Foxy Nail Salon

I reported in November that Jackie and Jimmy sold the salon and the new owners were remodeling. The new salon is open now with new owners and a new name, but the same location. The new shop is Polished Nail Studio, the owners Teresa and Cindy are fantastic. The salon is completely remodeled and beautiful. You can read my review under Polished Nail Studio.

Always a great experience with both Jimmy & Jackie! Does anyone what the new name of the shop is and if they’re still working there?

Does anyone know if Jimmy will be working there with the new owners or if he going to another shop. I was with him for over 12+ years and have traveled all the way from Los Angeles just to get my nails done. Now I don’t know where I can find another perfect spot. I too will struggle to find a replacement.

I stumbled upon this salon in a small strip mall while visiting a friend in the area. Figuring I had enough time to kill before heading home and the fact that I hadn’t had my nails done in Fountain Valley (a city my friends have lovingly dubbed the «nail salon capital of the OC»).
Giirl, I decided to take my chances and get my nails did.
I was greeted by Jimmy, who was with another customer, but Jackie jumped into action and welcomed me with a big smile. I wanted a mani/​pedi.
Compared to other nail salons I have been to, Foxy’s selection of nail polish seemed a bit lacking. I felt there could’ve been a wider variety of colors instead of the shimmery shades of reds, purples, pinks, and whites. –1 star.
Jackie was very pleasant and meticulous. As a product of that, the mani/​pedi session took about 1 hr and 20 minutes. My feet were baby smooth with all my little piggies painted. The manicure was very nice as expected.
HOWEVER, unlike what I’ve experienced at other nail salons, my manicure was not done while I was seated in the massage chair having my toes done. After my pedicure was finished, I had to walk barefoot to have my manicure done at the table across from the chair. I am a huge germophobe, and I thought that was pretty disgusting. –1 star.
I understand that I don’t know the dynamics of what the salon would be like on a busy day. Maybe it’s a slow day and they’re short-​staffed and couldn’t do my hands and feet at the same time. Who knows? Jackie was understanding and placed a towel under my bare feet. Eeew, germs!
All in all, SWEET deal. $ 26 for a regular mani/​pedi. I really liked that Jackie had me pay before she painted my fingernails just so I wouldn’t have to risk smudging the polish while reaching into my wallet. That’s smart THINKING AHEAD. Freaking awesome, I must say. Not a lot of nail salons think about that.
In true Lena fashion, I smudged the polish after I left the salon. And life goes on. Sigh.

I love Jimmy and Jackie!!! they are the best. Jimmy does my nails and the little sign he has that says «Best manicurist hands down» is 100% true. And don’t even get me started on their schedule, i swear they are both always so busy and they still make time for me when i call them 3 hours before i need to come in for an emergency fill. Jackie is amazing at doing pedicures and EYE BROWS i will not let anyone in this world touch my eye brows except for her ever again. They are genuinely great people. i never see any other workers in there and i think its because those two are the best around.

Been here twice, first time i got uv gels by jimmy i love them! And today i had a pedicure by his wife jackie she did a great job as well. I came here because Unilocal had good reviews :-) place is clean and owners r super nice they def take their time! Only downside they only take cash or checks

This place is great. I’ve lived on the other side of Mile Square Park for 2 years and had no idea it was even here. The thing that makes this place so great is the quality of the service. The lady and gentleman that run this place are so sweet. They take their time and they are SO gentle. They don’t up-​sell which I love. If you can, come during the week in the afternoon. You may have to wait a few minutes but it isn’t busy. I will definitely be back.
Only downside is they don’t take credit cards! I found our the hard way. Thank heaven for 7 – 11?

I don’t know why I would ever go anywhere else. I have moved to Costa Mesa and tried places closer by but always regret it. Jimmy and Jackie are amazing at what they do! I won’t let anyone else near my eyebrows either. My nails always last and are always perfect. They are the nicest people and they are conscious about talking in English so you never feel like they are talking poorly about you. Not that I think either would ever say anything bad about anyone. They even advised me against getting acrylics again because I bite my nails a lot. A nail salon advising you against getting pricey acrylics that requires more frequent visits for the sake of my nails health and wallet??? They are hands down the best.

They did a great job and were very professional

I have been here twice, and i LOVE this place! the first time i wentbi decided to get the uv gel nails, jimmy did my nails and they were awesome! He took his time and made small talk with me which was great! His wife jackie is super sweet too, she did my pedicure the second time i went and she did an awesome job as well. As an esthetician, its important to go to a olace where you know its clean! This will be my salon from now on. Only down side… they dont take cards. But iys very worth it! They have essie and opi nail polishes!

I LOVE this place! as previous Unilocalers commented, the owners jimmy and jacki are extremely sweet. My nails always look perfect before I leave the salon. I learned of this salon about a year ago and have been coming back ever since. The prices are reasonable and they just started doing gel nails, which last for weeks.
No gossiping behind your back in foreign languages, and the pedicures do not hurt like in most salons. Jackie is very gentle and does not dig into your skin, she really pays attention to the health and look of your nails.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Also, make sure you call to make an appointment time, as they are busy at times.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The owners, Jimmy and Jackie, are the nicest, most polite people ever. They take their time and do an excellent job. I have been going to Jimmy for about 4 years now, and I refuse to go to ANYONE else. Except for his wife Jackie of course, who also does nail art and waxing. They are located in a parking lot that isn’t busy, so parking is not a problem at all. The salon is very clean with tons of new magazines, and a big flat screen t.v. I highly recommend both of them, but definitely call and make an appointment because they do get busy.

I just moved to Fountain Valley and needed to find a good nail salon. I found that and more. They are super friendly and like to take their time. I am beyond picky when it comes to getting my nails done and this was the first place I didn’t have to stop the person doing my nails every five seconds to fix my nails. I left happy with the work she did. I definitely recommend this place.

I disagree with the first reviewer. I am not hating. just giving my experience. The lady there, her name escapes me now. is so friendly and talks with you about current events and is genuinely interested in you. She is always there and always busy so make an appointment. It is worth it because trust me there are no other good nail places in fountain valley. I searched high and low when i moved here going place to place and this is the only one that i can actually go 2 to 3 weeks before a fill

there are way to fast– every time i have been there it has NOT been a relaxing expierence for me. They mess up a lot becasue they rush. I always get bubbles in my nails and they over price. so i wouldnt necessarily tell my friends about this place.
