David M. Emanuel, DMD – Framingham Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr Emmanuel is FANTASTIC! I couldn’t put into words how much I actually enjoy going to him. I’ve had several teeth removed and he has always made me feel calm and comfortable and I’ve never had any issues with the teeth that have come out. I have a very hard time at the dentist and actually faint. I’ve never had an issue going here. His assistants are great too! They always are very helpful and nice to me I couldn’t complain about anything. He never ever makes you feel bad or lectures you on your teeth issues he tells you very nicely and calmly how it is and what to expect. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! He’s an angel

If I could, I would give negative rating.
Did not have a problem with the doctor. But, the staff is extremely rude. Can’t stress enough. Never written a negative review about anything and this is my first one.
The way staff treated their patients should be exposed. I feel responsible to alert others and hence writing this review. Never interacted with such poor attitude, unprofessional, people. If I remember the name correctly it was Karen who is the rudest of the rude.
Don’t recommend at all.

I was referred to Dr. Emanuel for extraction on two separate occasions. I suffer from PTSD and am petrified of procedures. He and his staff were accommodating, concerned, and so gentle that I would not hesitate to sit in his chair again. His practice is absolutely amazing, and he is a standout in an otherwise uncaring and fast-​paced, conveyor belt medicine world

My appt was canceled and I am not going to reschedule.
Getting ready for braces, my Orthodontist suggested I go to this office to have 4 teeth removed.
I was told to expect an appt for a consult and then another appt for the actual procedure.
I called and they made me only one appt. I asked about the charges but I never got a hard quote or any paperwork in the mail. I usually get confirmation calls on my cell phone but they left it on my house phone so I didn’t get it.
From now on I will request doctor’s office contact me via cell. I am always on the go and in an out. I keep a house phone so the kids can call 911 for emergencies. Other than that I could do without it.
Checking in at the desk they asked for my dental card. I only have one card for BCBS of MA and the company does not issues two. All of our dental charges are billed to the same number.
Another person came out and asked again for my medical card and argued with me that I didn’t have insurance and said she was going to call right away. She did call and found we do have insurance and the group number was correct.
I was brought to a procedure room where they hooked me up to a variety of machines.
They asked if I had anything to eat or drink and I told them yes about a ¼ of water over the last 4 hours. She then showed me a cup and asked me how much water I had drank. Again, I said about a ¼ cup.
They would need to consult with the doctor.
After talking with the doctor they told me they could not do the procedure, took off all the wires and asked me to leave.
I never met the doctor. He didn’t take the time to come out and meet me or make his own evaluation or discuss alternatives.
I’ve had two surgeries before and have been allowed small amounts of water and have done extremely well.
I realize the ramifications and safety issues and would obviously not want to jeopardize my own health so I completely understand the guidelines.
What I found disappointing was the overall poor attitude throughout the office.
They decided it was done and I should go. The end.
I went to the front desk to get my xray and to confirm they would not be billing my insurance or charging my credit card.
The office manager was surprised and a told me they could still do the procedure and they could discuss the various options.
Interesting they didn’t offer any suggestions when I was still sitting in the chair.
No thank you. I will find another doctor.
Lessons learned on my end: I need to follow up myself. Get a detailed quote and ask to meet the doctor. Request confirmation calls go to my cell phone. Don’t drink ANY water 8 hours before a procedure.
On there part: Be a little more friendly. Meet and talk to their patients. Explain the options and procedures.
My daughter had her teeth out at Dr. Paul Kuo’s office. What an amazing doctor and staff. Our experience there from the moment we stepped in was professional, pleasant, easy and helpful. Not like this at all. I should have gone back there to begin with.

Never heard of bait and switch by a doctor before so this is a first. I was quoted $ 300.00 per tooth for surgical extraction. I get there today and they are $ 400.00. I asked why they went up and was told that they have always been that amount. I told the lady that what I was quoted and she said that was a mistake. However when I was there last week for the consult, I was told it would be out of pocket $ 120.00 — $ 130.00 but today it was $ 160.00 someone is lying. Also I asked about credit cards they last week told me they did not take credit cards or checks but when I went back to look at my notes I was told they took cash credit cards checks etc. again this is a small office, if the few people there cannot get their act together it is a problem. The doctor was nice enough as far as dentists go. Nothing special. Last week I for the consult he told me I had a loose tooth. I had to tell him it was broken. He just looked at me. Go figure. Well I am glad this is done, I will never ever return.

As a homecare nurse, I accompanied a patient of mine to Dr David Emmanuel for an extraction of an abscessed molar. My patient had been referred to him from another dentist, and as a result she became very anxious to be going to someone unfamiliar. After the procedure she couldn’t stop saying enough positive comments about Dr Emmanuel. She was placed on antibiotics and Dr Emmanuel saw her multiple times as the abscess was taking longer than usual to be resolved. He did not charge her for any of the follow-​up examinations or x-​rays and made sure that she was completely infection free.
I was impressed with not only how professional Dr Emmanuel presented himself, but also with his thoroughness and gentle, caring demeanor … a rare find in today’s competitive market.

Dr. Emanuel seems great, as were Jennifer at the front desk and Elena (a technician), BUT the office staff that Dr. Emanuel has working for him are 2 of the most miserable people I’ve ever had the displeasure of being exposed to. From the zombie-​like 60-​ish year old tech handing Dr. Emanuel his tools to the two rude and nasty women at check-​out, I was AMAZED at how stark a contrast there was between Dr. Emanuel’s obvious comfort and caring, and the apathetic misery that some of his help seem to be stuck in.
What a shame. I really liked Dr. Emanuel, but those 3 women made my experience so uncomfortable that I’ll never be back.
If you hate your job that much, find one you enjoy. Please. I felt like I was about to have a decent experience with oral surgery.
