Very nice environment, interesting décor and very inviting. Great chips and both salsas were delicious. I had the Tacos Pastor and I didn’t have one critique, they were seasoned lovely and the homemade corn tortillas were crazy good! Service was okay, but could have been better. I would definitely make another trip here!

Terrible service. Food is ok. We were treated terrible by bartender and waiter. We had to get up and find our waiter to get refills on drinks and to get menus. Ordered and waited 30 minutes for appetizers. We left after just appetizer because everything was so terrible.

Oh damn! The ceviche is wonderful! OH Snap snap snap! I also had the queso fundido. It was very tasty, especially the homemade corn tortillas. The salsas were great and chips just like I like. Margarita, mojito, and Mexican martini were all excellent. They have a great tequila selection. Plus, the staff was cool and fun! We will definitely come back!

I live at the Lofts at West 7th and we had resident night there tonight. I walked in with another resident at 6:45PM. The bartender told us we could sit in this area, and pointed, and didn’t even bother to bring us our menus. After 15 minutes of waiting, we got up and grabbed the menus ourselves. After another 20 minutes our waiter came to get our drink order and we ordered food too right away, knowing that if we didn’t it would take much longer. There were other Lofts at West 7th residents there who were also treated in the same manner. Then we waited another 40 minutes for our chips and salsa. At 8:00, they brought out the food to the table next to us who ordered about the same time. We were so excited that we were finally going to get our food soon. Too bad I heard some yelling in the kitchen and looked over to see my waiter drop the ceviche that I ordered. The waiter walked out past us to give a non-resident who had walked in after us and placed a ceviche on their table without a word to us. That was the final straw, my friend and I walked out of the restaurant with nothing to eat after waiting an hour and 15 minutes. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. They only had 2 waiters working although they knew about this event months in advance. This was awful and I just wanted to warn people to stay away because trust me it was not worth it. I have never been to a restaurant and waited over an hour and not get any food… I hope the Lofts never throws another resident event here as the waiters seemed to be more attentive to the other customers(although they had to wait long for their food too) and it’s offensive since the restaurant is getting paid for the food that we order. Other wiser residents left cash on the table for their drinks and walked out. This was not an enjoyable resident experience I was expecting. I should’ve listened all the other Unilocal reviews about how bad the service here was. There are plenty of other good restaurants around the area: Rodeogoat, Kona Grill, Salsa Limon, Velvet Taco, Terra, Fireside pies where your money and time will be better spent.

This place may as well rolled out the red carpet for my friend’s party. Service, food, and drinks were all excellent. Will definitely be returning.

We had a date night here a couple of weeks ago and just loved the food. It is not your typical Tex Mex. In fact, I don’t even think fajita’s are on the menu, so you might want to check it out online before you go. Everything seemed fresh and was served quickly. It really was delicious. Our waiter could have been a bit friendlier, but he got us in and out, so I guess that’s good. We weren’t really looking for«in and out» on a Saturday night, but still… it’s not like he was rude. He just didn’t give us that warm, friendly vibe that makes you want to stick around for another drink or dessert. The ambiance is nice. It’s very modern and trendy, which I love. The walls are concrete, as is the floor, so there isn’t anything to absorb noise. Because of this, it feels very loud. Everyone’s conversation echoes, so it can be a bit difficult to carry on a conversation with the person sitting across from you. Still, we will be back when it’s warmer and we can enjoy the patio! It is definitely worth checking out. Especially if you’re bored with the mainstream, chain restaurants!

Really like the food, Mexican with a dash of foodie :-)) First time in for lunch, not too many folks there at 2 pm, so we got GREAT service. Dos Equis draft was cold, my Bohemia bottle could have used about 5 – 10 degrees cooler. Guacamole starter very nicely done. Loved the twist on serving it with some mini tortillas to complement the yum chips(light and hot, not greasy). Brisket tacos nice. Again, small tortilla size makes it far easier to eat than a big old honking taco you get elsewhere. And at $ 9.95 for three of them, a good value and you don’t feel stuffed after finishing the plate. Small scoop of rice complements the dish, and it’s devoid of the mounds of lettuce, salsa and beans that overwhelm most plates of Mexican food. Didn’t try desserts, they sounded good, so I will have to come back. Wife and I got some sophisticated/fresh Mexican food in an inventive, cozy atmosphere for $ 50 for both of us including beer and generous tip for the great service. As Arnold said, «I’ll be back»

