Local Splash

Absolute waste of money. I wish I did my research more thoroughly before agreeing to sign on with this company. Local Splash, I learned, even has a site stating that the negative reviews on Unilocal are coming from competitors. Well, I’m a small business owner and I’m sorry to say this company almost feels like a scam. I will say this, I had a very responsive agent that initially emailed me but most of my concerns after that were handled by random agents. They were nice enough but if I’m reviewing based on the intended outcome of Local Solash’s claims, it is an utter fail. Please do not waste your money.

Unilocal removed my review of this company, saying it did not describe a first hand customer experience. While I’ve never used the services of this company, I have dealt with them personally and will describe my experience in this review.
They have called me on more than one occasion (can’t remember how many times) offering to put my website on the front page of Google. When they call, they always try to mislead me and make it sound like they are Google when they are not. Their sales people are very pushy and sometimes just plain rude. They refuse to take no for an answer. Only way to get rid of them is to just hang up the phone. They try to make it sound like I don’t know how to run a business if I don’t use their services. Only reason I know they’re not Google is because Google never cold calls people, Google says it’s not possible to be placed on the front page of their website, and they warn against doing business with companies like this.
So while I don’t have experience with this company as a customer, I’ve had enough experience being cold called by them to know that this is probably a scam and I would strongly recommend that any small business owner stay away from them. Reputable businesses don’t use deceitful and manipulative sales tactics

I have been using Local Splash for 9 months. I have had an excellent experience with Local Splash. Because of the SEO service that Local Splash offers, my small massage business comes up in local searches on the very first page by keywords. It took about 6 weeks for me to start to see steady build in clientele. I was so impressed with Local Splash I referred a friend of mine who owns a plumbing business to them.
Local Splash really does stand behind what they say. If at any time after the 6 weeks you do not show up on the first page of keyword searches, they will credit your account for the month. I will continue to use this company. I highly recommend them for growing your business.

I own a small plumbing service company. I got a call from local splash saying they could optimize my google bing and yahoo search engine results. I decide to try them. They told me it would take 4 – 6 weeks to get everything rolling. I called right before they were to bill me for the 3^rd time which would have made it 8 weeks. When I called they insisted it was only 5 weeks mind you now I paid twice already which is monthly billing. They told me they would give me a credit for August… I said no thank you I read your reviews please close my account. The women on the phone got really nasty and refused to provide me with my confirmation email saying that the account was closed. If they attempt to charge me again I will go after them for fraud. They got me for 400 dollars of my money. Don’t give them any of yours.

I would have given them a zero, but that isn’t possible.
I signed up with them March 2014. They charged me $ 600.00 for the first three months in advance. I was promised to be on the first page of google within 90 days. It would probably be sooner I was told. If for any reason I was not on the first page in 90 days, they would not charge me until I was.
June 21 014. My company is not on the first page of google. They charged my card for $ 179.00 anyway. When I called to complain, and get a refund. They told me they do not give refunds. They were sorry They charged me, but apparently I was suppose to contact them not to be charged if I was not on the first page!
I remembered to call for July. No charge.
August my bank reissued new credit cards. I did not update Local Splash. They were very unhappy with me because my card did not work. Still not on the first page.
From then on I would get emails of no charge.
Finally today, I get a call. They are stopping my account. They have had no success and are freeing me to go with someone else. I asked about a refund. Not for the whole amount. I went in with my eyes open and wrote off the $ 600.00. What I want is the $ 179.00 that should never have been taken.
They do not refund money over a year ago.

Don’t spend a dime on them. They didn’t improve my site at all. I requested cancelation and they continued to charge to my credit card. Don’t give them any information.

