So I went in for AYCE lunch on the weekend, but they charged me dinner prices so I assume the price is only for M-F weekday lunch, but am not sure. The food itself is… well it was just okay. I had a good variety of the items from here, and none of them really stood out or made me say«Wow!». The place was more of a «decent value» place rather than a «decent taste» place. I was able to try and eat a wide variety of different appetizers and items I generally like, without having to pay for each individual dish, and it did hit a few cravings and spots, but overall it didn’t really give me that delicious joy when I have good food. It was just not good in my opinion.

Price is fair, happy hour deal is great! All in all, I pretty much tried all their food and they are all good to decent. I recommend their ramen. They are not the best ramen but still decent. I like this place because it’s not crowded at all so service is quick and friendly. I’ve been here many times and will definitely come back.

Great food. Great value. Definitely a hidden gem in Fountain Valley. The food is delicious. Hawaiian poke bowl, crunch roll, tofu, and the tonkatsu ramen are my recommendations. In fact I think my party of three had at least 6 or 7 poke bowls. Service was on point as well. Sota was very attentive. Overall, highly recommended.

Our family of 6 ate here for lunch on a Saturday. It was not busy at all. It was good food. Price was ok. The only thing that was bad is the amount of time between rolls. We waited for about 10 minutes for a crunchy roll, then another 10 for another roll. For 6 of us eating it took quite a while. Other than that, it was good. the miso ramen was Amazing

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have more reviews because the food is fantastic. I can’t speak for the rolls per se but everything else is amazing. I will add more details and pictures later. Definitely try this place out!

This place is really bad. We decided to come here because it had really good reviews being new and just right down the street from where we live. We ordered the seaweed salad and it came with a huge bowl of green salad and a tiny bit of seaweed. If I had wanted a green salad I’d order a green salad but I wanted seaweed which I barely got any of. The edges of the salad were also turning black bc it’s wilting. When I pointed it out to the waitress she just said«oh, it’s the dressing.» No, it’s not dressing. The ika yaki was not even grilled like it should be. It was white and mushy. We tried a roll and the fish is definitely not fresh! The simmered pork was good but had so much fat which we couldn’t finish so we just left it there and the waitress wouldn’t take it away until I told her it’s nothing but fat left which I was not about to force myself to finish. Another good thing was probably the ramen which you can get in a half size and taste different flavors. I’d skip.

Whoa was this a bad experience. After hearing rave reviews from his coworkers hubby took the family here for lunch. There was one very cranky waitress, the service was horrible. She refilled the kids sodas with water. The food took for ever. We watched other patrons ask repeatedly for service and be ignored. She was very solicitous of the Asian customers and ignored the white people. The food was mostly mediocre. The Hawaiian poke salad was decent as was the Gyoza but the fish was a little less than freshy fresh. I would rather pay $ 14 each for a stellar roll a a good sushi place than $ 16 for poor all you can eat. We will never go there again.

