History
Established in 1899.
Franklin Park Library was originally formed as a project of the Franklin Park Woman’s Club. The first book was donated on April 15, 1899, and this was our beginning. Throughout its 100+ years, the Library changed locations several times before moving into our current location in the mid-1980s. Over the years, the Library’s collection has expanded to include over 150,000 books, 5,800 DVDs, 5,280 video recordings, 5,300 compact discs, 4,170 audiobooks, and a variety of online resources. The Library also collects and preserves materials relating to Franklin Park history in the Rodger Hammill Local History Room.
