Dr. Matus received his bachelors degree in biology from Carroll College in 1982 and his Doctory of Optometry (OD) degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1986. He opened his private practice in Franklin in 1998. Dr. Matus is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He is a member of The American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association.

I definitely would not recommend this place! It is not particularly clean (in fact it’s pretty dusty), which is disturbing for a place where you’re putting things in your eyes. In our case, the prescriptions were correct, but the doctor and staff are just not very professional. At one point, I went in to pick up my husband’s glasses and had to wait 10 minutes while the woman behind the desk had a personal conversation with a girl I assumed to be her daughter. The worst part is that the woman at the front desk had a little dog at work with her! I don’t care how clean you keep your animals, a doctor’s office is just not the place for them. We’ve since switched eye doctors because our experience at Matus was not a good one.
