My itchy scalp has decreased tremendously, my shine and softness has increased tremendously, my length continues to grow i’m now in the middle of my back near my butt from right below shoulders with breakage. Star saved my hair! I’ve only been going to her since July 2015 and now it’s December 2015 and my hair and edges are coming back beautifully. I was putting too many chemicals in and left the place I was going to for Star. She’s teaching me how to go natural and how to bring my edges especially back to life. She’s so knowledgeable and really cares about the well being of her clients. She now has a full shop in the Bronx and it’s beautiful and even though I live in Harlem it’s worth the travel. I am one of those natural look customers and Starr Charly At Getem Gurlz knows exactly what I like. Fuller natural looking fro that make people asked me if its my hair or where I had it done… I seldom admit that I have a few pieces ad in because it looks that great… I sometimes start off with it black and have her dye it in different shades as I go along… The beauty about this hair is I can remove it and have her do it over and over and it still remain looking good even after a year… I would not consider going to anyone else, because it looks great and it last a longggggggggg time… I highly recommend… Oh and when you go there call her when you get to the building because some of the hair braiders will try get you in their shop pretending to be her but don’t be fooled; there’s only one Starr and she knows exactly what works for you. She also helped me to grow my natural hair which was damage… She is the First hair dresser I experience who gives you advice on how to grow your own hair…

The hair shop is located on the second floor, 35 w 125^th street. Once you get there be careful of the other braiding hair shops, the other stylists will lie to you and say «they are star» or «she is not in room#9» ignore everything they say and walk to room #9 a big blue door that is covered by a blue gate.

I came for crochet braids and sent her a picture of what I wanted. I came in with damaged hair and a tender scalp. She was willing to work on my head. It was a 12 hour process but I have the look I want and I get stopped in the street all the time and complimented which means a lot in a city like NYC. And it’s only $ 10 Marley hair that I bought from her!
She even offered me wine which helped the time go faster and my tender head lol. The shop is small but cozy and it seems like she only takes one client at a time which is great if you have somewhere to go. She saved my look for the summer, even had some fashion people stop me at governors ball 2015 to take pictures of the hair!
