I am a BuenoHead & frequent Taco Bueno. Each restaurant has its good/bad days and the condiment bar can change depending on the time of day. That said, the 5600 Camp Bowie Taco Bueno staff were pleasant and the restaurant & bathroom were clean. The condiment bar was fresh, well stocked and clean. Free wifi works great! \O/. The 5600 Camp Bowie Taco Bueno is an older restaurant but the staff show their pride well by offering a clean & cheerful place to eat.

Vegans stay away. They use beef extract in the refriend beans. Rendering the only salvageable menu item worthless. Why any place would ruin the beans with animal ingredients is beyond me. They would have so much more business if they offered some vegan items. But none here. They have pretty much eliminated a very large group of people including vegetarians from eating at their restaurant. It’s never smart to eliminate people in business. Make money however you can. They are also not living up to the requirements of the FDA. They do not include an ingredient list on their site or an allergen list. This is required. If you contact their corporate office they don’t even have an ingredient list. Except to say yep our beans have beef in them HA! Crappy place stay away.

This was my first time and probably last time to a taco bueno. Wanted to give this place a try since I’m new to Texas and just wanted to see if this any better than Taco Bell for Mexican fast food. This location that I want to is a dive, interior is dark and grimey, their salsa bar had flies flying all around it and it didn’t look like the employees kept that area clean, all the tables and floors were filthy as well, saw garbage everywhere. Food was presented pretty sloppy as well as I had refried bean stains on top of my tray and the food is disgusting. Just an overall bad experience.

Ordered the Bueno chilada platter. It came out really fast. For a fast food place, the food wasn’t too bad. The cashier was very friendly and corteous. The restaurant itself appeared to be very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean. Overall a nice experience. I will be back.

Oh Bueno-my love for you knows no bounds and this location is no exception! My bestie and his wife live just down the road from this location and anytime I come to visit it’s a safe bet you’ll see me here on the regular. Upon multiple visits I’ve dined inside and on the go via drive thru and the food always comes out fresh, fast, and correct!(I have crazy complicated custom orders and they always get it right). From mexi dips and chips, to bean burritos, I love what they’re serving. My friends swear by the potato burrito(add guac) as well as the BOB(big olé burrito). They offer a variety of special, limited time items, so be sure to check out the menu board to see what’s going on at the time. Salsa bar has two different types of salsa, as well as onions, jalapenos, pic, etc and is clean fresh and ready to go every visit. Service is always friendly and more than willing to offer suggestions and again to accommodate any sort of custom order I’m ready to throw at them. Go check ‘em out, you deserve Bueno!

First off, exterior is run down and filthy. Once inside, I was asked to wait, which I did, for about five minutes, while the manager and the other one employee were in the office looking over papers. The manager finally came out to take my order. Afterwards, I looked for a clean table to sit at and found that none of them were wiped down. There was remnants of food on every table! Come on guys. And the food… yeah. Equal to the service and cleanliness– terrible.

Staple. This is a standard stop when I feel a need for some tex-mex but don’t want to wait for food. Its really the salsa I go there for… I don’t know how much crack they put in that salsa but I can not get enough of it. Service isn’t all that great but hey… you get what you pay for

MexiDips and chips, combo burritos, and taco salads… those were my favorite fast food dishes at age 16… and at age 38, it still holds true. I remember fondly my days in college when there was no Taco Bueno in Lubbock. On my drives home from west Texas, I knew exactly in Abilene the Taco Bueno was located(about a mile off I-20). It was always my first stop on the way home and my last stop on the way back. This is really fast food at it’s finest… a fresh salsa bar was practically unheard of two decades ago… and it’s still there today(salsa, jalepenos, pico de gallo, onions) so I can fix my food to the right degree of spicy, tangy, or tart. The value menu is great… and everything always tastes much fresher than that place with the Bell. The only thing holding this location back from a five-star rating is how slow the drive-thru can be at times. Super duper slow… not great considering the location and how long it can take to get through that wacky intersection once you do get out. Ah, but Bueno will always have a place in my heart as the best true fast food around. While my palette has evolved in some ways, when it comes to this place, I’m still a teenager!

As I arrive upon the most elegant Taco Bueno, i am blown away by their beautiful display of landscape. not to mention 3 staff members outside chiefin’ cigs. My first thought was that this place is between a Taco Bell and a Taco Cabana. In this case, Taco C being the winner. I went with two Beef Muchachos, and it clearly was the wrong choice. The quality of the beef is outstanding but the way they wrap it is absurd. I’ve never had a tortilla taste so bad and ruin a meal? In a pissed off mood, I storm to the counter and order the Flame broiled Steak Taco. This changed my mood completely as it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted(thats what she said). Do not order the Beef Muchacho, but rather the beef tacos. When they say they have a «Salsa Bar», they lie. Its one type of hot sauce with napkins and lemons. Who eats lemons with Mexican food? Isn’t it usually limes? Check out the salsa bar at Taco C. First class

Oh I love Taco Bueno. We have always had a love/hate relationship until this summer. They had a 2 for 1.00 menu, and it was love a first sight. I swear I ate there almost every day. Love their salsa bar, and their cinnamon chips.

this place puts Taco hell to shame! If you are ever in Texas, PLEASE eat here and fed-ex your left overs to me! There is no Taco Bueno in Cali and I want them here so bad, i am willing to franchise it :) The got the best beans here because you know they use lard!!! what to get: –crunchy potato burrito. ohhh soooo goood!!! –bean muchaco!!! its like a thick flour tortilla that’s semi deep fried with refried beans. –mexi dip & chips… better than nachos. you get queso and guacamole in a tortilla Shell with a side of chips! the best part is that there is a salsa bar… so slap on the pico di gallo!