Well, the one positive that has come out of this experience — from now on I will ALWAYS Unilocal a company that calls my business offering their services.
Local Splash claims to be a performance based company, in which, if you are not happy with their service after 6 weeks, they will refund your money. The only problem is, they never let you talk to the same person twice, and now they claim they do not have on record that anyone said anything about a money back guarantee. Complete and total fraud of a company.
I have given them $ 398 and have received nothing. No services were rendered and the service was absolutely not as advertised. Every time I called, the representative admitted seeing nothing had been done to my account, and offered to not charge me for the upcoming month. After three months of this I dug a little deeper into the company (which I should have done in the first place) and discovered that, after 16 1-​star reviews on Unilocal,they «CLOSED» the company, only to open up another company under same name (different address), which has collected an additional 139 1-​star reviews (as of 5÷19÷15).
Next time I will use Unilocal before giving any «marketing company» money. However, that does not exhonorate Local Splash from taking advantage of small businesses and STEALING money. I canceled my account after 4 months when I realized they were never going to render and services, they were only waiting for me to forget to call in one month so they could STEAL another $ 199 from me.
Please be aware this is 100% organized fraud.

I’ve been using Local Splash for over 5yrs. Happy customer from the get go. If you have a small business and need SEO help I encourage you to check them out.

NEVER NEVER NEVER work with them. The website they created is just awful. Called them in 2 days after the website was published and never got refund of my money. They mislead me with the google map positions. Awful experience.

The worst experience you might have with local splash, i paid for 6 months in advance 600 $ to get my business name at the top in the first page as they promised before they got paid but my name never showed up, and they said to me that i have to wait the verification letter from, it took almost 2 months for that letter and finally the verification code didn’t work, they kept calling me until i got fed up with all that and i gave them 3 more chances to have the problem solved or i want my money back and of course nothing solved and they kept pushing me forward every time with a different excuse and i tried to refund my money and they offered me 56 $ out of 600 $
Are you serious??? what did you do to deduct the other part of the amount.
I wish i could put 0 star because they deserve nothing customer care is super bad they make everything is easy for you until they get paid then good luck you have to wait and wait and expect a lot of different naïve excuses.
Save your money and save your time talking to local splash.

They failed in serving the customer and they didn’t provide me with any service and they kept the money too.

I own a small events service company in the Chicago area, and received a call from Local Splash with regards to improving my websites visibility on Google, Bing and Yahoo search engines.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!
I signed up with them in beginning of November of 2014, and after a in depth description of their services, I thought I would give it a try. They assured me they could get my business on the front page of the top rated search engines between 4 and 6 weeks. They billed me for two months Nov & Dec at $ 199/​mo. I called to find out the status in the beginning of January, and they said it would be another 3 – 4 weeks as it sometime takes longer to push though with the key words, they proceeded to give me service credits for January. By the time it hit February, I searched for my business name, keywords, anything related to my business and couldn’t find it. I called them up and cancelled my services. They proceeded to offer me more service credits for Feb, Mar or until I see progress, but I denied that as I was fed up with the BS.
The customer service was nice, until I asked for my money back $ 398, as they never delivered what I was promised. I escalated my request to the most high up Manager, and she was an absolute (B*@&#). She was very rude, and did not do anything. She refused to give me back my money.
I now have talked to my Credit Card company and am fighting them that way… which I’ll most likely win.
If you are trying to optimize your companies visibility, do not use Local Splash. They take your money and do not do anything.

Got a call from them claiming that they are gonna put my business on first page of Google, bing, yahoo. When asked them to email me more info, the pressure sale became annoying and they got upset that I insisted to know more about them. Check them out on Unilocal during the call and guess what?! Horrible reviews. Told her about it, and she got pissed, saying that with my attitude she won’t do business, haha. I hung up and two days later got another call from a guy, same pitch and attitude, same result… Eventually, they send me info about them, but who cares?!

Very bad experience no clue why I joined worst company you can advertise with don’t waist your time or money.

They are only getting one star because it won’t let me do zero. Shady company. Do not use. Tell you all of these amazing things they can do for your company and don’t follow through. When you ask for your money back, they are unwilling and claim they never told you these amazing things. Do not use them!!!