If you a hungry dude on a shoe-string budget looking for all you can eat, this is the place for you! The $ 12.99 lunch deal is good if you can eat lots, and really a good price in general for AYCE sushi. If you’re just wanting good sushi and don’t eat particularly much, maybe not. I was going to eat at a different store in the plaza and saw this new place pop up. Decided to try something new and wasn’t disappointed, but also wasn’t impressed. The place has cute Japanese décor with a relatively friendly staff. There’s a menu for AYCE and you just order off how many of each dish you want. By having the food made to order, it keeps it fresher. I recommend ordering less and then adding more to your order if you’re hungry. They have a few basic rolls, but quite a lot of side dishes like poke bowl, tofu, ramen, fried rices, teriyaki, etc. They are upfront about their food/leftover policy, so no points off that. If you have a significant amount of leftovers, they will add a $ 5 charge, possibly per plate or just one charge, depending on the amount of food. The reasons I’m okay with this is 1) they are straightforward with the policy. No sneaky after charge without telling you 2) Practical. That way the small business doesn’t have to suffer from people who are too willing to waste food. Good thing is they do offer half portions on the rice and ramen, so you can try some without having worry about finishing a large portion. The quality of food is all right, but it’s the portions that are the real kicker. The poke bowl has just a few pieces of fish. The fish didn’t seem as fresh as it could be, but wasn’t bad. Just a little limp. The tuna and salmon were cut into very very small cubes. They tried to compensate by adding artificial crab, seaweed, and avocado. While usually I would consider that cluttering up my poke, I didn’t mind it this time. All in all the poke bowl was mediocre, but not bad by any stretch. The Salmon Avocado roll was surprisingly good. I was expecting very small portion of fish and too much rice, but what I received was a decently large portion of fish and avocado. The rice was nice and firm, and not too much. A simple roll, but nicely done considering it’s AYCE. The Gyoza was not bad either. Crispy without being hard, and nice texture. Five pieces, but not much meat in it. The Shrimp Tempera was crispy, but the batter was sub par. Not flaky and light, but clung too the fish and heavy. The shrimp itself was too thin and not meaty. Eel bowl had four small pieces of eel on a bed of rice. Although eel was very small portion, it was soft and warm. Ramen tonkotsu had firm noodles that are typical of ramen. Meat was nice and lean, but the broth was not very strong or flavorful. Tofu salad was literally greens with tofu and sauce. Was expecting something more like marinated tofu but that’s my fault. It was four pieces of tofu. There was a little too much sauce that drenched the salad. I like that this place is a small business that really doesn’t do too bad for AYCE quality. However, it’s inevitable for quality to go down when the food is AYCE. That’s partially the reason why I tend avoid such places, but this restaurant isn’t too bad. I don’t eat too much anyways, so I couldn’t get my money’s worth. Would recommend for people who are ready to eat and want to do so relatively cheaply! The quality isn’t bad, but I like to go to restaurants where quality is first(basically not all you can eat). This place has four-five star quality depending on the type of person you are(more quantity over mediocre quality).

Actual sushi? Go somewhere else. Came here wanting AYCE sushi — looked at the menu, and decided that what they offer(the actual sushi selection was pitiful, with only your very basic rolls) and wasn’t worth the 16 dollars.(if you want sashimi, it’s more). But we were here, so we decided to try it anyway and ordered a salmon avocado roll, squid, and eel bowl. Turns out that they love rice. As in put so much rice that you can’t taste anything. The eel(3 pieces for 5 dollars) had me spitting out pieces of bone. Which, as any sushi eater will tell you, should be soft enough to swallow. The rolls were disgusting — I couldn’t taste the salmon or avocado. And the squid was so tiny — but at least they were cooked. If you’re an actual sushi fan — and I mean you come here to eat rolls and sashimi, not ramen for AYCE — this place is not worth it. Supermarkets sell better rolls.

came in with a big party of 12(made a reservation ahead of time but it took a couple tries to get them on the phone. And don’t bother leaving a message bc they won’t return your call) and we all agreed to do the basic AYCE and it was not disappointing! The best items were probably the small dishes, like the wasabi octopus(YUM), takoyaki, gyoza, etc. the rolls were forgettable, and even detrimental since they took up valuable AYCE space(skip those) but the ramen is pretty good and they let you order half sizes, except for the zaru ramen which comes with 3 piles of noodles and 3 different sauces. The service was good as the waiters were easy to flag down, and the speed that the dishes came out was reasonable. I’d have no problem recommending this place. Great value if you’re interested in trying a bunch of things on the menu!

Came across this place by accident. We were planning on eating next door at a pizza joint, saw an AYCE sign and it happened to be Japanese food so SCORE! Well, sort of i guess. While the appetizers, the rice dishes where flavorful and delicious, dont plan on eating sushi here. We ordered the salmon, tuna, crunch roll and spicy tuna. All the sushi tasted the same. I could not differentiate one from the other. It lacked flavor and was made with too much rice. The shio ramen was just ok. The broth had some flavor but failed to deliver. You get a little flavor on your tongue then its… gone watered down. The service was great. But i cant really rate it was just us and another family so they were on par. Bottom line… i would come here for appetizers and drinks. I would not come if you are expecting good sushi.

