Courtyard Fort Worth University

The suite furniture is uncomfortable. The cable service is terrible. Had to call front desk for issues with on and off again cable and was told by staff that the cable is like that. In fairness they did respond quickly. We would not stay at this property again.

The Bistro is overpriced.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. Initially were put in a west room on level 2. We had to change rooms the second night due to the loud noises from the train switching yard that is located behind the hotel. The drink prices at the bistro are outrageous. Expect to pay $ 10.00 or more per drink. Domestic bottle beer was $ 5.50. Double Crown and Pepsi was $ 23.00. Food prices are average. The hotel and room was clean and the bed was comfortable as always with Marriott.

Hotel is in a good location for some posh shopping. Room is clean and nicely decorated. First floor rooms have a sliding glass door out to parking lot. However, there is a loud train that goes by a couple of times a day. Not a fan. Also, my bed squeaks on my side. The toilet seat is a cheap plastic and practically falls off when you sit on it. Shower is small but water pressure is good. Not my favorite Marriott because of the train. Good location though for some great shopping and restaurants. We would’ve stayed here longer if they were pet friendly.

6 people waiting 20 minutes and only 1 person running the front desk and servinfg at the kitchen too. Poor lady doing everything. Although it was during the TCU vs. KANSAS game. They need a new Management team.
Room was nice enough and clean with a good location.

Pleasant stay for a wedding, a little pricy but I suppose it’s justified.
1) Prime location — close to TCU, museums, and the zoo!
2) The lobby is spacious/​modern and the front desk lady had great customer service — she even provided some us with some local Fort Worth history.
3) The pool was nice — lots of towels, plenty of chairs and tables, and it was surprisingly cool considering how hot it is in Texas.
4) The rooms were fine, there’s free wifi and the bathroom was big but could’ve used some upgrades.

One of the more poorly managed in the Marriott system. I’ve 80,000 points in my Marriott account, so I’ve had some very good experiences with Courtyard as a value play. But the housekeeping, the poor sanitation standards of the kitchen, and general management really ruins the overall nice look of the place. They seem to have way too many «chiefs and not enough indians” – at night they had one person running the whole hotel – no manager on duty, no housekeeper on duty (room was not clean), no engineer when things didn’t work, no phone operator, just one person. No bell assistance, but plenty of managers go to lunch for two hours. No way to get any decent service. And NO elevator. They just fired some of the supervisory offenders, so I may try again in the future, because they are very close to TCU campus, but a terrible representation of how any Marriott should be managed. Enough to send me back to Hilton, and I really enjoy most of my Marriott stays.

The room was clean and the staff was nice but it is not my first choice when staying in Fort Worth. They do not have an elevator and thus if you are staying on the second floor you will have to carry your heavy suitcases upstairs. No free breakfasts.

Plenty nice enough if you are traveling on business. My room was clean and the lighting was great. Free wifi was a snap and the little café in the lobby convenient. I walked to the TCU campus to save the hassle of a cab. If ever back in the area, I would stay again.

Let me preface this by stating that I did not stay here overnight, I came here 4 days in a row for my Kaplan NCLEX class in their meeting room. Otherwise, I’d definitely give them 5 stars.
The service was friendly from the front desk staff to the coffee shop/​breakfast bar service person. I really liked how they have the small breakfast restaurant inside their lobby so you could stop by for a quick breakfast before leaving (or in my case, going in). Free coffee is provided for guests. There are two computers and a printer free for everyone to use, and another computer linked to a printer to print out boarding passes for the airport.
The hotel really gave us great service. Free water pitchers were provided for us every day and they gave us pens and notepads daily as well. The meeting room was clean and a staff member was on hand to assist my instructor in carrying her items and in any technical issues she had.
Location-​wise, it’s on University and you can walk to Panera and Hoffbrau steak from the hotel. There’s a shopping center less than 5 minutes away driving.

