History

Established in 1913.

1913: J.S. Paluch Company began as Merchants Press located in Chicago, IL

1936: Business expands from printing religious material and certificates for Catholic parishes to printing devotional pamphlets and other church resources

1952: Company begins expanding services outside Chicagoland and with an increase in parish bulletin printing, moving to a new and larger facility was necessary

1955: Founder John S. Paluch dies on June 6, 1955

1965: Following the Second Vatican Council, the first «Monthly Missalette» was published.

1967: With new liturgical guidelines from Vatican II, J.S. Paluch holds a country-​wide search for a new sung Mass that will provided ease of singing for the new Monthly Missal

1971: Expanding the Company’s musical selection, Paluch purchased World Library of Sacred Music from Cincinnati. Now World Library Publications, it is the music and liturgy division of J.S. Paluch that publishes liturgical music and other resources used world wide.

always delivers a vibrantly well printed bulletin for my church. Visited a couple local businesses I found in the ad-​pages (bakery, auto shop) and even found my new handyman!

Great experience getting my ads started with JS Paluch! Received ample information to reach thousands of potential customers near my restaurant week after week. Initially planned on using the ad only as a branding tool, but after discussing with my ad consultant, decided to include an offer with my ad. Very pleased with the design and the professionalism I experienced from start to finish! Very pleased with the results so far.

Absolutely do not use this company! I am shocked that my parish actually does business with them. They are incredible rude and difficult to deal with. They are extremely pushing and try to upgrade your ad every step of the way. It was a complete waste of money (not one call) and a very expensive lesson learned. I totally agree with the other comments. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Paid with a check for $ 700 with the understanding that I only want that to test. If it works I will redo. I did not pay with a credit card because they will keep on charging you, it’s in their contract. With my check payment they cannot charge the same check again yet still they mailed me today a charge of $ 1500 because they renewed for a whole year!!! Mailed them letters to stop this insanity and they won’t stop mailing me past due letters. I will NOT pay them that extra $ 1500 by the way. Horrible company!

I have used this company for advertising in the church bulletin and we have had not one phone call. Stuck in contract for a year. Complete waste of money!
I also made the mistake and tried to order calenders from them and needed them soon. I placed the order with rep over the phone gave my credit info and quantity no problems, three weeks later get a letter in the mail saying they were not able to place my order because I didn’t order enough! The rep didn’t say anything when I placed the order and I read that on flyer which stated minimum order of 125 which I did order… they wanted 125 of each since i ordered two different kinds. They could of at least called me to correct it… I will never use this company again.

Really bad customer service. I signed a contract for a year and was told that I can switch church anytime I wanted. I called the customer service 3 month later and asked them to switch to a different church. The lady was very rude and requested me to call each local church to get information. When I emailed them again about this request, no one bother to write me back. And it has been another 30 days. I felt I just threw $ 500 in the water. Definitely do not want to do business with them again.

I’ve used these crooks in the past from my old real estate days.
No calls, and they are terrible to deal with.
Maybe I would advertise with them if I was a funeral home operator or having a bake sale.

This is a company that specializes in advertising sales for church bulletins.
With a huge catholic church and school one block away, I thought it would be a good way to help build business. The cost $ 700/​year for their smallest ad. (I split between two churches for six months). The results. No calls.
Midway through my contract, I looked to cancel. No luck, and not very friendly customer service. No calls from my salesperson who was all too eager to take my check at the start. The contract terms are way to confining, there needs to be flexibility in terms of length of contract.
If you’re a small business looking for ways to get the word out about your services, you really need to think before you sign. Are there other companies like yours already advertising, do they have agreements with the churches (exclusivity?) Well, if they do, you’re wasting your money.
Print advertising is dead folks. Try Craigslist, e-​mail marketing like constant contact or a website with better SEO, even direct mail and leave behinds, lots of groups online to make postcards and promotional items.
Learned my lesson.
