The Goodnight Memorial Library has been serving the citizens of Simpson County, Kentucky & the surrounding area since 1937. Stop on in for your favorite books, movies & more!
If you are traveling or just cutting costs, we also offer free public Internet access and are a free Wi-Fi hotspot.
We now feature a Book Store, operated by the Friends of the Library! Its hours are Mondays from 4 pm to 8 pm, Wednesdays from 1 pm to 5 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm. See our website at www.gmpl.org/friends for more information!
History
Established in 1937.
The I. H. Goodnight Memorial Library and Auditorium was built in 1936 and 1937 through a bequest by Mrs. Ella Hoy Goodnight in honor of her husband, Isaac Herschel Goodnight, and through funds and labor provided by the Works Project Administration.
