This is the second part of Maggie’s letter
I then called the cell # provided by your office and left a message. I thought just maybe it was your partner that was there when we brought Maggie in and I thought perhaps you just did not like to deal with one another’s surgeries. I may have been able to understand then why Maggie was sent away. You returned my call leaving a message that you were in fact the one that had done her surgery and that you were also the one that had sent her away. You were also quick to point out (much like your receptionist) that Maggie was not a candidate for TCAP. You also stated that you would call me back later that night. You never did. I wandered around aimlessly all weekend in my same clothes without brushing my teeth crying. Wondering; DID I MISS SOMETHING? Hurting; for Maggie. I never heard from you not that night, or the next, or the one after that. I saw Maggie everywhere I turned and felt as if I had a hand in killing this sweet girl. The following Wednesday Hulen West called me to pick up her ashes. It took me until the following Monday to muster up the courage to do this.
A few more days pass and I finally sit down to read the notes from the ER Vet. They state that she spoke with you at 16:45 on the day of Maggie’s death October 19^th, 2013. She discussed the possibility of doing a necropsy and quoted you a price. According to the notes you told her you would call me to discuss if I wanted this done for Maggie. You never called about this either. You and your office just did not seem to care about Maggie at all.
So Maggie’s ashes are sitting on my desk and I am still in shock. I still am having such a hard time dealing with the end of her story. My hands shake and tears are running down my face as I try to type this. You see Maggie did matter, maybe not to you or to the person that dumped her out in that field; but she mattered to me. She mattered to Denise. She mattered to all 8 of her children. She mattered to all 8 of those families that gave her children homes.
Note about me: I know you have never met me but I have done rescue for many years. Although I have brought only a few dogs into your office for spay/​neuters. I have actually done thousands of spay/​neuters over a 10 year period of pets that are and aren’t mine along with tons of TNR for ferals. I live alone on a very small income and that is why I am unable to afford your services. In the thousands I have had spayed prior to Maggie only 2 have died. Both were feral cats and both had a reaction to anesthesia. I saw more compassion from the folks at the Kittico clinic for these ferals than from you or your staff. I know that in both cases they desperately attempted to save them. I am also a very forgiving person that understands each and every one of us is human. And, that some things are going to happen no matter what we do. That every single day, is really in God’s hands; and not ours. If you would have simply stepped out to speak with me, look me in the eye and say; something is terribly wrong and Maggie is dying. I am so sorry, best to put her down. I would have not lost my trust in mankind and could have held Maggie and told her how very much she was loved. Instead she was loaded back into the car for a trip I knew she could not make. My name is Judi and you don’t know me. You have three other client’s that bring pet’s to see you that all know me very well. Each of them called me at one time or another to ask for my help with animal rescue that is how they came to know me. Jane Ann Day called me years ago to teach her how to trap ferals. Melissa Davis called me years ago to help a colony of feral’s at her husband Rays place of work. Cathy Thomas has sweet Lola that comes to see you. I am the person that took Lola off the street along with 22 other kittens in a 2 week period from a poor elderly man that was feeding strays and they got out of control. I also trapped and fixed each and every wild adult he feeds. You don’t know me and you didn’t know Maggie, but I need to tell you; she mattered. Maggie mattered to me.

Lady on the phone sounded like she was sleeping and I woke her up in the worst mood. It’s 10am. After reading all the terrible reviews of this «witch» I will not take my pet here. The clinic should read this and do something about their customer service quality.

How in the hell is this place rated so high??? I went there because I believed Unilocal that this place was supposed to be good… IT IS NOT!!! I took my newborn kitten there because he was pretty much dying, and right from the get go the dude in the front had an attitude like I was an inconvenience for walking in, so he called this lady to come talk to me… We shall refer to her as «The Witch»… This is the same lady I read on one of the reviews below, but I didn’t think it was actually true… Boy I was wrong!
She told me if I wanted to be seen if have to pay over 150 dollars, when all I needed was some medicine (I even told her the name because I knew what was wrong with my kitten). Anyways, she refused unless I payed 4 times the price, or I could come back in 2 hours… At this point my kitten is weak, has lost 25% of his weight, and couldn’t even breathe! The witch ended up turning me away!!! I wish she takes her dying son (she probably doesn’t even have offspring since she’s so damn miserable) and she gets turned away just because the hospital is more worried about the money than actually helping! She is the WORSE vet tech ever I can’t even believe she has that job… INCREDIBLE, whatever you do DO NOT go there, it’s not worth the 5 dollars I would have saved! Horrible customer service, and that witch hates her life so she’s just there to share her misery to the world
Witch if u are reading this when u are home single, without anyone loved ones around u, If u want to stop living a lonely and miserable life, HAVE A BETTER PERSONALITY! U will die alone otherwise