We use to eat here all the time when it was Yotaro. Same owner, workers and mostly the same menu, but now it’s an AYCE restaurant. My favorites are the Tonkatsu Ramen, Momoya fried rice, chicken curry, poke salad. I would tend to stay away from their sushi… Rice is way to thick. Overall, very solid for an AYCE. The quality of food is superior to other more expensive AYCE Japanese restaurant. Service is also always great.

I know this place just opened & they’re getting their kinks out. I wouldn’t give them another chance even if they got themselves together. The food is meh. Nothing special. The sushi actually looked like the came packages from a grocery store. The«California» filling of the dragon roll is literally just a stick of imitation crab. The sushi rice is nice, sticky, & tasty but the portion ratio to fish is terrible. There was so much rice. The 1 plus side to this place is their AYCE menu is HUGE for $ 15.99. Includes ramen, bunch of side dishes, & only 8 – 10 rolls(maybe even less). For $ 25 you can have everything on the AYCE& sashimi. You have the option to buy individual items also. You could add an all you can drink for $ 13? Or $ 15? I don’t exactly remember the price for that. The shiseido peppers & weenies were the best thing on the menu in my opinion. If you’re looking for super cheap sushi & other AYCE items that do not include raw items or rolls this is the go to place. Other than that go some where else. The service is less than ok. I get they’re just opening but the servers did not know a lot of answers to our questions. They stood around most of the time. I held my hand up for a good 5 mins for some one to acknowledge me so I could ask for the check & my arm nearly went numb before some one saw me. I’m a server myself & I know my etiquettes at a restaurant. They had no blind spots & we’re not busy whatsoever to not see me. When he finally walked over he said«oh I thought you were stretching… Ha ha ha…» Um. Ok? Will not return.

Food is not bad, but prepare to finish your plate clean. Like super clean. We have rice(no more curry sauce to eat with) and some greens left from the salad(ordered seaweed salad, came with a little bit of seaweed and a big full bowl of greens.) We got charged $ 5 for leftovers. I mean price your price right, if you want to price it cheap and do ayce, don’t be afraid of your customers ordering. And charge them extra for scrapes? We would have made this our go to place for Japanese food, but not after this kind of service. :( (They didn’t tell us that we will be charged for it, it was just on the check, the server told my friend she had too many greens left, so she cleaned it, I thought our scrapes were fine, but guess not)

Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Food: 5⁄5 Server: 5⁄5 I heard from my sister of a new Japanese that is recently open within the city. I decided to take her advice and try it out. Came in around 5pm when they open for business and it was empty when my group walk in. They seated us and ask us, immediately, what we like to drink. After they brought us the drink, the server took our first order. We order: Crunch roll, Dragon Roll, Gyoza, and other orders that I kinda forgot. :) The food came out moderately while we could chitchat. The food was great based on the price. Oh, I forgot to mention, the price is $ 15.99 and its AYCE! Decent price for a Japanese AYCE place. The CONS for this place: Once the rest of the table of the restaurant filled up; your food order could be delay a bit because of the mass food ticket receiving from the back of the house. In my opinion, this place is good for a small group to hangout and enjoy dinner. Best to arrive early and avoid rush hour for dinner.

Came here the other day looking for Yotaro ramen but saw it had been replaced! Momoya is an all you can eat buffet or you can order ala carte. You have 3 options when dining at Momoya: 1. All you Can Eat 15.99 2. All You Can Eat PLUS(sashimi is available to order) 25.99 3. Order by item, Ala carte I went for option one and came right when they opened for dinner which was 5pm. The ambiance is very similar to Yotaro ramen as before with a few touch ups in décor I had the tonkotsu shoyu ramen, takoyaki and gyoza. They were all great however if you were to do the AYCE option I’d highly recommend coming in with at least a group of 4 or more, that way you can try out more items on the menu. Also, if you don’t feel like going for a whole bowl of ramen since you’re doing the AYCE option, you can request to do a half order of ramen. Also, the AYCE isn’t your traditional ayce where you go up to the buffet line. Momoya is AYCE but you just order from your server. Unlimited gyoza? unlimited anything you want! Service was great, the server walked me through the new menu and options. will be back Oh and they have AYCD aka ALLYOUCANDRINK I’ll definitely be back but with a larger group