I was on a hunt for ceviche in Fort Worth when Unilocal led me here. The location and décor are beautiful; then again, all restaurants on West 7th are. The guitarist playing live music by the exit outside threw me off as to where the actual front door was but the bartender playfully laughed it off, eventually seating me in one of their cabana-looking tables in front of everyone that just saw me lap around the restaurant in search of a hostess. No worries though, we’re all friends here right? Our waitress wasn’t as energetic as the bartender but something about her calming, gentle voice made me feel like I could trust(her recommendations later on proved me right.) Onto the ceviche: they had a good variety of 4 or 5 to choose from and I ended up with the Sample 3 Platter with Red Tilapia, Salmon ceviche, and Tuna tartare –our waitresses recommendation. I wasn’t exactly craving tartare but I figured hell, why not. As we waited we had a bowl of fried chips that my date couldn’t stop eating and a chill green salsa as well as a warm red salsa. Add in two whiskey-on-the-rocks and up to this point everything was going swell. Finally, our Sampler gets in. It’s a long tray with 3 cocktail glasses filled with our picks and I have to say I’m still(still!) in awe of how delicious that tuna tartare was. The ceviche was light and fresh and definitely worth ordering a second time but I’ve turned onto that tartare. I remember mentioning that I’d want that at my wedding, which would probably make for an awkward first date; thankfully it was our second. After beating the bush over whether we wanted dessert or not our waitress convinced us to get the tres leches cake and it was divine! Thick and creamy and spongy without being overly sweet. She earned big points on her recommendations that night! The only downfall to the night was that service was pretty slow, especially for a Tuesday night. There were 2 other tables and a man at the bar so they weren’t busy per say, and I had good company to entertain me, yet after a while we both found ourselves waiting quietly for her to come by. I guess we didn’t cover enough of the menu to write a full report and I’m sure there’s something they make that doesn’t quite appeal to my pallet, but I went and was not only able to satisfy a craving I had going in but also fell in love with a few other items. What more can I ask for? I’ll definitely be going back.

With so many other places in Fort Worth churning out the same food, this place didn’t impress me. The food was okay. The queso fundido required a fork and knife. The shrimp cocktail was bland. I’ll give a thumbs up to the kiwi margarita, corn tortillas and tuna tartar. The patio is nice and service was good considering how busy it was. Honestly I don’t think I’ll come back.

went here for the CMYE. the entrance is the big wooden door, i got lost when i walked up. walking in you notice the huge bar and awesome décor and your greeted right away. everyone is so helpful here, great at their jobs. got seated right away in the Unilocal section and saw everyone woot woot! food: flauntas was average wasnt amazing. Brisket Sopes were tasty. the Queso wasn’t so good, you have to eat it fast and if you let it get cold its just not good anymore lol. Shrimp cocktail was okay and the Tuna was very sour, too much lime. –Both the Salmon and Tilapia ceviches were amazing if you get an app get that. All of their margarittas are great, i esp like the kiwi one next the mango, and then the lime. i dont like frozen ones but i actually liked these. id come here again to try the entrees and then some.

I had a really fabulous lunch here, and so I’m making an educated guess that brunch and dinner would be just as great. YUM. First of all, Hacienda San Miguel passes the ever-important Chips and Salsa test. The chips are warm and fantastic, and they come with two salsas… a sort of smoky red and then a more tangy salsa verde. San Miguel’s menu isn’t huge, but there are plenty of options and each meal is artfully put together. The chef and owner of this charming little spot, Hugo, describes his menu as «old world ideas mixed with Modern Mexican techniques.» Couldn’t put it any better. Classic, fresh ingredients presented beautifully on stark white dishes. I ordered the Tacos Pastor; citrus marinated pork, cilantro, onion, and grilled pineapple chunks(my fave part) in homemade nixtamal corn tortillas. These tortillas are jammin’, for real. They are small but so hearty; thick and warm with a hint of lime and salt. Just perfect! Served with my tacos was a side of fragrant white rice and a spoonful of pickled red onions. These little onions were like tiny pink jewels. That sounds kind of weird, but that’s what came to mind. They are precious and delish! $ 13 for a lunch of this quality is absolutely fine by me. I’m planning on becoming a regular and can’t wait to try dishes like the slow cooked ribs, grilled quail, and the pan-seared trout. The inside of Hacienda San Miguel is mod; tall booths, luxurious-looking and colorful furniture, and a contemporary wooden bar in the center. The outside patio is pretty adorable as well, complete with fans and cushioned seats. You can visit this restaurant for both a fancy or casual night out on West 7th. It is what you make it! Hacienda San Miguel will serve you incredible food with style.

