Delicious unique Mexican food and the waitress was so nice! The guacamole was delicious! It was such a strange experience though. It’s in a strange location but that adds to the charm. We arrived at 5 pm on a Friday and it was empty inside and stayed empty. The décor and the patio make you feel like you’re in Mexico!

I feel like I need to give this place another try, we had brunch. Positives: I love that it feels like you’re on friends’ patio or in their house, and it was a pleasant surprise to see that this place had a view! I could see this place being great for happy hour on a nice day. Really good sangria. Negatives: Brunch was a lot more expensive than I expected. It’s served buffet style and was decent, but I wasn’t blown away. I love Revolver Taco Lounge(same owner), but for some reason I didn’t think the food was as tasty here. I’ve heard good things about going for a regular lunch/dinner, so perhaps I’ll try that next. I don’t know if I’d come back for brunch though.

Tried Campestre for brunch today. It was a buffet and they suggested that we try everything because they rotate dishes and bring different items out. Everything was wonderful. The pork tacos were flavorful and tender. They made a delicious cocktail with tequila and fresh juice that they squeezed in front of us. The location is odd, you won’t just stumble on this place, but they have a great patio. We will be back on a Friday or Saturday evening so we can order off of the menu.

Just don’t. Don’t. Do not waste your money here. There’s far better Mexican food all over Fort Worth for less money. Friends of mine and I were thinking it would be excellent patio weather. A friend said Joe T’s. I said no, we’ve been there at least 6 times. Find a new patio. After some careful reading about the best patios in Fort Worth, Campestre Chula Vista came up on our radar and we decided to try it. Of course, we wanted the patio but it poured down rain. Nobody’s fault. The good: The patio really is GORGEOUS. Go have a drink and eat somewhere else. I tried the Paloma cocktail and it was quite good. They’ve got a good wine list. They have margaritas. They have various beers. Drinking here could be an excellent thing but our food was lackluster for the high price. Our server had big silver metal piercings in his lip. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants in my short time on earth and I was never, ever, allowed to show a piercing or a tattoo while waiting on customers. That should have been my first red flag. While looking at the menu, I asked the server what came with the steak. A potato? Rice? beans? Nope. Nothing. no sides. $ 30 for a steak with no sides. WHAT??? you’re not going to throw a baked potato or fried potatoes on there when a potato would cost your restaurant 50 cents? that’s insane. I could go to Lupe’s Tex Mex and have a fantastic Mexican style steak with all the bells and whistles, beans, rice, fried onions and peppers, fried cactus, chips, and salsa for $ 25. But I should pay you $ 30 for only a steak? That makes no sense. We started with an order of queso fundido and an order of gucamole. The queso fundido had four overcooked to rubber shrimp in it. Then for a whole skillet of cheese we were served only four small corn tortillas. Seriously? four corn tortillas for a whole skillet of cheese for three people? and if you want more tortillas you have to pay $ 1.50? that’s just ridiculous. We were given a very cute, very small, lava rock type material donkey filled with salsa and a tiny spoon. One tiny bowl of salsa for the whole table. no chips. They have a big sign up with NONACHOS in capital letters and they mean it because in their mind they’re high end but… they’re not. If this place was high end our guacamole would have been tableside made. It wasn’t. The guacamole was not what I would say is guacamole. It was ok but it was really chopped avocado salad served with thick, overcooked brown chips. They had been in the fryer too long. Not cool Campestre Chula Vista. Not cool at all. Tacos were 7 dollars each. let that sink in a minute. SEVENBUCKS A TACO. They said. extra large. no, these are not oversized tacos. If you order tacos, you get only a taco. no beans. no rice. no nothing. I got a steak taco. The steak lacked flavor and they didn’t trim the gristle off the edges. If you want great brisket tacos, go to Ranitas in Arlington. Go to Lupe’s Tex Mex. Go check out my favorite brisket tacos at Baja Grill in Grapevine. Or go to the mecca of brisket tacos and put up with valet parking and a wait list at the legendary Mia’s on Lemmon Avenue. Even Torchy’s five dollar tacos are out of sight and many light years better than this establishment. Do not waste your time with a steak taco here. My friend had a baja fish taco here and said it was very good. She said it was far better than her steak taco. However, after two tacos, she was still hungry, and not about to order more food off their overpriced menu. I was a fool and ordered for my main meal, a pound of head on shrimp done in Mexican spices. DONOT get shrimp here. They cooked the poor little things to death so they resembled rubber bands. Also, how the heads disintegrated on a couple of them when I pulled, I don’t think the shrimp were the freshest either. If you overcook shrimp, you get unappetizing rubber. I ate the shrimp because I was hungry. It was 8 pm and I hadn’t eaten since noon. I told the server, these shrimp are overcooked. Did he get the manager? no. He muttered I’m sorry. After I ate, my hands are covered in shrimp slop. Are there any wet wipes? no. Who serves head on shrimp with no wet wipes? Some places even give you a little water in a bowl with a slice of lemon to clean up your hands. He said, no just use the napkin. I said. you want me to ruin your expensive burgundy fabric napkin instead of getting me a wet paper towel? Seriously? ok then. I ruined the napkin. No way was that thing coming clean. If you want real Mexican shrimp cooked perfectly, go to Seafood Shack by Lake Bachman. Their camarones diablo are dreamy. Then to top off this weird experience, the server said that they do not do separate checks and would have to divide it ourselves. This is utter bullshit. If you have a computer entry system for the kitchen, which you did because I had a computer printed receipt, it is a snap to divide a check. I repeat DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYHERE. High end price for bad service and bad food