WARNING!!! LOCAL SPLASH USES UNETHICAL SALES PRACTICES TO ACQUIRE CUSTOMERS!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED BY CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
I received a telephone call in May from Local Splash stating that a spot had become available on the front pages of Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The sales person explained that they could get me on the front pages of those sites for only $ 450 and it would cover 3 months of service. AFTER paying the $ 450 I was told that it would take up to 6 weeks for my website to show up on the front page. By July I was furious and wanted to cancel my account and get a full refund. The customer service representative refunded $ 150 of my $ 450 and practically pleaded with me to stay with the company. I called Local Splash in October and November to take advantage of their Local Splash guarantee. I received an email yesterday that the company tried to take a payment of $ 199.00 but the charge did not go through. I called Local Splash and asked for the Local Splash guarantee and was told that because I did not call three (3) days prior to the billing cycle that the guarantee could not be applied to my account. I would have to bring my account «current» before it could be applied. ARE THESE PEOPLE CRAZY!!! I’M CALLING BECAUSE THEY HAVEN’T DONE WHAT I PAID FOR AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY THEM SO THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO DO NOTHING???

There is no such thing as spots becoming available on the front pages of search engine websites. SEO is something that is built over time. There are very complicated algorithms that are at work for businesses to appear on the front pages of search engine sites. Local Splash knows this. However, instead of being honest about it, lowering the price and providing potential customers with a very transparent look at SEO, they LIE!!!

We just received a call from a Local Splash sales rep, as he was going into his sales pitch I start a quick google search for «local splash» & low and behold…
Ironically the sales rep began his pitch by asking me if I knew our business had great reviews on Unilocal,I laughed and said yes of course. I let him gone on a moment more as I read other Unilocal reviews of Local Splash & formed my no sale thoughts. After taking a break in the pitch to come up for air I told him we were not interested & thanks for calling. Which lead into hold on wait one last ditch effort & another no thanks from me, he followed with a final «Why are you not interested?» my only reply was «Did you know your company had online reviews?»

ZERO STARS. HORRIBLE. Just plain horrible. They continued to make mistakes, and I was constantly calling them to get things corrected and done! All sorts of promises but they cannot deliver in a timely manner IF at all! I signed up to save time but if I consistently have to call all the time and babysit them to get things done then I’ll just do it myself!
I should have done more research before jumping in like I usually do after someone cold-​calls me, but thought you couldn’t really screw up SEO — I kick myself for the money wasted and no gain.
I cancelled the first time after 2 – 3 months and had another sales rep call me to ask why I cancelled, after explaining their incompetence, he assured me that he would personally take over my account and offered to lower my monthly payment rate to come back. I would give them one more try — then moments later he had to get off the phone because a larger (probably more important $$$) account was calling for him — way to make a gal feel special.
Less than a month later I canceled and never looked back. Everything they «did» for me, I could have easily done myself except saved time and money.
It’s a scam. Save your money and hire a REAL web consultant if you’re still struggling with this.

I’m lucky I didn’t spend much. I got out after only 2 – 3 months I’m a hairdresser so I Sought them out to market color services because I already have a ripe large clientele of men’s clients. Instead they spent a week designing my site marketing me as a MENS CUT specialist. Maybe the cheeky customer service agent who «interviewed» me about my goals for the business merely wrote bullet points down and forgot the entire conversation. If not there was no excuse for this heinous mistake. Men’s cuts are the least money making service in my industry and it’s what I was trying to get away from. Also the website looked like my 10 year old son made it. One star because it was so easy to drop out. Almost seemed to make my case manager happy because then she didn’t have to make the numerous edits to my marketing materials as was my obvious request!

There is a reason there are SO many 1 star reviews and that is because of Fraud and misrepresentation. They have am aggressive and very skilled sales team who will promise you everything under the moon and even lie about the estimated timeline. They take a «non refundable» $ 200 payment at sign up and expect that they can keep it without having done a shred of work after 6 weeks.
I am starting my lawsuit with them this week so if anyone else wants their $ 200 back that has fraudulently stolen from them, please contact me and we can file a joint suit. This company will go down and have shitty staff to blame.
Why oh why did I let them convince me? Scam artists thats why!