If your companies paying, go to the Hilton unless you like small gyms and the soothing sounds of freight trains in the middle of the night.
Keep in mind my review is for a business trip paid for by my company with food expenses so my expectations are bit different than the regular traveler.
I was here for a week long stay and booked a single king bed suite. There are a few decent restaurants nearby as well as the TCU campus. The lobby here has been remodeled recently and is the highlight of the complex. It has a modern look with a lot of lounging area, a small bistro bar, and several TVs scattered around. A cool little hangout for those that don’t have time to venture out too far or just want to get out of the room for a few. The lobby also has free to use PCs with printers, wifi access, newspapers, and a 24hr mini mart for a late night snack or those items you forgot to pack.
Past the lobby however everything steps back about 20 years. The rooms have been touched up a bit with new décor and a couple upgrades just not the full on remodel the lobby received. The room was clean and had all the necessities for a business traveler. Cable TV, comfy bed, desk with chair, couch, network access, alarm clock, ample lighting, coffee pot with comp coffee, mini fridge, etc. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and water pressure was good. I found it difficult however to get a good sleep for two reasons. First, the AC I found to be a tad bit loud when it cycles on and off. However, if that doesn’t wake you the nightly 2am train that rolls by will. The train is not right next to the hotel but its close by and woke me up every night with its damn horn. I’ve been told from some other coworkers that they experienced the same issue when they stayed here. I suggest asking for a room on the side of the hotel away from the train.
For those looking to get their workout in while on travel, the gym here is 24hrs. The equipment is fairly new with TVs, adjustable AC, towels, sanitizing items, disposable earphones, and a water cooler. However the whole thing is tiny. There is exactly one treadmill, one elliptical, one stationary bike, one adjustable bench, and one set of dumbells that only go from 5 – 50 lbs. There’s no open space either for any kind of free form exercise. The adjustable bench is terrible with a large gap between the seat and back. If all you do is the cardio machines you will be alright as long as no ones on your machine. If you want to lift weights you better get creative and again hope your the only one planning on lifting.
The best thing I experienced here is the breakfast at the bistro bar. They serve a full menu of starbucks coffee here including espresso drinks which was convenient for me. The oatmeal with nuts and dried cranberries was also delicious. It was a very nice and convenient way to start my morning. The lobby also offers complimentary coffee in the morning but I prefer espresso.
If it wasn’t for the train and inadequate gym, the hotel would be decent. However, my previous trip I stayed at the Hilton for the same rate and it was much, much more luxurious and in the heart of downtown Fort Worth.

Was pleasantly surprised! Nice room, pool and hot tub, continental breakfast, and really close to the zoo. I would for sure recommend.

Not gonna lie, prolly one of the nicer Courtyards I’ve stayed at. For some reason, I always feel like these are dodgy hotels… but alas I have been proven wrong. Yay.
The lobby area looks like it just went under some MAJOR renovations. The check in desk is sleek and the people are so friendly. The little lobby sitting area has great big couches and a flat screen with scrolling news, weather and traffic. Very handy for the out of towners that don’t know there way around. You can also park your car near your room, since its only a 2 floor hotel and you can enter from many different parts. I like this. I don’t need to be walking around the hotel late at night after my nightgames… errr parties… err dinner.
They have a happy hour in their lounge and a complimentary breakfast every day. Now, this is a plus… they have a 24 hr convenience store right inside! No kidding!!! I think my man-​piece made besties with the guy working since he was down there getting munchies at 2am both nights. Le sigh.
The rooms are spacious and the bed was surprisingly comfy. The room came with a couch, mini fridge, microwave and a desk with internet connections. The bathroom was large and very clean. The only downside, which I think is common in most hotels, was the shower itself. Ugh, no water pressure, the water literally comes dripping out and trying to wash my hair was such a nightmare. Why can’t hotels just man up and pressurize that shizz. It’s for the better, trust.
Upon checkout, I was waiting for a woman who was on the phone (I don’t mind waiting) and a guy comes around the corner and goes «Oh I’m so sorry you’ve been waiting!» I mean borderline freakout… hilarious. I laughed and said it was no big deal, just wanted to check out. Took maybe 2 minutes and I was on my way.
