Courtyard Fort Wayne

Update; Issue resolved. The manager of the hotel (Kari) addressed the complaint the very next morning. I returned for the remainder of my stay, and from the excellent breakfast to the spotlessly clean room my stay has been perfect. I will lodge with them again.

Although this courtyard is not as big as most courtyards the staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay quite pleasurable. I’ve had some disappointing when I first traveled to Fort Wayne on business and after staying here have returned, and will continue returning every time. Breakfast made to order, coffee good too not that cheap 8 o’clock or community chicory junk. Keep up the good work courtyard.

Do NOT stay here. They will give up your reserved room with a confirmation # even if you are Marriott Gold. Additionally, the outside & inside of the place looks more like a motel than hotel. I’ve been staying with Marriott for years and our company has spent millions on conferences we hosted at Marriott. For the sake of your great name, retrain or hire new Management immediately and strongly consider selling or investing in a major renovation.

The staff is quite friendly and the hotel lobby and pool area are up to date. While the room I was in was clean, the rooms are looking and feeling old, and are in need of a complete overhaul. I put this hotel in a B category.

The hotel is an old Courtyard hotel and seems pimarly used for corporate meetings. There were a lot of groups in the hotel that seemed were there for work. There is no restaurant or bar area, however there is a sports bar that is within walking distance. The rooms are large, but lack the newer Courtyard frills. The staff was welcoming. I’m not sure the location of downtown due to only being on the hotel for a short stay, but seem not in a central downtown location. The indoor pool/​hot tub was in the lobby which did not show any privacy.

Normally, I start these with pros. Lets start with FACTS this time.
Facts:
Fact 1:
This Courtyard by Marriott’s location is on 1619 W. Washington Center Rd. This means it is not in Downtown Fort Wayne. Nor is it near Parkview Field. In fact the only thing it’s near is the Highway, or what looks like a church of unbelievably large size.
Let me repeat though, this Courtyard by Marriott is no where, as in, not even relatively geographically close to the Courtyard Marriott downtown.
Fact 2:
It is extremely close to the Marriott (no courtyard this time) down the street, past the mega church, and on the left near the Cork n’ Clever. Whoever placed these properties probably liked the streets, but that’s not going to help when people show up at the wrong hotel.
Now that everyone is on board with where the hotel is, lets talk about the actual amenities.
Pros:
+ Very good internet. Surprisingly good. Netflix streaming no hick-​ups good. Good picture too. No buffer Youtube?! Snazzy!
+ There are nice little sitting areas.
+ Lots of parking
+ Good bathroom space and layout.
+ Oh hey, fridge in the room already, and no request or extra cost, must not be a Hilton…
Cons:
— The staff is kind of hit and miss. The check-​in was bumpy and confusing (since someone checked me in despite calling and explaining the engine on the plane was being replaced, and there was nothing I could do), and then the individual registered my Marriott account wrong, and then didn’t give me a rewards card. However, the receptionist on Saturday worked the entire mess out in 5 minutes at checkout, which was by far my best experience with the staff.
— The plug layouts in the sitting area are difficult.
— The layout with a, har har, Courtyard, is odd. If you have an interior room, everyone will see you with your windows open.
— A little dark in the rooms.
— The fitness facility is a bit wishy washy, but not that usual in general.
Meh:
Neither the biggest, nor smallest. Feels a bit small for some reason.
If you’re going to spend a lot of time on the net, the room layout isn’t great for it, but it’s ok. The whole experience is overwhelmingly ok. Perhaps the only highlight was the amazing internet. Ok isn’t bad though, but if you’re gonna be around a while, consider something more spacious.

Location, Location, wrong, Location,
This is the WEST Washington location,
Not the EAST Washington location, That street runs through the center of downtown. Near a one way street. West to East.
This is the West side location on the NORTH side of town, runs both ways. East and West.

*NOTE* There are three Marriots in Fort Wayne. Two near West Washington, one next to East Washington.

All of the previous reviews are incorrect. THIS location is not any where near Parkview Feild. It does not have a place for receptions and it is far from being a very good hotel. In fact, it has never scored in the top 100 of the Marriott Family of Hotels. I have spoken to several people about THIS particular hotel, including employees, and have never heard a good thing about it. However, I have been advised by an employee that Marriott does take complaints seriously so if you are ever in one of their hotels speak up if things are not right, and be sure to get names if you plan to do a customer survey.
For those writing reviews I would suggest you check the address before you write. As I said, the previous reviews are not for this location.

They have nice rooms. A lot of ppl actually have their wedding receptions here. The halls are very spacious and beautiful. Its great for visitors and they dining in is actually great. I had their fillet mignon and out server was very professional and attentive. Also, if you want to go to the piano bar, it is very entertaining and fun to watch. Its called Rum Runners I believe and some of the the locals come too. I love the guys there. They are sooo funny. Great drinks and martinis too. i love their fruity drinks.
