History

Established in 1998.

The Frankenmuth Cigar Brand (factory 623 of the State of Michigan) began in 1906 by a man named John L. Hilbrandt. John manufactured Premium Hand Made Cigars in Frankenmuth From 1906– 1916. Durring this time he built the original building on the southeast corner of Genesee and Main Street Frankenmuth Michigan, where he manufactured Cigars, had an Ice Cream Parlor, and sold Groceries. Both John and his wife Sabina were Torcedors (Master Cigar Rollers). John Blended the Filler, Bunched and put them in the molds than when the Filler was ready Sabina carefully applied the Final Wrapper Leaf and cap to the pressed cigar Filler (bullet) which made the cigar finished and complete. Between the years of 1917 – 1940 the Hilbrandts moved there Operation to Saginaw Michigan and finally to Carrollton Michigan. In 1940 the Frankenmuth Brand Cigars were made there until 1950.
