I started being a patient at Fountain Valley Orthotics and Prosthetics (FVOP) as a teenager over 30 yrs ago with Mr Nick Walker, the founder of FVOP, as my original practitioner who has since left behind a legacy of professionalism, compassion and caring. I was lucky enough to have found such attributes again in Mark, a young practitioner at FVOP, yesterday, as he took his time from an extremely busy schedule to fix my broken leg brace without which I couldn’t have walked more than 2 feet, especially when I didn’t even have an appointment. Mark was so courteous and so dedicated in treating me that I’m forever grateful. Thank you so much for your kindness! !Muchas gracias! Merci beaucoup! Grazie mille! Cam on rat nhieu!

My doctor insists on me going to this place for my needs. This office is super busy, unorganized and difficult to work with. My past three visits I was early for my appointment and I still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seen. While their product may be good the service is horrible.

After emailing and calling them about my issue, they took care of it by replacing the uppers in my insoles. I was happy with the prompt service and quick response with fixing my issue. He was helpful and caring in insuring that I was happy with what I got and that my concerns were taken care of.

Where do I start? This place is the worst!
I went there to get my feet «casted» for inserts as I have this painful plantar fasciitis.
The guy that molded my foot was very nice.
He did tell me to expect to wait 2 – 3 weeks for final touches on the inserts. They never contacted me. A month later I called and another guy said they would call me right back when he looked into it. No call back.
Another week went by. My foot is hurting bad! I called to follow up. The lady said she would call me back, she never did.
Another week goes by, I called again and they said the inserts are on «back order» for some reason… A few times in between I went inside to check in and the ladies were so rude when I told them that I’ve been waiting a long time for these inserts. She looked at her calendar and said «it’s only been two weeks». I didn’t get an «I’m sorry for all the confusion or lack of communication»… Yes I know, treatment sucks when you’re on med-​cal. But for christ’s sake, call a girl back!!! I now need insert adjustment but won’t call them because of the bullshit service they give. I’ve worked at Very high end companies before and know how good service should be. I’m very understanding of things happening, and was patient, but I do need follow ups.

Dan Selleck was my Orthotist and he was knowledgeable and professional. I was fitted for a cam boot and he thoroughly went over everything.

Being disabled I have to go to these places quite often. So I’m always thrilled to know there’s a place where I feel welcomed and they genuinely care to help me.
I wear leg braces and recently one of the Velcro straps broke and so I needed to replace it. I called my doctor which referred me to Fountain Valley Orthotics & Prosthetics. Now, the doctor was SUPPOSED to write a prescription for the new straps so I wasn’t charged for it.
I stopped by this place during lunch one day and the receptionist looked in the system and couldn’t find the prescription. I was frantically trying to call my doctor to figure out what happened. The receptionist instead offered to submit the prescription herself to my insurance so I could be rest assured they wouldn’t charge me. This kind of kindness went a long way. They fixed my straps very quickly and I was able to make it back to work on time. The pro-​activeness of the receptionist saved me a HUGE headache and for that I am very grateful.

The Orthotist was not a good listener, and didn’t seem to have much experience. Although he acted like he knew everything about orthotics, he couldn’t share what he knew, and ended up saying, «We will make it however you want.» Ah, he was supposed to be the expert. So we ordered the orthotic and it came back much thicker than we asked for. They re-​made it, as though it was a huge favor to do so, and it began separating into useless layers, ruining a brand new shoe within 6 weeks. They charge more than twice what other labs do; we only went here because our insurance would pay for it, but it did not turn out to be a good deal.

So friendly! The office was busy but they were able to accommodate my mom to have her splints adjusted. Nick was very sweet and patient as he took his time to make mom’s splints feel as comfortable as they can be. My family is very satisfied with our experience.