We had our wedding on their AMAZING patio! If you haven’t been to this tiny oasis in the NW side of Ft. Worth you need to! The cuisine is authentic Mexican food so if you are looking for chips and salsa and neon cheese queso, this is not the place for you! If you want delicious authentic Mexican dishes, like mole, octopus tacos, and ceviche then ¡bienvenidos! The drinks are wonderful! They have great margaritas but if you want to shake it up a bit, get the pineapple cantarito! They have a wonderful Sunday brunch that is buffet family style with cinnamon coffee! The only thing my husband and I did not like are their desserts. Oscar and his crew were very friendly and made my wedding day a breeze! We love this place and will be visiting here for years to come!

Very torn on my experience here. On one hand, the food was outstanding, but the experience was… strange. I walked up to the hostess at the sprawling hilltop patio, which had one large(~15 people) group, about 4 other tables occupied, and at least a dozen empty ones, and was told they were on about a 30 minute wait. Very strange. I mean, I think I could have actually thrown a frisbee back and forth with my friend in the seating area not being used. But I’m easy to please so long as I’ve got a place to have a drink or two. Which there was. So… onward to the bar. I stand there for a while while one bartender hustles and someone else… supervises? Supervises me too I guess, because he wasn’t getting me a drink. Then I get a drink and kind of get ignored for a bit while he takes care of other people instead of letting me pay. I mean, I understand when you’re busy, but it was weird because it wasn’t busy, it was just one more person who stepped up to the bar right after me. Still empty by this point. It kind of felt like when you’re the first person to arrive at a party and everything has been decorated and set up and you’re not sure if more people are going to show up or if you’re the only one who didn’t realize nobody was going to come and you’re going to have to make awkward small talk about sports or salvation or something you don’t really know anything about in order to get through the evening because you can’t just leave by that point. Drinks in hand, we go take our pick of one of the empty tables until someone comes up and asks if we’ve been taken care of by a server yet. Well, no as a matter of fact… did you know you’re on a 30 minute wait? Once again, the food really was the saving grace of the whole experience. We had the guacamole, which was cut into cubes instead of smashed, and had pork skins in it, an interesting twist that really worked, and I’ve never actually seen done anywhere else. Pretty unique. Then I had a chile braised pork that was outstanding. I asked for a knife though, and I was told to just use a tortilla… Instead of a knife. Let that sink in for a bit. I mean, you have knives, right? How hard is it to just get one? After the server was gone, left to my own devices I threw my tortilla against my food, ninja star-style, which only served to confirm my suspicion that tortillas aren’t very good at cutting things. I waited a little bit, asked someone else and was lucky enough to get one that time. Weird. I ran out of my first drink and ordered a Corona. Three different people came by to tell me that they don’t have Corona and ask what else I might like. Thankfully, I only got one delivered to the table, so they were on point with the communication there. Food and location are terrific. Service and operation of the place really left a lot to be desired. A-OK is a perfectly fair summation. Will probably be back, I’ll just know what to expect the next time around.

Really wanted to like this place more but my expedite here was just a weird one. The food was pretty darn good but I wish there had been a few staple-type items like a take on tacos al pastor. One of the rings I tried was the squash taco. Supposedly voted best taco somewhere some place. It was very tasty but it was also like having ratatouille in a tortilla. Tasted good but didn’t quite scratch the itch as far as taco cravings go for me. The flan was pretty good as well. My main reason for lack of stars was service. Was like they somehow found a way to make it awkward in every possible way. Good patio, good food you will just need a serious helping of patience.