I’ve taken my dog here for a neuter and dental cleaning — both times he had to be put under anesthesia. And he came out of it fine both times. Before the process, they have paper work explaining and giving options for meds. So, yes, it could be pricy but you have the option to decline.
I was afraid with the neuter because my dog was a bit too old for other places to do it. He made it through great. The prices aren’t too bad either. Being 17 pounds, the neuter was around $ 250 with meds and the dental cleaning was $ 160 with meds. I called another local place for a pricing on dental cleaning and they wanted to charge me $ 320. No thanks.

We took our 100 lb dog to ABC to get him neutered as mandated by the animal shelter from which we adopted him. This place bills itself as a moderately priced veterinarian, but we actually found it to be kind of pricey. The bill for our dog came to about $ 285 with much of the cost coming from outrageously priced medications. We paid about $ 40 for six anti nausea meds– which we did not need. We also paid over $ 40 for about six tramadol which is very expensive compared to what you would pay for the people version. I was most put off by the 40 – 50 something year old front desk female helper who was rather obnoxious with her dismissive and a know-​it-​all attitude.

I would never ever send my precious baby here again. Bella (6 year old cat) went in for a case of esophilic granuloma and update all her shots. When meeting with the vet take I gave all my records to her so Dr. Snodgrass could review her file and see what she was given in the past — a steroid shot (which I absolutely dread giving her by the way).
Dr. Snodgrass was great, he read over every single thing in that file and told me that he does not carry the steroid shot and he lets the esophilic granuloma heal naturally, which I was okay with. Like I mentioned before I hate giving her the steroid shot but it clears them up fast.
Anyways, Dr. Snodgrass left the room and in came the vet tech to minister her annual shots. She rips Bella out of her cage by the back of her neck — making my cat already more petrified then she was, she peed herself. I was bewildered, I asked her why she did that and she said Dr. Snodgrass told her that she needs to use force with her. My cat is 7 pounds!!!
I left steaming, I told that vet tech to never touch my cat again. And if I ever do come back, she is not allowed anywhere near Bella.
Watch out for the elderly vet tech witch.

I took my dog here because of some patching that had developed and skin redness. Dr. Snodgrass saw my dog and didn’t offer any testing at all. Instead, he said he knew what the problem was and gave me antibiotics. After giving my dog all the cephalexin as he directed, my dogs condition did not improve. I contacted Dr Snodgrass and told him. They told me i should have brought him back in for a recheck before the antibiotics were done– they never told me that. Then, they say bring him back in and we will do skin testing. They didn’t offer that when I went in and spent hundreds of dollars the first time. I ask if they will at least waive the $ 40 office visit and they refuse saying «they tried as best they could and sometimes they fail» My issue with them is they don’t stand by the work they perform. I want a vet who will treat my dog like a patient not just a source of revenue. I highly suggest you read the reviews not recommended on Unilocal because there are many unsatisfied customers that have worked with ABC Clinic. Find someone who treats the cause not the symptoms and somebody who guarantees their work. My dogs condition has gotten worse and I fear I have wasted valuable time with Dr. Snodgrass and ABC when I could’ve found a vet who cares and treats my dog as more then a dollar sign. Highly suggest you go elsewhere!!!

The very best vet I have ever been too. The Dr. Was attentive and noticed something so small in my large breed dog that I wouldn’t have ever caught. They were on time, helpful, and really demonstrated how much they love their jobs. His recommendations weren’t something that seemed like he was trying to get me to spend more but what my dog really needed. I love this clinic!

Dr. Snodgrass was great. So was the nurse/​tech Jessica. They were running a bit behind, but gave me a room immediately so that I could let my kitty roam around. She checked on me constantly til the doc could make it to my room. He asked lots of questions and really check her over well. He seemed to genuinely want to make sure my kitty was healthy and that we covered all our bases. He didnt try to pressure me for anything extra either. Even suggested when to do my other vaccinations so that I dont have to pay for muliple office visits. Oh the office is kinda in a strange location, but easy to find and access (right off the highway). Its not fancy, but its clean. And the prices are very reasonable compared to everyone else in town. I cant think of a single thing to say negatively.

