Delaney and Sons Home Improvements

My experience is very similar to the one written above. Jim Delaney came through our neighborhood last summer stating he would give us a good deal on a driveway repair because he was in the neighborhood. He must have received over 12 customers in our neighborhood in a week. His trucks were here Morning till night ripping up driveways and installing new ones. Now a year later the asphalt on my driveway is loosening in areas. I called Jim in April and he said that he would Come over and look at it and repair it no problem. He never showed up and has not returned any of my phone calls or emails and I have made many! I have never written on Unilocal and I hate giving negative reviews, BUT potential customers need to know! I would not use them, I wish I had not based my decision on price alone and I should have done more research and asked for references. Jim needs to know that he cannot run his business much longer if he continues to scam his customers. All he needs to do is fix my driveway as he stated he would, and I will remove this post and all will be forgiven. If not, my opinion stays.

This company did several jobs in my development this summer and appeared to be kind and hard working people. The price was fair and because they were doing jobs in my area said that they would charge half the cost since they’re already here and no need to shuttle equipment. We acted immediately and hired them to repave our driveway and fix our brick walkway (which was very damaged from years of neglect.) I was very concerned over the driveway since in the past we always had a pool of water in the center. Jim (owner) assured me that would never happen again when he finished. What he failed to tell me was that he pitched the driveway at an angle that now the water runs into my garage (not exactly what I had in mind). I have called this company more than 20 times since August and Jim came back to my house stating, «yes I see the problem, we will be back to fix it…» I never heard from him again and was told he left for Ireland. Now I dealt with James (son) who was very nice came out to the house. Admitted there was a definite problem, saw the pool of water in my garage and said I will certainly be back on Monday to fix this. Needless to say Monday came and went and no show… I called and was told, «Oh no I meant next Monday.» Sure enough next Monday came and went and no show… I called again and spoke to Michael this time who told me that James is now in Ireland. Michael asked me to call him back in 30 minutes which I promptly did, but he never answered the phone. Since that time, I have called repeatedly and no one answers and nobody returns my phone call. This has been going on since August and it is now January.
On a side note when Jim initially finished this job (BTW he came on a day that we were not expecting him) but we said oh well and rolled with it… He wanted payment in cash ONLY. Something that was not talked about ahead of time. I handed him the agreed upon amount and asked for a receipt. He then gave me a huge run around saying he just ran out of them, I will drop one off in your mailbox tomorrow etc. I was not happy with this and pushed him on it and I kept getting the same run around. To this day, I still never received a receipt from this company which I asked for several times.
I truly hate giving negative feedback and will gladly remove this post if my job ever gets completed.

Will never hire a company who is constantly parking their business vehicle in the handicap parking at our apartment complex.

Jim and his crew just finished a large project for us including two staircases, a beautiful walkway, two retaining walls and a large flowerbed. The masonry work looks wonderful and adds beauty to our home. We also had them pave our driveway (asphalt) and include minor repairs we found as work progressed. They were happy to accommodate our needs and still complete the work in a timely fashion. The crew was very courteous and we enjoyed working with them. Given the scope of this home improvement project we were very pleased that the job was completed in just a few days. Several neighbors have since contracted with Jim to have work done on their homes.
