T & P Station

Half price crafts (Wednesdays), great apps, and daily specials keep me coming back but the patio keeps me addicted to this place. Check it out if you’re going to the train station or come here and then decide to hop on the train. Either plan is effective.

Didn’t have a whole lot of time to check this place out, but it seemed cool and safe during the day. I’ll have about 3.5 hours here next month, when I go up to see my friend in Oklahoma, so I’ll post a more in-​depth review then. Western terminus of the TRE train.

Unfortunately, the cons, for me, out weigh the pros. The acoustics are awful. Customer service is basically nonexistent. But the real kicker is the lights. I’m a wedding planner and my Bride and I were told the lights could be dimmed. We heard this had been an issue in the past so on multiple occasions we asked again. In the middle of the reception when I asked for the lights to be dimmed I was told that wasn’t an option because of the storm and a breaker issue. They said it was either on or off. Disappointed, because we did not rent up lights, we finally decided off was our best bet, at least we had a few lights the DJ had brought. When I then asked for them to turn them off, they came back and said they can no longer turn them off either because it would be to hazardous to touch the breaker box. So basically, I had a packed dance floor as bright as day and about every 5 mins someone coming up to me asking if we could turn the lights down. Very frustrating that the «storm» that came through weeks prior was the reason we were given, yet not myself or my bride was notified of the issue.
I know now to avoid the place altogether. Sad though, because it truly is an asset to historic Fort Worth.

T&P is a unique little spot to host a special event. Plenty of parking and easy load-​in for vendors. The facility basically allows you to bring in whomever you want in terms of vendors so you have a lot of control over your budget with no crazy minimums. If you are hosting a simple cocktail party with light background music then this place might be perfect for you.
Two big problems with this venue.
First, the acoustics are horrid. If you are going to have any sort of «program» in here with a presentation, host speaker/​mc or dancing then I pray for your event. Just save yourself the agony and go somewhere else.
Second, there is zero control of the ambiance and lighting in this venue. Despite what you might be told by the sales folks, the overhead lights are not dimmable; it’s either on or off. One solution to this would be to bring in a lighting company and simply turn off the overhead lights all together. We tried this solution for a client where they spent a lot of money on lighting and the facility was unwilling to turn off the lights as promised (despite our multiple follow ups and reminders that this was going to happen). Years later this issue still exists and the facility has mislead multiple clients on this detail. Do not consider having your wedding here unless you are 100% certain they have addressed and resolved this issue (although don’t forget about issue number 1 above).

Neat old train station that is still used for daily commuters. Of which I have now joined the ranks. It’s a great way to go back and forth to Dallas, with many stops along the way via the TRE. The bar is great for if you’re late and want to miss traffic or just need a drink to end a long work day.

Pretty cool station in a very old building but kind of hard to find the designated lot especially in the morning when it’ dark. The address says Lancaster but it seems the designated lot is on Vickery Blvd and not too many signs to point you to the correct parking. There is parking lot on Lancaster but unclear whether it was for the TRE so be wary of that!
