I have never been disappointed. Food is always good. Never had bad service. Love the chips and salsa!

Always get the piña colada. Seriously, it’s that yummy, and quite inexpensive. This no-frills mexican restaurant near River Oaks has great dishes on offer, with all the usual suspects(enchiladas, tacos, etc) available. Apparently the burger is pretty good too, although I did not get that. I would suggest you try the flautas, and two is generally enough for me. If you do order 4, you will probably take it home(although I don’t see the downside to that!). Service this night was a little slow, but overall the restaurant is a solid pick for the area.

In my opinion there is no better Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth. There are some as good, but many are no match for this place. Most menu items are way above par, but some are a just the usual for Tex-Mex. I’m not a fan of their queso, but their chips and salsa are very good. I’d suggest that their fajitas are the best I’ve had in Ft Worth. I’d like to give them a 3 ½ stars, but a 3 doesn’t really do them justice. I honestly think the one on Keller Pkwy might be a bit better.

I thought it was terrible– the reason we went was because every time we drove past, it seemed packed! We ordered chili con queso, gross– but I’m simply not a yellow nacho cheese person! I love the white cheese dip in general– I ordered the chicken fajita taco salad. I cannot tell you what the difference is from the regular… Because this had no grilled onions or peppers or anything like that… It was slices of chicken that were grilled in those slices, so totally overcooked and hard and dry. Served on top of extra shredded lettuce… With literally a half a slice of tomato! There was two slices of onion on the side… I really just don’t get it… It was not a salad at all I asked them to return it and I ordered the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce… Which were good

Decent Mexican food. It didn’t wow me though. Big restaurant. Lots of seating. Good service. Meat was tough and light on seasoning. Overall everything was a bit light on seasoning. I guess I just prefer La Playa Maya.

I’ve been going to this El Paseo for years. My dad used to take me there for lunch when he was on patrol and I was riding out with him, so it holds a special place in my heart! Hands down, they have the best chips and salsa on the planet. Sorry if you disagree, but I’m standing firm on this one! This is the only place I will drive out of my way to get to just so I can buy a bag of chips and a pint of salsa to go. I will then go home, sit on my couch in my pajamas, and shamefully eat myself silly. But, I digress. The chips come out warm and they sprinkle chili powder or something on them which adds a little something extra. It’s always a treat to find that one chip that’s covered in it in the bowl. It’s like finding the baby Jesus in Mardi Gras cakes… only it’s a chip. The salsa is perfect and while not too spicy, it has a nice kick. I love how smooth it is. I HATE huge chunks of tomato in my salsa, so this is pureed perfection! My favorite thing to get are the chicken flautas. Crispy and perfectly cooked, they taste great, especially with side of hot sour cream sauce. I’ve also had their fajitas, grilled chicken, tacos, nachos, and cheese enchiladas and have enjoyed them all! My fiancé gets the carne asada every time, so they must be doing something right there, too. The rice and beans are pretty basic. I’m not a huge fan of refried beans in general, but I do love their rice. There’s been a couple of times where their iced tea tastes a little off, but so does the water, so I think it’s more of an issue with the tap water that day. But other than that, I’ve never had any complaints. It gets super busy on Sundays when the lunch crowd arrives, so expect a bit of a wait. We’ve never had to wait longer than 10 – 15 minutes, though. And the building is older, but they seem to keep it up well. It also looks like they’re adding on another part to it. Service is quick and efficient and they’re always polite. There’s a handful of other El Paseo’s throughout the area that we’ve been to. Keller, Azle, and a couple of others, I think. But this place will always be my favorite!

Awesome breakfast. Great homemade tortillas, beans, etc. I had the«divorced eggs» and the salsa on top was great. The green verde is very pica so be careful.

Old established restaurant, with excellent service — fast and friendly. I had the spinach enchiladas which were very good, and the rice and beans were delightful also. I usually don’t care for either of those at 95% of the restaurants.

Went on a Sunday night for dinner. Party of 6. The good things: great chips and salsa(they have seasoning on the chips) great waiter(Ernie), excellent pins coladas and margaritas.(one of the best tasting pins coladas I have had) So with all that good stuff we were very disappointed in the actual food from the kitchen. Enchiladas were hard, guac tasted funny, chile rellano tasted like it was from a can. White sauce was bland . So I would probably come back for drinks …

I have been here in the past and it is usually good food. This past Sunday the 6th, was less then stellar. The chips were burnt, the water and the tea had a bad taste to it. My mom ordered the the fajita steak salad, and the meat was tough, and had no flavor at all. I might be back one day, but not in the near future.

