H&R Block

THIS IS THE WORST GROUP OF H&R BLOCK PEOPLE AROUND!!! I have been using H&R Block for years. I am so frustrated I can’t even type a proper review. DO NOT GO HERE! The idiots answering the phone are as clueless as a group of hamsters!!! Consider yourself warned! Get your billions back? Try getting a phonecall back!

I’ve been going here for the past few years & have dealt with several different «Tax Professionals» (if you can even call them that as I probably easily know more than they do!). The straw that broke the camels back for me was Ms. «Peggy De Nitto». This woman is as unprofessional as you can get. First off, she will literally knock you over with the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke! Sitting at her desk will feel like you’re sitting in a smoke filled room and are nearly choking to death! Right then and there I knew it was going to be a unforgettable experience. Long story short, her incompetence was stellar! Good thing I was keeping a close eye on her computer screen, because she entered in several things wrong & thankfully I caught her before she went to the next page and corrected her. Gee, that would have been a fun audit later wouldn’t it? Next, when it didn’t appear as if my tax refund was going to be as big as I thought it would, she hinted, c’mon now, give me something to work with. Hmm, let’s just say you bought this, or that and (*Fradulently*) add it to your taxes to gain some money through deductions. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Yeah, sure she wouldn’t care as ultimately I would be held responsible, not her. Of course, I absolutely adamantly denied doing any of this as it’s absolutely wrong! I’m not looking to cheat the government out of money, I just want to probably do my taxes and call it a day! When she was ready to rush me out the door, I kindly inquired about possibly adding some (*legal*) deductions, and she just looked at me like a deer in the headlights! I brought up the idea of possibly contributing to a IRA, and finding out how much that would save me on my taxes, etc.; and she immediately said, «What?!? You mean the IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY!!!»; I was appalled. How dare you joke about a serious inquiry. She was not the least bit professional or knowledgeable at all! That, or she just didn’t care one bit. Do yourself a favor, and steer clear of these type of places. In the end, they also always try to scare you with a audit protection fee where they claim they’ll help you with the IRS in the event of an audit or whatnot; just forget it. Get yourself a copy of TurboTax and just do it yourself, or find a reputable accountant if you have complex taxes or feel you are unable to do it yourself. I’ve paid them so much money over the years & it’s just not the least bit worth it when in this day and age you can easily do it yourself for a fraction of the cost, and it’s all they really do. Type in the numbers, and use the tax software program. It’s not like you have to do it manually anymore, right? Whatever you do, don’t believe the hype on the commercials, steer clear of this place & all their unskilled employees who cold care less about your precious taxes! Heed my warning or suffer the consequences of pain, frustration & anguish like I did.
