Darrell Waltrip Honda

I brought my Certified Odyssey with less than 45,000 miles on it for a bad noise in the steering, when I got the call from the technician they said it would be $ 75 to fix because the grease had worn out on the steering column. To me with owning many Hondas through my life for the grease on a steering column to be completely gone at 45,000 miles is ridiculous, almost seems like it might have been done on purpose so that I would bring it in thinking it was covered by warranty to find out it wasn’t and then the dealership could make a quick $ 75. I was not at all happy with having to pay to have this fixed but the dealership made it seem like they had it all torn apart already and that it was going to cost me to have it put back together. I feel that if they certify a vehicle something like this should be covered under the certified warranty but apparently this is one of the few things that isn’t covered. I understand how the technician described it as «normal» wear and tear and that’s why it cost money, but 45,000 miles and being a Honda, just seems very ridiculous. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the service desk representative was kind.

This review is mainly for one salesman, Quanda (or «Q»). I came in with the intention of leasing a 2016 Honda Fit, but I also wanted to check out a used 2015 Fit. Quanda was extremely patient and straightforward with me, and he event went so far as to bounce back and forth between the used car dealership and the main dealership (they’re just down the street from each other) to show me all of the possible options.
I expected the sales people to be a bit pushy, and since it was the last day of the month, he definitely did try pretty hard to make the sale. That being said, I never felt uncomfortable or like Q was lying or exaggerating. In fact, he eventually just asked me what I wanted to pay each month and did everything he could to try to make it happen. Once the negotiating was over, Q was back to joking around with me and my boyfriend, and we really appreciated the way he made the process enjoyable and much less stressful than the usual car dealership scenario.
If you’re looking for a Honda in Nashville, it’s well worth the drive out to Franklin to work with Q! His name even rhymes with Honda, and if that doesn’t show you that he’s a born car salesman, I don’t know what will.

I couldn’t wait to write this review for Alex Leon my salesperson. The second we got in the car he was telling about the features. He seemed to know every detail about the car, front to back. The way he talked about the car made you fall in love with it. The best part is that i felt he was being honest and wanted the best for me. He didn’t try to sell me, he let the car to sell me. I feel like I got the best CRV EX L and price on the planet. Thank you Alex for helping me feel great about my decision. And thank you for taking the time to know your product which made me feel valued!

Great local company! I drive from Murfreesboro to Franklin just so they can service the family cars. They treat you with fair prices and exceptional customer service. Will continue to buy with the Hendrick’s Group.

Kwame Okraku was my Service Advisor. This was my first visit to Darrell Waltrip for service on my 2016 Honda Odyssey and thanks to Kwame it will NOT be my last visit. Kwame was awesome, very nice, professional and explain things in a manner that I could understand. I have his business card and will be scheduling all of my future service work through him. They just can’t seem to get it right. They are always super nice but sometimes I think they just drive my car around the building and then charge me for whatever I asked for. There is a Honda Carland in Georgia that I much prefer and there is something not exactly right about this place in Franklin. I stopped by to get my fluids checked and they said everything looked great and two days later I checked my oil and (I don’t have a leak) there was hardly any oil. I’ll just drive my car to Georgia when I need assistance for now on. I am also «missing» a tube that goes into my coolant reserve to keep my car from overheating and I just hope they aren’t messing with my CRV so I am forced to buy a new one from their dealership sooner t

I purchased a 2015 Honda Accord, my sales associate was Howard Becker and he was amazing. In fact, I wouldn’t have made the purchase if it wasn’t for him. I had been to 4 different dealerships and finally decided not to purchase at this time. Howard was informative but not pushy, he was friendly and never made me feel pressured, his positive yet assertive attitude made me trust him right away. I will send every friend and family member to him as I had the BEST experience I ever had making a vehicle purchase. I was a little nervous of being taken advantage of as I have before by other dealers, however, this was quite the opposite experience. He put my mind at ease in every way. He was a real gem. Did I mention I got a fantastic deal that no other dealership was able to match? We will ONLY buy cars from him and this dealership from now on! Thanks, Howard Becker and Darrell Waltrip!