El Paseo is solid Tex Mex. The food is flavorful and well prepared and service is consistently good. It has a family-owned, down-home Texas feeling to the atmosphere and clientele. Nothing innovative or original, just good food and drinks at a good price. Margaritas are sweet and large. I had my first beer-ita here and enjoyed it. If you’re looking for the basics, head out to this Fort Worth mainstay.

Wow. Why can’t I give no stars? Or negative stars? I just don’t understand why this place is packed with people waiting for seats. Nothing pisses you off more than wasting $ 50 and bad Tex-Mex. When the Dr. Pepper is the best part of a meal… And we even had to send the dr pepper back bc the refill tasted«chemically» That’s scary. The Queso is from a can and thick and goopy and just gross. The tortillas are definitely store bought and 60 seconds outside of the warmer, they are hard and crispy. The steak fajita meat, has no flavor, none, zilch, zip, nada! I’m not sure what kinda of sauce they are putting on top of the chicken enchiladas but it is the same consistency as the Queso. Yuck. Beans and rice have no flavor. I think the cook is afraid to season and everything basically tastes the same… Bland and blah. Neither me, my husband or my 3 yr old(whose palate leaves something to be desired) didn’t finish our food. It’s pretty pathetic when a 3yr old who loves bean and cheese tacos, only took 2 bites and decided he would try the rice and then refused to eat anything else. So in closing, if you have money to burn and no taste buds. This place is for you! Otherwise, your better off finding a Rosa’s.

I drive all the way from the far south side of Fort Worth just for the chicken enchiladas. the all male wait staff is great and always on top of service… I would rate it 5 stars except for the taste of the water, which is not their fault.

Went in with a party of three… was extremely dirty from front to back in both rooms with food on the floor!!! Got seated and waited 17 minutes for drink order to be taken and even longer for chips !!! After another 10 minutes waiter showed back up with drinks and we let him know we would like the salsa with the chips since we didn’t receive both at the time of chips. We ordered and after about a 30 – 40 minuet wait got our order and it two out of the three orders was wrong !!! I would never recommend this dump ??? Go somewhere good

We love this place for so many reasons. First off they have amazing beef fajita meat. Decided to get a piña colada this time which was perfect! Happy hour everyday from 3−6pm.

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is that the actual main dish(including sides) were delicious. The tea was awful, the tortillas are store bought(yuck)… And the queso… Well… Let’s just say I think it’s «cheese» product that’s just kind of wrong… Then they bake the top and bring it to you. The waitress kinda just disappeared… So I had to finally ask someone while he is bussing the table to find my waitress and bring the check. After sitting here… Waiting for 10 minutes after the meal. The shrimp fajitas, oh my goodness soo good! If I come back, I may have a margarita, skip the tea and just get a water… Can’t screw up water right? So now I’ve had time to write the review… She hasn’t come back with the credit card yet… Ugh… But the fajitas were delicious… Yum.

From the outset I want to confess we just moved here from Tucson AZ so this review might be pretty unfair. Okay, here we go… a. The chips have a chili powder coating that really isn’t that good. b. The salsa is really tomatoey with very little flavor. No cilantro, no real kick, no onion chunks, etc. c. We asked for a different salsa and the server brought us a green salsa which was equally lackluster. d. Our server brought us some grilled and sliced jalapeños that were seasoned with salt, etc. they were delicious!!! e. The corn tortillas were good. f. The beans and rice were good but not over the top as others have reviewed. g. We had the combo fajitas and they were very, very good. h. The house margaritas were good, not great. I. The pico de gallo was okay but not awesome. j. Service was excellent. Got seated right away and enjoyed our server very much. Federico, you rock! With so many options I doubt we will be back however I do think most who eat here will find this to be better than average Tex-Mex.

This place is one of my favorites. You can always rely on them to put a big plate of delicious Tex-Mex in front of you. My beef chimichanga was packed with steak strips. It was huge. In fact, you can’t go wrong with the beef enchiladas or the chicken enchiladas or the chimichanga or the rellenos or the fajaitas or the… I think you get the picture. One thing I like is that they have an option to build your own plate. Darn it, making myself hungry!
