Spec’s Wine, Spirits and Finer Foods

Great selection and low prices! I love Spec’s but I think this one is my favorite location.

The beer department is fabulous. I know not to come on mondays as this is the day the beer guy is off. The others in the store cant even compete with what Doug knows, pretty sure thats his name. The largest can selection i have seen i have been a avid can collector since the early 90s. Huge all texas can section always growing every week i go in. Also calvin and bill in spirits and wine know there stuff, i have had issues with others customer service buy these three men make shopping there worth it

Combination grocery store & liquor store, with plenty of selection and choice. The beer selection is lackluster, at best. Prices are okay, but addition of deli and produce — plus restaurant supply area — provides a total cocktail prep experience.

Spec’s is great!
I actually go to the store on Hulen St more often, but have been to this one several times. The Wedgewood location is bigger and has a better selection, but both locations are very good and both locations have great staff who are always quick to recommend a wine or spirit if you’re wanting to try something new.
Give Spec’s a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. :)

This location used to be a Tom Thumbs. Spec’s is a fun store to get lost in. You can spend hours in here. Wines, liquor, beer, oh my! They have a deli counter as well. They have unique things like bacon soda. Chocolate infused with liquor? Yum. The staff knows their stuff and is really helpful.

There’s a Spec’s a little closer to me but I like this one a lot more! There’s such a huge selection of liquors, wine, mixers, EVERYTHING. This is definitely (like another Unilocaler said) a Toys R Us for adults! One of the main reasons I love coming in here is because you’ll never know what you’ll find. And the prices are perfect. I’ve never been to another store of this type (total wine for example) so I have nothing to compare it to though.

This place is the adult version of Toys «R» Us! They seriously have everything! From Tea to a great deli and of course all the booze!
I was shocked they didn’t have jello! And the customer service is lacking…
I will keep coming back bc of the prices and huge selection!

Not such a good place regarding customer service. Went in a month ago to get a specific scotch. «Manager» said he would order me a case and have it by Tuesday. Two weeks later nothing so I called. They had no idea what I was talking about but the «Manager» said he would personally take care of it and call me in a couple days. Two weeks later nothing. If they have what you want, buy it. If they don’t, go elsewhere.

Shut the HEXX UP! It’s still an Albertsons… kinda… but it’s a SPEC’s too!

And the prices are very competitive, and beat several of the other Spec’s around town!

I am such a lush, I know this, but WOW! The selection here is overwhelmingly good. It is an old grocery store and the owners have taken advantage of that. They sell some small food items and cheese that can be paired with their wines. The best though was the beer selections.
Over the past couple years I have become quite the beer snob and Specs helps proliferate this attribute. Why? The vast selection that is full of GREAT quality beers. I purchased 6 beers there that I had never tried but wanted too. Funny thing is, there were at least a dozen more I wanted to get. It was total sensory overload. One thing did suck thought… Out of the 5 people working that night there wasn’t anyone that knew anything about the beer selection or where things hoppy were located. Can’t wait to be back in town and go again!

Huge. Great selection. Huge. Very large store. Lots of good shit here. I liked it better than the total wine in Dallas I frequent.
Came in before a Halloween party Friday night. So stoked to find kulmbacher eisbock and founders breakfast stout. Mmm delicious.
I probably looked pretty ridiculous with my Pauly bleeker get up and my preggo wife, Juno in tow. Staff was nice though. If I lived close I’d be tempted to try and grocery shop here.

Fantastic. It is basically a grocery store where you can buy alcohol. Also has great gift baskets.

I came here today at around 11:00AM (Tuesday). Yes, it is a big store but I think on weekends and when they do special events it will be pretty busy as seem less big. They have tons of alcohol-​related beverages and lots of goodies to eat. I think people don’t quite know what it is yet based upon the big bunny head on the outside of the store. The outside sort of reminds me of a hardware or gardening store. But word will spread. Very nice selection of everything you could want and lots of stuff you find out you now want. I don’t think the pricing was too bad as you would not go in here looking for just regular beer you could get at the local grocery store. They have a 5% discount if you use cash or debit. Also they have cheap beer to up to high dollar items ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars (under lock and key, of course). Lots of cheese, meats, deli, snakcs, and other foodie delights. If you like Central Market, Whole Foods, Market Street, etc, you will love this place. It is behind Razzoo’s.

Overpriced, Well Stocked, Good Service
The store is beautiful, and has plenty of free parking in the front of the store. Specs in FW has food, beverages, wine, cheese, sausage, beer, alcohol basically everything… it is like a supermarket for parties! Pricing is high but that is the norm I guess at Specs in Dallas… and now Fort Worth. Things are cheaper elsewhere… but they have everything and it is a one stop shop that adds value. The staff is very helpful. If you need multiple items, this is the place, if you want a bargain, look elsewhere…

Wow, they sued every square foot of the former Tom Thumb location to build this newest Spec’s into their fleet of stores. The grand opening was impressive. Tons of samplings going on from the cheeses and produce, to the hard liquors and wines. The aisles could still use a little filling, but I will say that they did have an impressive selection of products that I can find at most any other store, but split between several locations. Essentially, this is a one stop shop instead of going to multiple. I also noticed a decent selection of products that I hadn’t seen at any other stores at all, so there’s an added incentive in that. Prices are very fair, and heck, with a grocery store attached, its not a bad place to check out for all needs.

This is much more then a liquor store. They have food and a deli. It is a old Thom Thumb store so it is very large. They had to add other things to feel it up. We went on Grand opening day so they had a bunch of samples. Which makes it more fun to go to. The prices are not that good. We can get better deals at Total Wine on Hulen St.
For a liquor store this is a fine store very large so you have a good selection of booze.

Wow! What a store. This place is the biggest liquor store in all of Texas. It is in an old grocery store. They not only have liquor, but a lot of groceries. It is more expensive than Total Wine, but the staff is really friendly. If you do here, you must eat in the deli. I had the Italian Beef sandwich and it was to die for!!! I would give the deli alone 5 stars because it was incredible!

Not sure why the negativity in the other reviews. I mean, yeah, it is big, but it’s what is around today. bigger, right? I wandered around and checked out the offerings and must say, I enjoyed the offerings that were available. Yeah, they have some kinks to work out, but it’s cool, it’s new.
Customer service is top notch and everybody is friendly there. It’s good and I will definitely come back when working in town.
Extra points for the employee that answered my questions and even made some extra suggestions.

I saw that this Spec’s was open so I dropped in to check it out. I had been looking forward to it because there are several other discount liqour stores in about a 3 square mile area and I figured that they wouldn’t open this one unless it was going to be good competition. I was wrong.
The prices are much higher than Total Wine which is just a couple of miles down the road. In fact their prices are higher than any of the other store in the area. Their wine is hard to see because it is in a standard wine rack with the bottoms of the bottles sticking out. You can’t see the labels.
Spec’s won’t be in business long like this.

55,800 square feet of awesomeness! Love it. The selection is killer. The staff is very helpful but not pushy. It’s not completely done– some isles are still being filled in but it’s wonderful. There’s a deli, huge humidor, cheeses and cured meats, snacks etc. I really like the cash/​debit discount they do too. I could get lost in here.
