History
Established in 1994.
Originally the Frankfort Cocktail Grille, it was Baker’s Bar for 40 years from 1954 to 1994 when it then became Dinghy’s. It was a real challenge to change the business from what was essentially a beer bar to a full service restaurant. Frankfort is a very popular tourist destination in the summer months because of the varied outdoor activities that are available — not to mention the beauty of a northern Michigan coast. As the visitors began to discover Frankfort and Benzie County, Dinghy’s became everyone’s favorite spot for lunch or dinner. Now 12 years under the ownership of Steve Christian, the restaurant is as busy as it has ever been, and has even prospered in the Great Recession. Come visit the beautiful port city of Frankfort and enjoy the sailing, boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking and just plain ol’ sightseeing. And while you’re here, stop by and enjoy the great food and service at Dinghy’s. Open for lunch and dinner every day, year ’round — except closed on Sundays Nov-Apr.