Food was actually very good, and reasonably priced, but the service was so bad it was(almost) comical. Eating brunch here was 150 minutes of my life I will never get back. Listen, I’m not heartless, the staff here were down a couple teammates due to calling in sick, and they had an unexpected large group show up. We were with a group of 20, and you can’t expect quick service under either condition. But the way you handle adversity says a lot about your restaurant staff, and sadly they seemed prone to just curl up on the floor in the fetal position rather than cowboy up and get er done. Summary: 12:15pm reservations, I arrived first just after noon and was seated at the pre-arranged table for 20. I noticed the only menus on table were kid’s printouts and suggested they would want to put down at least ½ brunch menus. Our group was seated as they arrived, chips and salsa were on tables, and drink orders were taken. Everybody was seated and waiting on their drinks within a few minutes of our reservation. We requested brunch menus and were told by our server she would bring them right over. Well drink service took about 15 – 20 minutes and by 12:45 we still did not have any menus, so I went in search of some at empty hostess stand, was only able to find one, doubling the total number of brunch menus for a table of 12 adults and 8 kids to 2 menus. By 1:15pm we were told the unexpected group had all the brunch menus and they would get them to us soon. At this point a good restaurant would have apologized to group, brought some complimentary appetizers out, and made sure our drinks were refilled. Sadly the only staff member who truly was on top of her game was the chips and salsa filler. It seems very poor strategy to not have enough menus for your entire restaurant capacity, and even worse to let majority of them go to 1 group. Also, did I mention the place was only ½ full? Surely the two groups could have been asked to share menus between every 2 adults. Skip forward to 2:15pm when our food finally arrives, annoyingly spread out over 10 – 15 minutes, 2 – 3 plates at a time so everybody felt awkward even when those of us without plates insisted they begin. The entire situation was so comically absurd that I did something I never do, I asked for a discount. The manager gave us a whopping 10% and a free appetizer or dessert coupon. If you want the coupon let me know, as we will NOT be using it. But actually I wouldn’t recommend going here, as you will undoubtedly be disappointed in the service. Knowing your service is bad and being apologetic while clearly trying your best is easy to forgive. Knowing you are providing slow, poor service and not even showing remorse is absurd in a town with literally close to 100 TexMex alternatives.

Delicious and adventurous fare. The staff at this restaurant were great. We did not have a reservation, but were seated within 45 minutes. We waited at the bar in the meantime. The décor is pretty cool. We sat in a booth with comfy cushions and throw pillows. I had the trout and stuffed zucchini. Husband had the lobster enchiladas. Daughter had the pablano with crab. All were wonderful(we share)! And the green salsa is the best.

Walked in with a friend to look at the drink menu at the bar. The bartender said, «OK. The deal is if you look at the menu, you have to get a drink.» My friend and I shyly giggled, then he offered to make two margaritas for $ 5 each if we stayed.(Opposed to the regular price of about $ 10) We stayed for two rounds and I think this was the nicest bartender I’ve ever met. I forget his name, but kuddos to him for marketing us and getting us to stay. He gave us discount coupons for appetizers/desserts. I’d love to go back and try there food! Noteworthy service and an engaging Mexican-hip atmosphere.

Good food, refreshing cocktails and a pleasing interior design all marred by BADSERVICE. Our waiter was a boor. No manners, no finesse, no clue. When pressed for a description of the Acapulco Style Shrimp Cocktail he said, «it’s like cocktail sauce and shrimp in a bowl.» Sounds like they won’t be giving El Asadero’s Coctel de Camaron a run for its money any time soon. Lovers of Mexican cooking, I recommend you skip Hacienda San Miguel and head over to Mesa Veracruz Coastal Cuisine on West Jefferson Boulevard in Dallas for a dining experience that won’t let you down.

