Prices are CHEAP! Huge, filling pizza slice for $ 2, croissant sandwiches are $ 2 – 3, daily specials/entrees $ 3 – 4, salads are priced by weight, and coffee is free for students. I satisfied with the bites that they provide. Café hrs are M-F 7am-7pm, S-S 7am-2pm. Grill closes at 2pm.

Your at the hospital, you are hungry and all other choices mean driving somewhere. Plaza Café fills the need. You certainly wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here but hey, you are at the hospital and tired of hearing the beeps, buzzes and repeats of whatever program on the TV in the patient floors… The Café has all the bases covered from healthy to so unhealthy that the Cardiology department must sponsor the food to drum up business. It is pretty chaotic at peak times and can be difficult to find a place to sit. That being what it is, the one thing that is just a disaster here is the smell when you enter — there is one of those old school try returns where you can put your food tray and it gets moved around behind a wall presumably to the dish washing area. Problem is the thing smells like the sewer and it is right where you enter/exit the café. Kind of gets you coming and going. not good at all; you don’t smell it once you are in by the food serving or eating areas. If you had a choice, the smell when walking in would turn you right around. But hey, you don’t have a choice here for eating so I doubt they have any motivation to deal with this. Bummer. Bottom line: This is your best choice here … oh, it is your only choice. The hospital has great docs and that is what matters. I hope whomever you are visiting at the hospital is recovering well!

If you need to., go to this café during the lunch or breakfast time(dinner time is usually the lunch left overs and cold sandwiches, but the grill is still open). For the quantity that you get, the food is very inexpensive here. But the quality can be sketchy at times(beware the dried out fish /meat in the trays), but the grill is usually a pretty safe bet.