I brought our 3 year old cat here with a badly broken leg. First off I called on a week night after hours and the vet dr called me back and we discussed our options. So I brought the cat in and unfortunately had to have xrays. I say unfortunately because once you start down this path– it’s no longer a low cost vet. I quickly rang up 177 for the visit and left the cat there while we determined our options. Dr. Snodgrass had to contact an outside surgeon for a quote on surgery and came back with about a 1800 dollar quote to fix a broken leg, including plates and screws. That’s not very low cost to me. Anyway I was about to just pay 75 to have the cat put down but my other half couldn’t do it. So in order to proceed I came up with 800 up front before they would do anything. Then accepted the rest in a check post dated for every 2 weeks until the balance was paid off. This set us back all summer. — So — depending on what your pets issue is– will determine where the «cost» is «low» or — well you get the idea. The payment plan was fair and it was nice that they offered that so we could get our cat fixed.
The service itself was good. They kept good care of my cat. They did a great job of repairing the broken leg and to this day my cat is running around as good as new.
There was just a few things the lady said to me while discussing my options with the cat that I did not care for, nor was none of her business. Every cat I know goes outside. Period. So I’m the bad guy because all this happened was the impression I got. Anyway– overall– they made a fair and practical payment plan available, discussed all the options thoroughly and ultimately fixed the cat. I’ll leave it at that– and say I would take my animals back if need be.

I have been brining my dogs to ABC Animal Clinic since 1992. I will not trust my dogs to anyone other than Dr. Snodgrass. When I was in my early 20s I moved from Ft Worth to Austin, but still I drove 3.5 hours to take Maggie for her check-​ups with Dr. Snodgrass. He has the upmost care and compassion for all his patients. Once, when I was in my early 20s and Maggie needed surgery for a small lump, he worked with me on a payment plan because I was flat broke. He told me he didn’t do this for the money. I could tell stories upon stories of times when he went above and beyond for me and my dogs. Once, Maggie had a strange eye issue that Doc was not familiar with. He studied and studied to find out what the issue was. Luckily, it was nothing of concern. He cared for my beloved Maggie from the time she was a few months old until she passed at age 15. I was devastated, as was Doc. We cried together. Please do not believe any story you hear about him being anything other than exceptional. He cares for my current 3 dogs as his own. I have an 80 lb. dominant/​aggressive dog who is 7 and Doc is always very knowledgeable and patient with him. Domingo was ordered quarantined by the city after he bit me (in the throes of a fight with another dog) Doc and his staff took him in for the quarantine, and never even blinked to provide the required medical attention that the city refused him. Doc knows how to deal with dominant/​aggressive dogs. All of my dogs love Doc! My sister also has a dominant/​aggressive 80 lb. dog and Doc has never had an issue with him, either.
A few years ago I had some issues with the young staff members and almost walked away. Doc called me at home, after normal business hours and we talked for at least an hour. He listened to my concerns and told me his struggles with vet techs, human customers, etc. He has a family and a business to support. His not a super hero, but he is a wonderful, wonderful man.
If you are expecting to walk into a fancy office with marble countertops and potpourri this is not the place for you. There are no plush chairs for you to sit on, only an old bench. Doc is happy to wear his Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots instead of slacks and a button shirt with a lab coat. Doc has told me the animals are his clients, not the humans. He is able to keep his prices low because he has the bare minimum for (human) creature comforts. When Doc retires from veterinary medicine I will be lost.
Yes, you can call this a «low cost» clinic, but as far as the care given it is top of the line! I don’t know what I would do without Doc and his trusty side-​kick, Deb. I have given my upmost trust in them for 21 year now and I have no plans to change that! I drive 30 minutes for veterinary care when there are plenty of fancy-​schmancy vets in my area willing to charge me for services I don’t need. That should say a lot!

I had taken in a St Bernard from people who couldn’t afford to feed her and were going to take her to the shelter. She had a really bad ear infection, so I took her here and the Dr. (can’t remember his name) said it was one of the worst infections he’s ever seen. He packed her ears and gave the proper meds. He was very sweet and the vet techs were very helpful. They even gave me a «new puppy» discount, when she wasn’t even a puppy! The techs also gave me good tips on what I could buy at the feed store to help her put on the weight she needed and to help her coat, because the poor girl looked so bad. But thanks to their suggestions on what I needed for her, she ended up being happy, healthy and a beautiful dog and found her furever home!
I haven’t been there since, but will be back!

