seasonal Craft Beers. Your employees are so helpful and nice, but on my recent visit, I noticed that you stopped carrying one of my favorites, my Guinness Extra FOREIGN Stout. :-(Although, you still have the Extra Stout, and will have to do for now, it’s not the same. If you are looking for a specialty wine, beer or liquor than this is the place to go. If you are bored and want to waste some time reading about wines of the world, then this is a place to kill time in. They have anything and everything you would need for a night of drinking.
But if you are looking to get the best deal on the normal stuff then this is not the place to be. Drive across the street to the Costco liquor store and several a good amount on the exact same standard beer and liquor.
The employees are very helpful and have always answered any question I had.

Just wanted to say their customer service is awful. The guys on the floor ask you if you need help insuch a way that make you feel like a criminal instead of like they really want to help you. On the other hand, the cashiers dont acknowledge youat allbecause they aretoo busy talking to each other and only look at you long enough to tell you how much you owe andhand you your receipt.

Who does not love Total Wine? This is my second trip to this location and I love it. The store is huge and offers an amazing variety of alcoholic beverages, glassware, gift bags and a small selection of boars head cheeses. It is extremely easy to maneuver through the store and the staff is very helpful.

This place has an awesome selection. I love all the types of flavored rums and vodkas they have. My husband likes to try new beers and they always have an incredible amount in stock. Most of the staff is friendly except for a few rude cashiers. Managers are nice. One complaint is that they never keep the smaller portion mixers in stock as much.

We’ve walked up to the checkout zone. Things at first glance look normal, but as we studied the people around us, strange things started to happen. The checkout lanes first appeared empty but clerks began appearing, calling out words that could not be heard above the din of the store. We all started walking to the lanes where the people settled.
We’re finally in one of the queues behind some other shoppers. There’s this rather dotty lady at the register moving her arms back and forth as if she’s slowly swimming. She deliberately picks up the items from the counter and marvels at each one, as if it’s an archaeological artifact. One by one, she carefully waves the item past the scanner, trying every side of the package in a vain attempt to divine the object’s inner secrets.
The dotty lady hits another roadblock, she calls on the other folks manning their registers. They are new to this planet as well and can’t get the magic machines to slip the trap and move on. Their last gasp attempt is to call on the rotund man in the cubicle. He gets up from his station and saunters over to the place where time has stopped. He presses one button and instantly disappears. The dotty lady continues her toil, unfazed by the man’s instant relocation in space and time.
There are other people working in the store, but they dare not make eye contact with the unwashed throngs of people waiting at the registers, nor do they angle their bodies to put themselves in danger of being sucked into the vortex that is the checkout. They’ve seen it before, they know what can happen.
The rotund man reappears. He’s sporting a beard now and his temples have grayed. His white dress shirt has been replaced by tie-​dye. He too doesn’t seem to have noticed the transformation. He sits back down to his cubicle, uninterested in what’s going on around him.
We finally made it past the lady and the checkout. We didn’t look back and kept running until we got to our car. We were lucky to escape.