I really really really love their brunch!!! It’s the best breakfast taco I’ve ever had! My boyfriend got enchiladas with some kind of white sauce and that was delicious too! Our service was decent, nothing special and I can’t complain. I can imagine their lunch wouldn’t be the best. Nothing jumps out at me on the lunch menu and it seems really limited. Go for the brunch. It’s your best bet.

I’ve been here twice so far. Both on nights where my friends and I couldn’t decide where to go. Indecision led us here, but it’s good enough to be a first choice dining spot! The interior is surprisingly cool. I love the intimate booths tucked inside recesses in the wall. They’re right next to the bar but no one has been sitting there whenever I’ve gone. Most people seem to sit outside. The chips and salsa are good. The green salsa, I think avocado tomatillo, is my favorite. Each time we’ve started our meal with the Sopes Rancheros. Tasty little masa boats topped with shredded brisket, corn, cheese and crema. There’s three to an order and everyone wanted the last one. While they’re debating who should have it, I just reach over and eat it. Oops! I washed those down with a Watermelon Margarita rimmed with Chipotle Salt. It reminded me of the Mexican watermelon lollipops that are covered in a tangy chile powder. I’ve also tried the Amelia’s Gone cocktail which was alright. I prefer the margarita. For entrees I’ve had the Costillas de Puerco(pork ribs) and the Seafood Chile Poblano. The ribs were covered in an overwhelming red chile sauce. It wasn’t spicy, but the flavor was too bold. I scraped most of it off. The ribs were fairly juicy but dry in some parts. The Seafood Chile Poblano was great. I’m always hesitant to order anything that combines cheese and seafood but this was a perfect balance. The asadero cheese is mild enough to compliment the scallops, shrimp and blue crab. The lobster cream sauce reminded me of a thick lobster bisque. It was served with julienned veggies instead of rice as the menu states but I actually preferred it that way. Rarely do I finish an entire plate of food but there was nothing but a poblano pepper stem left on my plate at the end. It’s not the cheapest meal you’ll find in the area but I can’t wait to bring some out of town friends here.

These are those spring days when the skies just open up for you: full of promise and not yet so hot that we remember that July and August are months we don’t have the option of skipping. A friend of mine once said, un-ironically, upon moving to Texas that this state has four seasons: spring, summer, hell and fall. She may have been onto something. It’s hot, that’s all I’m saying. So I’ve learned to appreciate it when it’s nice out but not so unbearable as yet. One grand spot for that scenario is Hacienda San Miguel, situated as part of the West 7th buildout, and the keeper of a fine patio themselves: I nabbed an order of the Costillas de Puerco(pork spare ribs, slow-cooked in their own juices with dry chile pepper sauce, served with rice and grilled corn on the cob. It’s solid.): the sauce is a little on the intense side, so they’ve taken to serving it on the side per usual, but it worked well as a dipping exercise, and the rice and corn proved a bit of counter balance. You won’t find a meal here that will change your life, but you’ll definitely find a fine spot to kick back and savor a bit. I paired my meal with a couple of Modelo Especiales and definitely left pleased. Can get a little spendy, so I’m not here all the time, but executed well.

On our return trip to Fort Worth we made sure to go here again, and it didn’t disappoint. I would also like to add that the margaritas are delicious. mmm The only bad thing is that again this place was completely empty, it is so good — I don’t understand it!

Tried this place with some friends last week. We were heading to a different restaurant but the laughter and delicious smells from the patio made us change our direction and stop in… so glad we did! We each started off with one of their margaritas and they were all great. I had the pomegranate margarita on the rocks and it was crisp and refreshing… not too sweet as is sometimes the case with fruity margs. They serve 2 different salsas with their chips and they were both really good. Pretty sure they had to refill our salsa bowls more than once :) For dinner I had the pan seared trout. The fish was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. It was served with 2 pieces of zucchini stuffed with crab and shrimp… TO. DIE. FOR. My friends both got the grilled ahi tuna tacos and said they were great — I was too busy stuffing my face with crab and shrimp stuffed zucchini to try them… maybe next time! All in all, this was a fun, tasty dining experience. We will be back!
