Stopped in for Sunday brunch. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were obviously the ones you get from the tube you pop open and but in the oven. Now to Cat City’s credit, they did put the biscuit on the grill for a few seconds. The sausage they mixed in with the gravy was the patty you buy frozen and warm up. The gravy was thin and liquidy and flavorless. It also came with eggs. You ever go to a cheap hotels continental breakfast and they have eggs in bulk? Those were the eggs I got. And to top it off, the«hash» was microwaved country potatoes. The biscuits and gravy at What a burger is 20% of the price of Cat City’s and 10x better. If you want to spend 10 bucks on biscuits and gravy, go to Brewed. Wife had the shrimp and grits. She said the shrimp was good… but the Jalapeño grits tasted more like broccoli and cheese soup. Mimosas were cheap and tasty. I would try this place again for dinner… but I would never go back for brunch. Was extremely disappointed.

The steak taco lunch special wasn’t very good. There was a lot of untrimmed fat on the steak. The black bean soup was good. Not worth the price in my opinion.

My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our anniversary on a Monday night(they are open on Mondays!) and it was the perfect decision. Clean, calm dining room atmosphere that wasn’t too loud or crowded. Service was exceptional and I ate some of the best salmon I’ve ever had. I gasped when I tried the creamy citrusy sauce the fish was served with– I wasn’t expecting it to all tie together so perfectly. The leek risotto was also delicious! Boyfriend got a NY Strip with Brussel sprouts and loved every bite. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is delicious. I frequent this place often. I had their vegetable grilled sandwich today– it has portobello mushroom, tomatoes, onions, eggplant, and zucchini on it. It was great. Comes with a side of waffle fries. For dessert, you have to try the PB&J montecristo. It’s one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The crust on it is flaky and warm. So good.

Mother’s day brunch, crazy crowds but worth the eait! Had shrimp and grits, my daughter had the crab Benedict. Finished with cinnamon roll, yummm. Champagne and Bloody Mary were great, and inexpensive! Order your bloody extra spicy tho, it was too tomato-y for my taste… but great with a couple of splashes of Tabasco. Service was excellent.

Average brunch and drinks and the price point is a little high. I had the breakfast burrito and it had very little flavor and wasn’t anything special. I also tried the chicken and waffles that a friend ordered and the waffles were so hard they were barely edible. We also ordered the shrimp grits and it was cold… so it was left unfinished on the table. Atmosphere is dark but service was very good.

Not too bad for brunch. Great deal on drinks($ 2) but the seated time on Sunday mid-morn is around 30 – 45 mins. Small venue & big plates. Highly recommend the chicken fried steak and eggs…

Came for brunch this AM. The food here is decent. I ordered the brunch burger, which came with waffle fries. The waffle fries were delicious!!! But that’s about it for deliciousness. My burger was pretty decent, not the best I’ve had but pretty filling; a bit tasteless though, I had to add a ton of condiment to compensate. What I do like though, is that they have $ 2 mimosas, champagne and/or screwdrivers. Service was pretty good too. My friend got the cinnamon roll, which looked and smelled great. She also got some kind of egg plate. Overall, this place has great service, cheap an alcoholic drinks and average/decent food.

This place is really nice. It’s small and a little pricey but they do have glutten free items on the menu and a nice wine list. The waitstaff went out of their way to be helpful. Try it.

We decided to take an overnight trip to FTW to celebrate my friend’s birthday. He rented a charming little cottage for the night in the National Historic District of Fairmount just off of the main street of Magnolia. As usual, we did our research on dining options and found this little gem of a restaurant in the heart of this area called«near Southside» being gentrified. What a wonderful find !!! We arrived @ 1600 to enjoy happy hour(from 1600 to 1900). The kitchen doesn’t open until 1700 so we planned on a libation or two before dinner. It’s a lovely but small intimate space of one main dining area and another in the back for private parties. I would imagine that a lot of date nights and special occasions are celebrated here. Very nice casual upscale ambiance. There is also a patio street side which would be enjoyable in good weather. We opted to grab two seats at the cozy bar and were promptly greeted by Jessica. One Miller Lite(his usual, he rarely deviates) and a TS Margarita please with Grand Marnier. My margarita was a generous serving but not quite that golden color necessary to make it «TS», IMO. I asked Jessica for another shot of GM which she happily provided, and the drink transitioned from just okay to absolutely just perfect! Thanks Jessica! As the 1700 hour approached stomachs were growling. Jessica overheard my comments about my hunger pains and offered to take our order and have it first on the list when the kitchen opened. Their Shareables appetizer menu is amazing and during HH, HALFPRICE! So, I quickly scanned the choices and really over ordered but couldn’t resist trying several. Shrimp Flatbread — it was over the top delicious with the grilled shrimp with Cajun spices, pesto, arugala, & parmesan cheese. This alone could have been a full meal for one. Drooling as I recount the deliciousness of this dish. Fried Zucchini — lightly breaded strips with Panko, served with ranch dressing. I typically like the cylinder slices of this dish, but the Chef certainly knew how to prepare these luscious morsels. Perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. Onion Rings — okay, I was so impressed with the manner in which these were cooked. The breading was well seasoned and so light, not greasy, and the onions inside were very tender, easily cut with a fork. My usual favorite are onion«strings», but these«rings» topped the scale on «give me more». Bruschetta — the Star of the offerings. The grilled bread was rubbed with garlic butter and topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, pesto, red onions and goat cheese. No scrimping on the toppings here. Some of the best Bruschetta I have had, including those @ Kenny’s Italian Kitchen. Wish I could have brought some of these home. Did we enjoy our plates? You bet we did. Did we order too much? Of course we did, sadly a lot left on the plates; however, I would do it all over again. $ 4 or $ 5 for each appetizer. Was this a bargain? Absolutely. While a real trek from our part of the world, Cat City has garnered a spot in our«have to go back real soon» list of top spots in our dining excursions. It’s well worth an hour’s drive west! Jessica’s service was exemplary; friendly, engaging, attentive, a great representative of her establishment. Thank you Jessica for a great celebration of my friend’s birthday!

