The info line is moving kind of fast, which is better than calling seeing they don’t answer the phone.

As expected the place was packed, but surprisingly the lines were very organized and went pretty quick. The waiting area had enough seating and was clean. Reason for four star is that they misspelled my name on the DL, so be sure to check before you leave.

TX has to have the worst drivers license system in the US simply due to their asinine separation of DMV into the DPS. It’s completely unnecessary and simply requires a second step for doing anything. This location in particular provides an incredible lesson in frustration for anyone unfortunate enough to have to walk in their door. A word of advice… if for some god forsaken reason you need to come here (or any of the N. TX DPS locations), do yourself a favor and spend an entire day researching what you need to bring… then bring everything they don’t ask for, just in case. A common occurrence here is you wait in line for 15 – 30 min to get to the desk to be told you don’t have everything you need. For example, I was denied a TX drivers license because I didn’t have 2 utilities bills, despite bringing a valid US passport, a SS card, a valid out of state drivers license, valid TX car registration and valid proof of car insurance in TX. I’m sorry… where I pay my water and electric is irrelevant to my drivers license. The fact I needed car registration and insurance in itself is completely retarded, because they’re basically saying I need a car to drive, however, guess what? That’s two fucking forms of proof of residence! WTF! Anyway, I suppose if you’re in between vehicles you’re screwed. I lived in VA previously, and their setup is hands down more streamlined and makes way more sense. No retarded hoops to jump through. Now, back to this location… provided you have the prerequisite garbage they ask for and they allow you to take a ticket to be seen, be prepared to be here another 60 – 120 minutes depending on time of day and day of the week. Also, this location is trifiling and looks like shit. Have fun being crowded next to the dregs of society. DPS can eat a bowl of dicks. Rant done.