This review concerns the service department only.
The best place to take your car… if you want it trashed. I took my car into DW for service a few months back, and it was ok. Kinda expensive, ($ 408), considering I’m a college student. The work was decent, and my problem was solved. But when I opened my door, I was unimpressed. My car was dirty, they didn’t even try to clean up after themselves, both inside and out. But what really pissed me off was that my driver’s side seat was broken. When I confronted the guy, he claimed zero responsibility and said they would only pay half. It was only until after I threatened legal litigation they agreed to pay to fix it. And they still didn’t clean it. (I ended up detailing for 3 hours). They weren’t nice, they didn’t offer me any discount or deal, and they sure didn’t consider that my family had bought 3 vehicles from them in the past. I wouldn’t even trust them to install wiper blades, no thanks, I’ll do my own service from now on.

I bought a CRV from Darrell Waltrip in May, and I had a great experience from my first test drive to signing the papers. This was my first time to buy a car, and I was so thankful that everyone was so honest and out of their way kind. I had heard horror stories about pushy and dishonest car salesmen, but I did not have a single negative encounter at Darrell Waltrip over the five to six times I went. I absolutely love my car, and I do not regret my choice of dealer!
I brought my car in today for its first oil change, and the service department may have even one upped the sales team in kindness! I’ll definitely continue to bring my car here to be serviced. Thank you!!!

I have been going here for years and I have always had excellent service! I bought my car here in 2013, and I’ve had all of its basic maintenance taken care of here. The service department is phenomenal!

Came here (pre-​owned) the day after being put off by the pressure of another large local dealership (I may have considered their pretty-​good-​offer further had they not been so vague about final numbers/​pushy). Walked in to a totally different ambiance and experience at the Darrell Waltrip Pre-​owned lot on 96. The staff were funny, understanding, and kind. I really didn’t feel like I would have been treated any differently had I walked out and never bought anything. I told the very hilarious, blunt, and empathetic Greg my ideal situation, finance and car-​wise, and he got me exactly what I asked for. Tammy and another nice gentleman handled my first-​time-​buyer woes like a pro and explained everything and answered all of my 8 million questions clearly. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family that are nervous or unsure about their options and the process, with or without perfect credit. I left the lot that day with a good deal and a great car. The best a gal can ask for.

Learned the hard way during the buying process that you need everything in writing. Guess things can’t be done with a handshake/gentleman’s agreement. Final carrot to get us to purchase the car was a $ 19.95 oil change for life. Two years later it went up to $ 24.95 and now as I sit here in the waiting room four years after we purchased we are up to $ 29.95 plus tax to get to around $ 35. If your sales representative is named Greg S. bring your pen and paper and get everything in writing. It is not really the few dollars every time I come in; its that knife going a little further in knowing that we were lied to in order for us to buy the car.
Service team is extremely pushy to get «extra» preventative work done. Go in knowing that they are going to try and sell and up sell you on everything they can think of.
This is a first and hopefully is just an isolated case. You have to ask for your car to go through the car wash (they won’t do it unless you ask). This time with the price as high as it has ever been for an oil change -$ 35 (that is correct a $ 19.95 lifetime price was promised) the car wash is broken– stick the knife in a little further.
Needless to say I will never buy another car for Darrell Waltrip Honda.

Their service department is the only reason why I keep coming back. Everyone in service is great and takes care of the customer. During one visit I was looking into trading in my car for a new Accord. I work in the car industry and know the business and still sales people always try to rip you off. The sales person I was working with had to get his manager which did not impress me and his manager low balled me for my trade in. I was told that unfortunatley the dealership hears that a lot that people come for the service and not the sales. Otherwise I would have given them a 5 stars.

