Shine Express Carwash

I love this place. They do an amazing detail job for only $ 35. They are always quick and they do not leave the greasy residue on your dash like many car wash places do. Their waiting area isn’t great, but because of the price and quality I am fine with that.

The car wash machine is amazing! THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I love my car but not enough to have to deal with rude employees in order to get her a good wash.
I will be looking for a new car wash and will use UnilocalS advice to do so because all these bad reviews about Shine are spot on.

GREAT customer service! Our truck was VERY muddy. The men at the drying station told us to back through. Before the second pass, staff used a hose to spray the stubborn areas and then we went through again free. Love having staff that dry the windshields and rear view mirrors!!!

Good value for a car wash, but I’ve had several encounters with shady people there, and today’s was the last. I parked next to a guy at the vacuums that appeared to be detailing his car (on the sunny side). Just as I was about to leave, he confronted me, swearing at me about parking next to him when there were plenty of spaces on the other side. Guessing he had a «deal» that he needed to close and I was taking his space. Last time I’ll be going there.

I paid monthly for the unlimited car washes for several years. Recently a new employee was so rude to me on three separate visits that I spoke to a manager. The employee actually yelled at me two times — -once because I didn’t take my foot off the brake early enough (even though the other workers had always given me a signal when to do it and he didn’t) and another time when I asked him to come to my window because I needed to update my credit card information and he yelled at me «I will NOT walk back and forth to every car». THEN, he turned off the car wash soap and water and air when I was halfway through. I went to the manager and he acknowledge me and said he knew I was a long time customer and went to talk to the employee. Of course, I had to pull my soapy car back through and he was screaming at the manager. Seriously, I had never done or said a rude thing to this young man until the third time he treated me badly and I said I would never return and I would cancel my membership because of him. I called the main office and a nice woman assured me someone would call me back and they never did. I tried to call the number here, and as someone else said, the mailbox is always full. The car washes weren’t great, but it was terribly convenient and relatively cheap, but I will never return.

First off, the car wash was fine. There are no complaints with that. But I purchased a $ 5 basic wash and the next day I had a $ 14 charge on my credit card. I’ve tried to call them but the cell phone voice mail box is always full… I think I’ll try going up there and speaking to someone face-​to-​face and hopefully I’ll get everything resolved. But in the meantime, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve used this place for years for very basic $ 3 – 5 washes with free vac. Never been pressured to detail but today I needed to get a car ready to sell. The checkin and payment was easy process without and hassles. Saturday at noon (extremely busy time) and total time was approx 60min, with them working on car for 45min of that time. Easy process and great value. Friendly staff. They were very concerned about making sure the car was as clean as I wanted.

Be very careful with your credit card info at this place ! We had to give the actual number and exp date for our car washes since we didn’t have it on hand. The manager took it and charged the card as a «keyed in» transaction.
By the next day we had multiple charges from Mexico to LA. This credit card was only 2 days old and we used it at another establishment as a «swipe» charge. So there was no keeping the number or exp date unlike this car wash did. Went to discuss this with the manager and he got his GM on the phone «Santana» and he wasn’t helpful at all in even try to find out who may have done this within their establishment. He was more concerned about getting me on my way.

I am trying to keep this short, don’t go here if you want good service, the automated wash is okay but the hand towel dryers are usually lazy and leave wet spots streaks, etc. I have had good service once or twice, that has come from the mexican employees, other employees don’t do a good job, I wound up here from a groupon purchase & complained to them, they credited part of my money back so that makes it less of a rip-off.If your paying full price try somewhere else.

So here’s the good news: Shine Express Carwash is a great tunnel wash that will get your rig all shiny and new-​looking for around $ 10. Post-​wash, a couple of employees will hand-​dry your car and then you have a number of vacuum bays available for you to use, free of charge. Handy trash cans help make sprucing things up a snap. Plus, they have a rainy-​day policy and will sometimes give you a free wash if it rains within a few days. Nice!
Shine Express has a remote detail center as well and the cleaning team there does a great job. They are very thorough and my car always leaves looking brand new. This detail center, however, is Shine’s undoing.
A team member will ring you up at the tunnel entrance and 4 out of 5 times they try very hard to sell you the detail center services. Too hard, in fact, and it’s borderline pushy. Beyond that, some of these team members are outright dishonest about the wait time. Often I’ve been given an estimated wait time that ended up being a ridiculous underestimate. Don’t tell me it’s only going to be 25 or 30 minutes if we’re realistically looking at an hour or more.
I’ve seen other customers demand refunds or discounts because the actual wait time was so off base from what they were told.
I recommend Shine Express for the tunnel wash and the vacuum bays. The detail centers does do a good job but do not believe the time estimates given by the cashier. Take whatever time they give you and triple it. That’s your wait time.