I took my dog Angel on the advice of a coworker… and I am glad that I did. Dr. Snodgrass was very observant, knowledgeable, and polite. I hate when veterinarians talk down to concern parents! He made myself and my dog feel comfortable, whereas other vets I’ve taken Angel to have made her anxious/​nervous. He addressed my concerns, and also noticed some things about her leg that I’d not noticed before. He was also nice enough to let me know he didn’t want to do x-​rays because if the medication didn’t work, he would refer me to a specialist that would do x-​rays then and didn’t want me to be charged twice for that. In all both Angel and I had a good experience with Dr. Snodgrass and ABC Animal Clinic & Hospital, and I will be taking her to get spayed there as soon as possible!

Worst experance of my life I took my beloved wiener dog Srek in because of a sliped disk in his back and now he’s dead. You have a broken back and somebody you don’t know tries to shove medication down your throat of course your gonna be a bit snippy he was reported to animal control and they were going to quarinten him for ten days with a broken back instead of putting my little buddy through that kind of hell we decided to put him down «dr» snodgrass was the most rude and insensitive monster I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. He won’t return my calls and I don’t have my dog back my kids are devastated I would never recommend this place for anybody –10 stars your a monster and a coward

My kitty is here right now, a few days ago his urinary tract got blocked and I was freaking out because I did not have the money to take him to our regular vet. I called as soon as they opened and they let me come in ASAP. The vet tech and receptionist I talked to were very friendly. I was notified of the charges ahead of time and was allowed to put down a deposit and can pay out the rest. So far I am at about $ 500 for the weekend which is about half what it would be at our normal vet. As i was waiting in the lobby I spoke to a woman that has been going there for 20 years and had nothing but good things to say about Dr. Snodgrass. I’m really glad I found the place because I would not have been able to afford treatment at my regular vet and I may have had to consider euthanasia, Essentially they saved my kitty’s life and I am grateful so they get 5 stars :)

This is the best Vet that I have ever taken my dogs to. They have taken good care of all three of my dogs every time… They never over charge and are always completely honest about whats going on. I recommend them to everyone I know. Dr Snodgrass is so gentle and caring. Thank you for every time you have helped.

I saw the number for emergency help and decided to call because my dog was sick and I was desperate. Even though I had never taken my dog to the clinic before, the vet called me back immediately and talked to me for about 20 minutes about my dog and what to do. He even told me about the side-​effects of the medicine my previous vet had put us on and never explained! This vet was available all weekend and answered all my questions. I will definitely be taking my dog here from now on!

I completely agree with Glenda B. Facilities are not the latest & greatest but big deal. The staff are all amazing! Super friendly, caring & genuinely interested in both you and your pet. My dogs always hated even going into the waiting area at their old vet and they actually are relaxed, run around & play here (once we’re in the exam room of course!) with no anxiety & shaking, etc. How many clinics can say that? Dr. Lee is hilarious with a dry sense of humor. Techs are some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered in my 30+ years of being a pet owner.
Hours are very accomodating & you can’t beat the prices which tells me they want to be affordable so we can actually take the best care of our pets possible and not finance some newfangled clinic with all the bells and whistles.
My old vet quoted $ 260 just for a spay of an 11 lb. dog & I paid $ 220 TOTAL for surgery, pre-​surgical lab work, nil tim, annual vaccines, heart worm test, Rabies AND the heartworm tablets.
My most recent visit was me with my 3 dogs & a good friend with her 1 and we all went into the room together and had a good time. I highly recommend them to anyone who asks «do you know a good vet? «and will use them as long as I live here.

If Heather is squawking about not having funds to pay for procedures and being unemployed, then perhaps she should be living in the area. You don’t judge the building or location; you judge the service. I have no complaints.
I have gone to an animal hospital after they upgraded their building and downgraded their services. It is customary for the staff to call you prior to performing medical treatment. I have used them for over 10 years. This is an excellent business, Ms. Po Child. I recommend watching the movie, The Joneses.
The best lowest cost service is a better choice for our beloved pets. ABC Animal Clinic and its staff always place quality and the welfare of the pets over GREED. Thank God for them.

My cat was having urinary problems, and I am currently out of work… so I was looking for a low income vet. There aren’t any in Fort Worth! I called the ABC clinic and asked about prices. Currently $ 35 for the office visit, plus whatever needed to be done. Three stars for being the cheapest in the area, and fairly nice as far as vets go. Minus 2 stars for not telling us the cost of procedures before going ahead with them, and for being in the ghetto.