Amazing restaurant, the food I tasted was authentic and deserves to be labeled as such. Tried the octopus tacos which was great. The rib eye taco was good. Also tried the puerco en chile and the pork was tender. Only negative I had was the micheleada which wasn’t good and had to send back. The star tho here is he restaurant and location itself. It sits on top of hill with great views to the west. The décor and music add to the great vibe. There’s hammocks to lay and relax. Overall great gem in Ft Worth

It isn’t what it appears to be… Setting. Reminds me of a resort in Mexico. Colorful Decorative Patio furniture. Difference the resort would not be all inclusive. Price point jumps. However, I don’t think the quality of the food matches it’s price point. A person from our groups ordered their Hamachi sashimi appetizer. It appeared not cooked from the citrus, but as if it was somehow medium and oddly firm. It was presented well though. Another friend ordered their chicharrones and avocado. They soaked the fried chicharrones along w the avocado mixture. Leaving it chewy and slippery in texture. Others ordered their $ 7 taco. They were big. I didn’t really hear any raves either. As for my dish, I kept it simple. Puerco con chile. My dish arrived last. And when I mean last I mean 30 min after everyone else’s. The server eventually mentioned that the dishes were coming out one by one. I suppose multitasking was not heard of. At any rate, my dish. The pork was tender, fatty good. The salsa verde was salty. The beans. Burnt and the Spanish rice bland. However the tortillas wonderful, they appear as perhaps their made in house. Once the check was dropped off(FYI no separate checks on large parties) our server checked on us, but we were still trying to split up the tab and then eventually she didn’t come back. A fellow in an apron took our tab to give to her. Will I come back. No.

This is the difficulty with the Unilocal system with only 5 stars & no ability to award half stars. If we are judging on Food Quality, Value, Atmosphere, Service… and they don’t fully deliver on most of these counts BUT the food itself is excellent, is it 2 stars or 3? Funny we heard about this place on Eater(best Patios) & then read most of the Unilocal reviews… and in all the negative ones the running theme was slow service/understaffed & an issue with silverware. Well we were there during an empty lunch hour(the reason it was empty, we guessed, was lack of a lunch-priced menu, more on that in a moment)…so while service speed wasn’t an issue we were indeed left without a napkin or silverware when the app came out. When we asked for it we were each given A Fork. When the meals came(both necessitating a knife), we again had to ask. The food itself was excellent. The pepper I had was stuffed with fruits & meat rendering it very autumnal in flavor. His mole was smokey spicy, nutty & complex. Great selection of different Mexican bottled beers & the patio is as lovely & colorful & eclectic as promised. But our check was $ 100 with tip for lunch(2 entrees, 4 bottles of MX lager, 1 app). My stuffed pepper while delicious came with zero side dishes. No wonder we were the sole diners. We were told about brunch which sounds promising & worth a return visit.

Got invited to this new restaurant by some friends and didn’t see the reviews until later. They have only been open 4 months and we got great service from a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had a party of 7 and it didn’t faze them they kept our drinks full and weren’t hovering over us. Perfect amount of attention. Now the food, this is real Mexican cuisine, not Rio Bravo Tex Mex. the menu here changes often and brothers and sisters let me tell you it is GOOD!!! We all passed our plates and tried each other’s food it was all very very good. Don’t come here and expect free Chips and salsa if you want that go to Rio Bravo if you want a change and some really good Mexican food this is where you need to go!

This place is great, and from the attitude of staff and management they’ll only get better. Location is a little off the beaten path, but they’re setup to be your one stop for an evening of delicious food and drinks in a building that must’ve at o e time been some kindve hotel judging from the big filled in pool that’s now the central outside dining space. I look forward to seeing these guys grow. The food… THEFOODWASAWESOME. I tried an octopus taco that was so good I could’ve eaten a dozen of them! Also had a carne plate that although very thin(meat) was full of flavor. They also do something cool for the table — tried tortilla strips and beans. Drinks are made from scratch, so margaritas taste the was they should and not like some crap bottle of mix. Last but not least… tres lechas cake… they have grandmothers on the back making it from scratch and its £€%#+£€^ good. It was cold and one of my friends described it best = it tasted like it was soled in icecream! Couldn’t have been more happy with this dinner.

