Parkview Field

Parkview Field hits it outta the park. Seriously.
This is one of my favorite places to visit during the warmer months. Great baseball. Great atmosphere. Great for Downtown Fort Wayne.
I have enjoyed many Thirsty Thursday @ Tincaps. $ 1 beer and you’ve got me sold. If you are planning on taking the family to a good olé baseball game on a Thursday, expect drunk 21-​year-​olds. Although I am post college I still enjoy some $ 1 beers from time to time and the entire lawn area is full of a younger crowd usually drinking lots of beer and hardly watching the game. I suggest buy tickets in seats for those games if looking to avoid the long beer lines.
Seems there are always fireworks after the games… and they are SPECTACULAR. Tickets are very reasonable and with free fireworks, you can’t beat that. Perfect date night or night out with the fam.

One of the finest minor league ballparks in the country. Great ambience, food, and the team has been strong pretty consistently since moving in. A Fort Wayne highlight which matches or exceeds the experience you’ll have at AA or AAA ballparks.

I didn’t see a game here, but the venue looks fantastic. I had a tour of the facility and later attended a catered dinner at the suite level. The park was built in 2008 so it’s virtually brand new. It’s located in a newly revitalized part of downtown Fort Wayne although restaurant choices nearby are kind of slim but new places are opening. I would love to see a game here sometime and get a Tincaps shirt.

Nice field but the food service is the worst. I tried getting a slider in the fifth inning but the stand was already closed. The kid said when they are not busy they close the stand. I mentioned that we were only in the fifth inning and he looked at me like like I was some alien or something. I decided to get a pulled pork Sammie but they were out of slaw. Lol. You can’t win for trying at this place. Don’t think I will be renewing my season tickets for next year. Sorry Johnny.

The is a beautiful field in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne. The baseball is good, the food is good, and it is very fun. It is clean and a well maintained field. Everyone should go watch the Tincaps at their beautiful field.

Great place for a summer night ballgame. We had a wonderful night at a company event. Good food!

We live in Fort Wayne and decided to take the family to a TinCaps game. I was hit by a line drive foul ball and lost 8 teeth and had multiple facial fractures. The medical treatment was terrible… after asking the medic to get me out of the main aisle for privacy sake, he escorted us through the batting cage! We were never taken to a first aid room, simply to a bench in the main aisle.
When my husband asked if the ambulance was on it’s way, the medic said, «We don’t call ambulances, but you can.» This is a surprising coming from a park that is sponsored by Parkview Hospital.
The TinCaps organization didn’t call to see how I was doing until after my husband sent them a note expressing my disappointment in their reaction to this horrible accident.
I know when you go to a ballpark there is a possibility of getting hit by a ball — there are signs and disclaimers everywhere. However, I would also expect that if you do get hit by a ball, they have adequate medical help once it occurs.
The TinCaps basically said it was our fault for not paying attention, and they will add more signs to the stadium to remind everyone of that.
This I find interesting considering after the accident everyone within eye distance was watching us, and the game played on.

Great asset for the city of FT Wayne! Family friendly!!! Beautiful weather and fireworks tonight. The best popcorn in town — forget the theatre. Hubby likes the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Go Tincaps!

Great place for families (especially thirsty Thursday) 10oz beer $ 2. Brought my kids and in laws here and sat behind visitors dugout.$ 9 adult ticket and $ 5 kids. Fireworks after the game. Its a smaller ballpark, which lends to its charm. I noticed other posters comparing it to the Indianapolis Indians stadium and rating it higher. The ballparks are very similar, with Indy being about 2 times larger in terms of seating and prices…(A vs AAA) Crowds are fairly quiet but I’d take that over loudmouths any day of the week.

Lots of different areas to get seats. Picnic, lawn, regular, box, etc.
There is lots of stuff for little kids to… rock wall, bouncy house, slide.
Tons of different food and drink options.
Entertainment throughout!

This is the way Minor League Baseball should be. I kept having to remind myself that this was Single A baseball, because this park rivaled most AAA baseball stadiums I’ve been to.
The park is clean, beautiful, and very spacious. I love that there were several different types of seating areas. You have your typical baseball seating behind home plate, party plaza’s down the line, the treetops section in the outfield and 2 very well manicured grass lawns for those who want to stretch out on a blanket.
The variety of food was amazing as well. Not just your typical hot dogs, peanuts and cracker jacks, there were some incredible entrees to choose from. For dessert, I highly recommend the apple crisp a la mode at the apple cart behind home plate.
I love this stadium.

