The Yoga Project – Fort Worth Riverside Yoga Studio

I tried The Yoga Project in their Fort Worth studio and was pleasantly surprised. The location is a bit odd — the building looks like a doctor’s office and there are some within the same complex. I wasn’t sure I had arrived at the right place until I walked into the studio. The studio is really just one large room with a great view of the Trinity River and food truck park — it has bathrooms and cubbies — maybe even showers, I didn’t really poke around. The room stayed about 95 degrees throughout the practice which is definitely warm, but not unbearable.
In terms of instruction, I wasn’t sure what type of yoga we’d be practicing. I am a fan of Vinyasa Flow and this practice was a little more static. I also expected a little more instruction in between postures, but that may be more typical with VF since you are constantly moving.
For the price, it was a good session. I’d be interested in other types of classes but didn’t see any distinction on their online schedule.

The Yoga Project is wonderful. It is a great blend of relaxation and difficulty. The teachers help you throughout class to perfect your technique, but they also are very understanding that each person’s body is different. The space overlooks the Trinity River and has great lighting as well. Love this place!

I came here today as a guest with my friend who already had a membership. We were greeted by the instructor, Jan immediately. She made us feel welcomed and answered all the questions we had. The class was a AMAZING! It was my first time ever doing hot yoga. Jan and the class made it feel right at home. I liked how she walked around making sure our form was correct. I’m not saying she’s breathing down your neck and pointing you out in front of everyone. (just in case you think you might get embarrassed) She was so calm, attentive and extremely helpful when I needed help with my form. I will be signing up for the membership because of her! Just go and do it, you won’t regret it!

I’ve been a member of TYP for two years, pretty much since they opened this location. It’s very conveniently located for me but I love going there because the environment and staff are so welcoming. Every instructor is great and understands that every BODY in the room is at a different level that day. Even someone who practices 4 – 5 days a week may have to modify due to an injury or whatever reason. The approach at this studio is very forgiving and encouraging.
The temperature is around 94 – 96 degrees, depending on the humidity and outside temperatures. You can bring your own mat, towels, water or you can rent all of those things for a nominal fee. They usually have a great first-​timer special and the monthly unlimited rate is one of the cheaper ones in town, for such a high quality studio. There are many convenient class times. There are two showers if you need to freshen up before heading back to work, and they usually have hot tea available for you to enjoy after class.
As others have mentioned, the studio looks over the Trinity River, which provides a nice background for your practice (so long as you aren’t distracted by the runners and cyclists on the trail below). The Clearfork Food Truck park is right next door if you want to retox after your detox!
With membership, you get to attend their other three studios in Arlington, Mansfield and Waxahachie for no additional fee. They also put on a number of interesting workshops such as inversions, back/​spine health, and beginner series. I can’t recommend this studio enough!

I’ve been going here a few weeks now and love it! Viewing the river and the landscape during your practice is really refreshing but even better than that is the staff and the atmosphere!

I just attended my first class at The Yoga Project in Fort Worth and absolutely loved it! I was a little nervous (about the temperature and trying out a new place) but it couldn’t have been a better experience. The temperature was perfect, hot, but not overwhelmingly hot, and the instructor/​owner (Dave) was very friendly and helpful. It is just a beautiful and welcoming yoga studio. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Went to my first class this morning after my run on the trails. Everyone was so nice and very accommodating. The class was very warm and great! Challenging enough for someone with experience but not judgemental if you aren’t. Overall awesome experience. Would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and not too expensive (especially compared to other studios) to drop in on a single class which is always a plus when you are trying to get your Yoga on!

My daughter and I have been going to the studio in Fort Worth for 3 months. We love TYP. The instruction is helpful and just the right amount. The instructors make sure the needs of all levels of students are met, they know just the right amount of challenge and encouragement! There is not a hint of pretension or superiority — we feel very comfortable and appreciate the friendliness of the instructors and the people we have seen. Each instructor brings their own personality to the class — and though the classes are similarly taught, it never feels repetitive — we have gained something different from each one! There are many class times and we have never had a problem booking a class — even at the last minute. The temperature does seem to be pretty evenly regulated now — it has never been too hot or cold.

I really enjoy the variety of teachers at the Yoga Project Fort Worth. The location is divine against the Trinity River and next to the fabulous food truck park! I have taken four classes there so far and I have never been disappointed. The teachers are friendly, professional and helpful. There is plenty of room and I always feel great afterwards. Great space!

I went to a class here while on travel to FW and it was great! Easy to sign up, not too expensive for a one class drop in, and mat rentals were reasonable too. The staff and instructor were very welcoming also, even though I was a first timer. The class itself was challenging but not impossible. I’m definitely coming back here if my travels take me back, and I wish there was something like this at home!

So I’ve been going for a few weeks now and I love this place. I’m a big girl and I have NEVER felt uncomfortable and the staff have always been so kind and ready with modifications. I’m greeted at the door every time I come with a smile and if I’ve taken that instructors class more than once I’m greeted by name.
Online sign up is a breeze.
Yes, it’s hot. Like, whoa. But I love that.

The Yoga Project is a nice studio, depending on what you’re looking for.
Pros:
–It’s clean
–The staff is friendly and helpful
–Parking is easy
–Centrally located, right off of University and I-​30
–They offer several class times, unlike other studios in the area
–Classes are reasonably priced
Cons:
–It’s not hot yoga. It’s warm and comfortable, but it’s not hot. The website says that they heat the rooms to 95 degrees, but I’ve been situated next to the thermostat on a couple of occasions and it’s never exceeded 84 degrees.
–Be sure to use the restroom before you go, because they have one and you could wait a long time.
–It seems to be a very social atmosphere, which is great if you’re looking for that. One of my favorite things about yoga is the chance to quiet my mind after a busy day, and that’s not an option here. People talk before, during, and after the class.
–There are no mirrors. Other people may see that as a plus, but I like being able to check my form in a mirror.
There aren’t many yoga studios in Ft. Worth that offer so many class times, so I’ll likely return with the hope that some of the cons are just growing pains.

This yoga studio just opened in Ft. Worth and it is very spacious and beautiful! The studio is on the second story of a building and is surrounded with windows and overlooks the Trinity River. The enormous windows and the views are spectacular! The studio is decorated very nicely with dark wood floors and feels very inviting and warm. Their yoga instructors are super friendly and helpful. I’ve practiced yoga at their other locations in Arlington and Mansfield but this one is the largest and most beautiful. It even has a lobby, 2 showers, and 2 changing areas which is very convenient for me to head straight to work afterwards or spend the rest of the day at the shopping centers nearby. I’m so happy they opened a location in Ft. Worth!