Well, let me just begin by saying that I like Total Wine, and never had a problem until I decided to do some business at this particular store.
A few weeks back, I wanted to do something special for my dad on Father’s Day. He has becom interested in single malt scotches recently, so I decided to get him a bottle of something he probably wouldn’t normally buy for himself. I currently live in Chicago, but my brother still lives in Fort Myers, so after reading the TW policy for pickups of online orders, I realized I could make the purchase, my bro could pick it up the day before Father’s Day, and everything would be gravy.
My first negative interaction came when I called the store to get some advice on what would be a good bottle to get, as I know next to nothing about scotch. I had done a little research online, and was leaning toward an 18-​year bottle of Glenlivet, priced around $ 100, but just wanted to talk to someone knowledgable about scotch before I plunked down a hundred bucks on something I knew nothing about. I was transferred over to, presumably, the scotch guy, and he was extremely unprofessional. I had to basically twist his arm and ask super-​specific questions to get any kind of answer out of him. Whatever, he eventually confirmed that my selection was a solid one, so I went ahead and made the order online for in-​store pickup.
Now, I had read and re-​read the policy on 3^rd party in-​store pickups, just so I could be sure that nothing would prevent my dad from getting his gift on time. The policy states on the company website, as well as my confirmation e-​mail):
«If you would like to arrange for a third party to pick up your order, you must contact Customer Care in advance at 1−855−330−6673. If the ID of the third party shares the same last name and/​or address as the billing information on the order, you do NOT need to call.»
JUST TO BE SURE, I called the store and spoke with a woman to confirm what I read online, and even explained that my brother would be in to pick it up. She confirmed it was fine, and even seemed a little annoyed as if to say «You read it online, why are you calling here to ask the same question?»
So, since my brother, who is well above legal drinking age, and I share the same last name, and I had also confirmed with the lady at the store, I knew I needed to do nothing further except wait for a call from my bro letting me know he picked it up and we were good to go.
Except, when he called me, he was standing outside the store having been, extremely rudely, turned away by some manager named Fletch (or Fletcher?). Now, I understand that 3^rd party pickups are touchy, because no one wants some high schooler ordering three cases of miller high life on his mom’s credit card and trying to pick it up with his buddies and a fake ID. Got it. However, here is my brother, with a completely valid ID, picking up a single bottle of good scotch, knew my name, when I had placed (and paid for) the order, and exactly what it was he was picking up.
This dude, Fletch (I keep thinking of that Chevy Chase movie), insisted that he was not authorized to pick up the bottle, and was a total jerk about it, as if my brother was trying to pick up an order that didn’t belong to him.
I re-​iterated the 3^rd party pickup policy to my brother, and told him to pull it up on his phone and show it to the guy, which he did. The guy STILL insisted on going to his own computer in the office and looking it up on the company website. My brother was dumbfounded, as was I, once he called and relayed what had happened.
I asked afterward if the guy seemed the least bit apologetic, but apparently he was just pissed at having been dead wrong about the situation and having to hand over the ALREADY-​PAID-​FOR bottle of scotch. The funny part is there was a female employee behind the counter who had witnessed the events unfold, and my brother said she had a look on her face like she knew Fletch had totally effed up.
Anyway, the story ended happily, as my father enjoyed his gift very much, and the story was something we all shared a laugh about, though still a bit in disbelief. It will probably take another birthday or Father’s Day for me to make another expensive booze purchase, but I can guarantee that when I do, it will not be from this Total Wine location.

Awesome. Best liquor store I have ever been to. Insane selection of liquor, beer, and wine you will find anywhere, PLUS the best prices anywhere in town. They have really obscure stuff, and if they don’t have it right then, they’ll frequently order it for you. Whether you just need one bottle, are stocking your bar, or you ‘re having a big party, go here.

One of the better Total Wine locations. Huge selection of beer glasses to go along with the huge beer selection. The folks that work their actually know about the beer that they sell.

We’ve been coming here for at least two years now and appreciate the large selection of wine, spirits, mixers, and accessories. While they may not carry a lot of selections that I’ll see in the Wall Street Journal’s wine reviews/​recommendations they have a knowledgeable staff that can give excellent alternatives. I love their selection of hand-​cooked Virgina peanuts from The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg. This year we also bought a pair of stemless Riedel wine glasses to go with some good white wine selections. Definitely check out this place.

This place is great! Has every type of alcohol available– beers, hard liquors, chasers, mixers, wine, drink accessories like shots cups.
The staff really know their stuff so that are a great resource to have whenever you are unsure or just need a second opinion about a bottle. They have many tastings available throughout the week.

Total Wine is great for running in to get some nice beers and some wine. This store was a good size with your typical selections of liquor, beer and wine. We found some great beers here that we really enjoyed. As I was walking through the wine aisles checking out the wines an employee came up to me asking if I needed help. I said that I was fine and he would not leave us alone.
Following us and telling us about his favorite Merlot. He pointed out the bottle to me and of course it was one of their private labels. Not that I have an issue with that as some of their private labels are very good. I was just annoyed that he was super pushy which was a complete turnoff for me. As soon as I told him I did not like that bottle, he was not very happy. He was like why? Everyone likes this bottle. Ha ha well dude, not me!
We purchased a bunch of wine and beer and it met our needs but they really need to skip the high pressure sales tactics.

This is my favorite wine store. When I moved to FL from upstate NY wine country, I was bummed out that I wouldn’t be able to get my favorite local wines. I was shocked when I went to Total Wine and found my very favorite local wine. The selection is really fantastic (beer, wine, liquor, gifts, food) and the staff is helpful (when you ask). I bought all the alcohol for my wedding here, and I was permitted to return unopened bottles. Before I go to the store I can shop online and know EXACTLY which aisle to go to for what I need.

Incredible selection of wine, beer and liquors at very competitive prices. The only time I have seen them beaten on wine pricing is occasionally on Sam’s Club «one time buys». They also have a nice selection of bar ware. I bought a muddler there for making mojitos and am very happy with it. There is usually, but not always, a readily available, knowledgeable salesperson to assist you. I just wish they had a tasting room like they do at the Naples location.