This ballpark is probably better than some Triple A ball clubs. I know for a fact it’s better than the Indianapolis Indian’s ballpark in Indy as I’ve been to that one.
The field is beautiful and the concourse to the park is huge. Huge! Plenty of room. They have a ton of food that you can get there. Not only can you get your hot dog and pop corn, you can get a dang corn beef sandwich, philly steak, some greens, ice cream, lions, tigers, bears, oh my!
Plus if you go on Thirsty Thursdays, you can get dollar beers. So 5 bucks for a lawn ticket and a few bucks for some dollar beers, you can see a ball game, have a beer or 2 for under 20 dollars. Try going to Chicago to see the Cubs. You have to pay 35 bucks just to park. So the fact that Fort Wayne has this park for everyone in the Midwest area is just out there!!! You just have to come and see the park for yourself. You can actually walk into the ball park during they day and see it. You can come and jog a few laps around the concourse if you want!
You get a ton of enjoyment for a cheaper cost. Even for families. Tickets from 5 – 12 bucks, great foods, beers, and a mess load of baseball games to watch.
Plus in the summer, they have even brought in some big bands to have concerts there. Bonus.

I can’t imagine a nicer class A minor league park. Beautifully situated in the downtown area. I opted for the Legacy seating, directly behind home plate. The seat was wider than a typical MLB seat, with a somewhat padded seat, and plastic back.
There was ample legroom, a footrest in the form of a pipe running the length of the row (like at a bar), and a narrow metal table that also ran the length of the row. The table was ideally sized to support a beer, water, and a dog.
The food menu had the classic ball park options. The brat was Ok, the hot dog was solid.
And there was waiter service in this section.

This was the check in /​registration area for the Parkview Criterium. I admit I did not attend a game here but I did get to walk around and take a look. Seems like a really nice park to enjoy a minor league baseball game. The facilities looked really nice, clean, modern…

Been to several games here, and have enjoyed them all!
The park is kept clean, seating is comfortable, and the views from everywhere are great!
Last game we sat right behind the catcher, and then moved out to the grassy common area in the bleachers for the last inning or 2. That is so nice to be able to do, especially with kids that start to get ants-​in-​their-​pants after the 4^th inning when their hot dog and coke are gone. Speaking of kids, the kids-​zone area out in left field has always been a nice ‘go-​to’ for us mid-game…you can still watch the game as they do a rock-​wall, bounce house, or throw balls around.
Food choices are very good here, although we haven’t tried everything. The obvious ‘Apple’ influence on different foods can be a little disturbing (Apple Beer?), but I am sure you can find something to your liking.
Also…the quality of baseball played here is excellent! Pitchers in the mid to upper 90’s are frequently hurling, although they may not have the MLB control yet. Big breaking balls, wonderful defense (usually), and well coached teams are common.
Family friendly atmosphere with a fun mascot, games in between innings, picnic area, game area, clean bathrooms, pretty skyline, and of course baseball, America’s slowly fading pastime.
Makes me want to go to a game today… Play ball!!!

A sweet park for an evening of baseball. Surprising variety of food choices for a small ballpark.

I’m not a huge baseball fan but I do enjoy watching it live. Parkview Field is a great place to catch a game. It’s nice to have a downtown stadium and this place is a whole lot better than the old stadium off of Coliseum. You can see the field pretty much anywhere in the stadium it is laid out nicely. Only cons are downtown Fort Wayne isn’t that great as far navigating and entertainment but they are trying to change all that and Parkview Field is a good start to improving downtown Fort Wayne.

I love how even when you have a bleacher seat, you never really seem that far from the front row/​field. It is an extremely nice open stadium — so even if you run back to grab a hot dog, you can still watch the game from the concession stands.
I also really do appreciate how they leave the park open to the public from Sunrise to Sunset everyday — minus game days. I haven’t had the chance to roam around it, and take a walk on a non-​game day, but I’m definitely planning on it for my next trip into Fort Wayne.
The only cons that I could think of was that I wish that they had more affordable food options, and more food options in general. It’s also really inconvenient to park in the parking structure and walk all of the way around the field in order to get to the main entrance.