We found this place thanks to an article in Dallas Weekly. The drive is a bit far and GPS was lost too but once we were a minute away we called Campestre and they got us there in a few secs. Gps had us turn into the shopping center, don’t do this. Keep going up the hill past the shops and you will see the white gates on the right. The food is authentic Mexican food and the tortillas were so delicious, I was a tad disappointed they were corn but in the world of corn tortillas where moms are the best, these had mamas beat, don’t tell mom… The venue is beautiful! The patio is very large with lots of seating and the food was delish. I wish they had a better kids menu since the meals are more costly and the kiddies hardly eat much. They didn’t have cabrito and it’s what I was looking forward to after looking at their menu ahead of time. Next time we go I will call ahead and make sure they are serving it. We will def be back! If you visit this place, sit outside.

Beautiful place, but way overpiced and the food was not good. Had enchiladas. Came with a chicken leg which was ice cold like had been refrigerated, which the waiter seemed to confirm. Would have been better with salsa, but none to be had. The chips and bean dip with no salsa seemed to be an attempt to be gourmet by being different, but where not good. Service was ok.

So disappointed for these bad reviews– this place is AWESOME — YES, you do have to be a little patient– but this is a laid back patio atmosphere for crying out loud. You’re part of the family when you come. Enjoy yourself! Get away from the hustle & bustle! Maybe I’ve dined too much in other countries, but I think the pace is PERFECT. We’re too used to staunch, quick American cookie cutter service that is about eating sustainence rather than actual good food & a wonderful experience. This is an evolution back to a better time that’s about family & nourishment. Anyhow, obviously I disagree with a few reviews, and I don’t understand how they could say the food was awesome, but knock so hard for service– get over yourself, you’re not Gordan Ramsies. So, know the pace. Even though it’s a buffet you may have to wait for your fresh squeezed the moment you order it drink. Personally, we were taken care of very quickly– but hey, I’m nice, warm, and cordial– not a demanding patron who thinks the customer is king– we’ll only get to keep these gems if we support them. Businesses live and die thanks to Unilocal — I know I base 95% of my dining choices on the app. Let’s be a little more supportive. I think very soon this place will be doing phenomenal, the food & heart is there.

We came in on a Saturday, and the service was terrible. We waited for chips and a coke for twenty minutes. We had to take silverware from another table after we asked for some from the server who never brought them out. And, I’m not even mad at the waitress because she was running – actually running around. Other people waited for food for as long as we did. When we finally got the enchiladas, and the short rib entrée and the taco of the day, half of the items were cold and half were lukewarm. The flavor of the taco was really nice, but, alas, it pales in comparison to the Revolver location. The restaurant is in a big complex with a banquet hall. Tonight, there was a wedding. Maybe that’s why we were ignored, but this place is not ready to be a restaurant – not even close. Such a disappointment.

My family and I read about the Easter buffet– complete with scrumptious homemade Mexican dishes, an Easter egg hunt and piñatas. We decided to venture out and try it. The property and presentation is gorgeous. Lush gardens, beautiful patios, talavera pottery and dishes surround your table. You walk in and think, «oh, I am in for a treat.» In this instance, the beauty of the place is where the awesomeness ends. We walked in and around the restaurant for ten minutes without being greeted. We finally sat ourselves down at a cozy table and waited another ten minutes, a wait that we made the best of, admiring each other’s unique Talavera plates in our respective seats. My husband finally found a waitress, who told us the buffet would be ready in fifteen minutes. My husband asked for coffee for us both, and the waitress didn’t ask what drinks my daughters wanted and returned with one cup of coffee– which was a delicious brew boiled with a hint of cinnamon. My hubby and I shared the one cup of coffee, waiting patiently for my cup and daughter’s drinks. The buffet was presented in beautiful clay pots over charcoal coals outside on the patio. The food was what I imagine your Mexican grandmother making– if each of us had one. Pork tips in a mildly spicy red sauce, beans, rice, eggs in green sauce, potatoes and cactus. Hearty and comforting if that’s your thing. No green veggies, Avocadoes, salt or pepper in sight but that’s okay. I enjoyed the food. However, just like your Mexican grandmother cooking for you requires time and care, imagine further if your Mexican grandmother decided to open a restaurant. You wait for goodness, you wait for refills, you wait for more items to be added to the buffet, you wait for your check to be fixed because it was wrong the first time, you wait for Abuelita to work her magic. If it’s your grandma, you are willing to overlook these idiosyncrasies. If you are an extremely patient person on an Easter morning, you may also. If you are like me, you leave disappointed because you want so terribly to love it but are left unsatisfied by all the waiting and do overs. In short, I will give it another shot on a normal day, because I love authentic Mexican food and the location. But this experience will leave me thinking twice.