Total Wine will save you money and time shopping for spirits. For the most part people are very friendly and ask if you need assistance.
The only reason you get a three star instead of five is no one would assist me at the high end liquors locked by the registers. I have come in a few times ready to purchase Louis the XIII, and didn’t get helped. Obviously when you buy special items, you shouldn’t have to fetch someone when the case is right by the cashiers and Manager station.
Please just make sure you cater to those who aren’t buying Smirnoff Vodka. You don’t know who might be your best customers unless you ask.

Oh, Total Wine of Fort Myers– I feel the next classic love story brewing between us.
Gone are my embarrassing days of buying alcohol at CVS, Walgreens, and other drug stores just to save a buck or two. Plus, with more than 8,000… yes that’s right… EIGHT THOUSAND wine options, I’m more likely to enjoy unneccessary purchases at Total Wine than I am at CVS.
While I’m not a huge fan of this stretch of US 41… where it seems to be strip mall after strip mall for miles on end, I certainly cannot complain about the luxury of having Total Wine right around the corner. (Plus, in a shopping center with Target, World Market, B & N, AND DSW… it seems as though I’m living the life).
In addition to a massive selection and fair prices at Total Wine, I’ve always been impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the staff is. I’m always greeted warmly and offered help, but no one is overbearing in the way sales people can be at smaller wine and liquor stores. When I’ve told them I’m looking for a good wine on the cheaper side, each employee provides multiple suggestions that stay within my price range. These people know their wines. Whether you’re shopping for a special occasion, a gift for a dinner party, or (my most common purchase) an affordable and delicious box of wine to last you a while, you’re sure to walk out of the store with something you’re pleased with.
And a quick sidenote… it’s not just wine! Their liquor and beer is cheaper (and a bigger selection) than anywhere else in the area too. I’m a big fan of trying out a few different types of beers from all over the world– and Total Wine lets you mix and match!

Remember that scene in The Matrix where Morpheus and Keanu were standing in the all-​white void, and Morpheus said «Load the gun program» or some bullshit like that, and an infinite number of weapon racks launch from the netherspace surrounding our two heroes with all the firearms they could ever ask for.
Total Wine does that with booze. Sweet, delicious booze.
The staff is knowledgeable and all that jazz, but I get this distinct used car salesman impression from the folks on the flo’. Maybe they don’t get commission on certain labels nor are they given performance bonuses for pushing premium product, but I still get an odd sense of «She’s a beaut, ain’t she?» whenever an earpiece-​wearing employee walks up smiling.
They have everything, and if they don’t, they’ll get it for you. And I mean everything. Sour Apple Pucker and Louis Remy Martin Cognac Louis XIII in the same aisle (not kidding), and an entire section for glassware and bar snacks. It’s a wonderland — the Costco of Cocktails. The BJ’s of JB. The Sam’s of Suds… I could do this forever.
When in town, I will purchase libations here. Prices are great, except for the singles in the cooler. $ 2.95 for a Bud Light Chelada*, T-​Dubs? Really?

Massive (like, warehouse-​style) selection, friendly, knowledgable staff.
Liquor stores back home — take note. This is both the selection you should have and the mantra you should operate under.
I came in with a blurry picture of a bottle of wine sent on the less-​awesome front-​facing lens of an iPhone (I applaud the effort that took) showing only a green bottle, the shape of the label, and a french word.
I showed that to a very nice gentleman who immediately recognized what it was, developed a rosetta-​stone style french accent, and told me the entire name, where it was, how delicious it was, and recommended 4 other wines that are similar in taste and price.
On top of that, I walked out with a mango infused caribbean ale that i’ve never seen before and would be hard pressed to find anywhere else — except maybe in the caribbean.
I will undoubtedly be back for more recommendations.

I’ve reviewed Total Wine of River Edge NJ, and was blown away at how this Fort Myers location is at least 5x the size. The selection here is mind blowing — not just for wine, but also for beer (buy single bottles or beer or ale… discover something new!)
Thankfully — a Total Wine that has WIDE AISLES, what a change of pace! No more having to move aside for carriages on a constant basis.
I’ve found that the prices at Total Wine are no different depending on what state they’re in, but they are still competitive and I have specifically checked local supermarkets like Publix to confirm that Total Wine has better prices (and they do).
Staff is friendly and helpful. As for parking, there’s plenty of it since it’s in a massive shopping complex with other big stores around the bend.