My lease was up and I was looking to get into another Honda; I am relatively new to the area and wasn’t sure which dealership to visit. I consulted Unilocal and based on the reviews, went to Waltrip. They did not disappoint! I had a wonderful, hassle free, pressure free experience. Everyone was nice, professional, and helpful. They also had a large inventory to choose from. Would highly recommend this dealership.

Went in for an oil change. I’m new to the area and happened to mention that so my service guy walked me into waiting area, showed me around and gave me a tip that their free car wash is available after services but he went ahead and had it done for me. Before I left, he made sure all dashboard lights and alerts were back to normal. On my rear view mirror was also a quick appraisal for my vehicle that would be good for 7 days. We actually are looking to trade in so it was convenient and good-​to-​know if we decided. Service guy also made good conversation and was very genuine. As well as the receptionist. Overall very nice people! I would definitely consider purchasing through Darrell Waltrip Honda and will be back for routine oil changes. Estimated wait time was accurate at an hour.
4 days after the service, I received a Thank-​you-​for-​your-​service call with a number to the service manager if I wanted to follow up with any questions or concerns.
Overall I’m super satisfied!

Great experience in making a trade for a used CRV. Betsy was our salesperson and was not at all the typical «uses car salesmen» stereotype… not pushy at all. I give 3 stars only just because once we negotiated our price (which they will work with on and strike up a good deal) it took a good while to finalize and have my car ready.
Would definitely recommend and do business with them again. If you have kiddies with you they have a kids play area as well.

Very pleased with my new car purchase. The salesman wasn’t pushy, but it did take 4.5 hrs between saying «Yes, I want the car» and finally driving off the lot with it. However, the dealership has stellar bonuses when you buy a car from them and there were no surprises in the final paperwork. Got an excellent car for a very good deal.
Updated review on 5÷26÷14: I recently went to Subaru and Beaman dealerships with a friend while she bought a car, and now I can say, that comparatively, Darrell Waltrip is a 5 star dealership — as good as it gets!

I received a flyer in the mail from Darrell Waltrip Honda, and one of the coupons on the flyer was for a $ 14.95 oil change (originally $ 24.95). The flyer also stated that if I signed up online to receive their emails that I would receive another coupon for an additional $ 10 off making my oil change only $ 4.95. What a deal! Once I registered online, I received the additional $ 10 off coupon by email. I made my appointment. Everything was in place.
However, this morning I realized that I had misplaced the coupon that came in the mail, so I called Darrell Waltrip Honda to find out if I was going to need it or whether they would honor the coupon (the flyer stated something about having to bring it in to get the $ 14.95 oil change). The woman I spoke with told me that they WOULD NOT HONOR the coupon unless I brought it with me, so I promptly cancelled my appointment.
Since the flyer had my name and the year, make, and model of my car on it, I assumed they knew about this promotion and could confirm that they had sent this particular flyer to me. The mail flyer was only worth $ 10 off, so I figured they would honor it to make a new customer, but I was wrong. Darrell Waltrip Honda would have had a new customer today, but they turned me down over a misplaced $ 10 coupon.

Other reviews are for other departments, but I bought a car here this weekend and had a wonderful experience. I would recommend Michael Goyer – he was realistic, kind, and relentless in our positive customer experience. Although the process took at least three hours, I don’t think he was working on other customers or focused anywhere else. And, when he was busy – arranging for the business department, pulling cars around – other employees would speak with us, and again, they were all extremely nice and not pushy in the least.
I purchased from them because they had the car in stock that I wanted, but I would recommend anyone to shop there. And, when I’m ready for my next Honda, I’ll be back to work with him.

SERVICE CENTER REVIEW:
Pretty good. I’ve had my car serviced here many times. I am a car guy and do lots of work myself, so let’s just say I have a finely-​tuned BS detector. These guys have not set it off yet. ISure, they recommend maximum service, but they are in business, and it is a dealership…) They do what I asked them to do and don’t argue with me about the need for superfluous, additional services.
They also have a shuttle, which is very convenient. Their waiting area is decent as well.