If four and a half stars were an option, that would be perfect! The only reason we didn’t give 5 is because we didn’t have any entrees. We wanted a nice cozy dinner and that’s what we got. The APPS we got were –the steak flatbread: my boyfriend went HAM on this. The steak was cut really fine and was topped with some sort of dressing. He thinks it was some sort of balsamic something or another. He was basically licking the plate clean it was almost embarrassing –the calamari: was pretty mediocre… that being said, i’m never mad when eating calamari so. –the lobster bites: oh my yum! these are so stinking good, like i woke up thinking about them. is that normal? DESERT: Then we got the flourless chocolate cake for desert. I’m usually not a fan of flourless chocolate cake because they’re usually super rich and weird texture but this one was super yumm and was topped with strawberries which was a perfect finishing touch. DRANKS: i just got a couple glasses of prosecco for like $ 8, my boyfriend got the rahr whiskey warmer. He’s saying i have to put this but, «it was so dank. make sure people try it». so there. Lance was a really great server and was super knowledgable about the entire menu(including the cocktails and wine) and was great at giving an opinion when asked what options he liked best(i know a lot of servers hate when i ask… but i will always ask what they like). I’m already planning our next visit back here.

Hubby has been wanting to try something new. Seated right away, drink order was placed fairly quick. Had calamari, pretty good. Had the lunch soup and sandwich special. Tomato basil soup was a bit too salty, couldn’t finish it. Club sandwich was good. Our son had the steak poboy, he enjoyed it. Hubby had the mushroom Swiss burger & he liked that, too. Overall the service was good, food was good. Will visit again.

This is one of those restaurants that isn’t quite good enough. Nice location on Magnolia Avenue with good service and the menu sounds great, but the execution leaves something to be desired. I had brunch here on a recent Sunday with some girlfriends and we were pretty jazzed about $ 2 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Good value there! I ordered the breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs,(very mushy) tomatoes, bacon bits & cheese. Could have been so much better with some fresher, more in-season veggies! On the side was their corn poblano hash, which really hand me scratching my head because it only looked like a helping of fried potatoes to me. Finally, on the side I requested sliced avocado slices that came to the table bruised and mushier that the tomatoes in my burrito. So much for quality control.

Great food but the hours suck. It’s not a breakfast restaurant when they don’t open for breakfast. If this place was open at 7:00am I would eat here everyday. I don’t see how they stay open honestly.

Super cute dining and patio area. We came at a busy hour, so service was not the best. We waited about 10 min until our drink orders were taken. I ordered the Cat City Fried Egg sandwich. It was good, and the corn and potatoes that came with it were good. I also got a bloody mary– $ 2. Tasted like a $ 2 bloody mary… almost like liquefied ketchup. but after adding some spice to it, tasted better. Good service once drink and food orders were taken.

Great location, décor, and most of all service! The food was a different story though. I had the tuna which had a wasabi sauce. When I mean sauce, it was drenched. The piece of fish would’ve been great had it not been drowned in that flavor. The fried Brie was overly fried and a little off. I love to go and eat, and I rarely leave negative comments, but this Restaraunt has the potential to be one of the coolest spots in town, and the chef is sabotaging the ship! Get off now while you still can. The service though was some of the best I’ve had in a while.

So we came here because we had a Groupon and heard from friends that it was a nice place for a date night. The place was packed when we arrived so we decided to eat at the bar so we didn’t have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to be seated The service at the bar was good and they were really fast with our food. We decided to share the chicken fried steak($ 10 fee for sharing plates, FYI). The sides of brussel sprouts was pretty good, the potatoes were very buttery, and the chicken fried steak was a bit of a disappointment. It looked really big when we got it but after more investigation, we realized there was large batter to meat ratio. The meat was not very tender and hard to cut as well. The taste was pretty good, but definitely not worth the price on the menu. I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food of this place — if it’s going to be such a high price with a sharing fee, it should live up to expectations. Perhaps it has changed since I have been there though!

What an incredible time my wife and I had at Cat City Grill on a Sunday after church. We arrived shortly after church let out and was met by a full restaurant. They were very busy! While we waited we were offered $ 2 Mimosas which is a great deal. After a short 10 minute wait, we were seated at our table. Our server welcomed us to the restaurant and explained their brunch menu and the selections. My wife ordered the French toast and I ordered the traditional Eggs Benedict. Both of our entrees were delivered very quickly and delicious. Overall we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return again soon.
